Maybelline Pop of Pink Baby Lips Review & Swatches
Maybelline Pop of Pink Baby Lips Lip Balm is one of several new, limited edition shades that’s available with the Maybelline Pink’ed Collection for Spring 2014.
If you’re looking for fun makeup and beauty to fill your Easter basket some of these sweet pink shades of Baby Lips are a great pick up! Particularly if you have younger teens in your life.
Take a peek!
Maybelline Pop of Pink Baby Lips is a lighter peony pink shade that applies with a hint of lighter purple-y pink on lips. It isn’t really my pink shade of choice to be honest as it makes me look like a zombie but super fair skin tones will likely love this cooler shade of pink! The color is sheer but there’s enough pigment here that you can easily see the color come through even on pigmented lips.
I find the Baby Lips formula varies from shade to shade. Pop of Pink has a nice slickness that give lips a slightly glossy sheen. I don’t find the formula on these balms terribly moisturizing but it feels hydrating enough through the shorter wear. I find I have to chronically apply and reapply them as they have such a shorter wear! They aren’t anymore or less moisturizing than a regular Chapstick and hey, some of the newer Chapsticks are even more moisturizing for me!
Baby Lips has a strong cult following but I’m just a bit meh on it…! I do generally pick up new shades to try out as they are a quick fix for adding a hint of tint and a little moisture on lips if you’re a bit lazy (like me!) about reapplying lipstick and gloss through the day and you don’t want to be completely without some color on your lips. However, I don’t find them particularly special.
Maybelline Pop of Pink Baby Lips is probably on of the least eventful shades from the Pink’ed Collection. There are other shades with much nicer pigment to be had in this collection so I’d recommend one of those this particularly shade.
The collection is available now at drugstores for a limited time.
