L’Oreal The Wild Extraordinaire Lip Color Collection Review & Swatches
The L’Oreal The Wild Extraordinaire Lip Color Collection is made up of a range of six permanent shades of Extraordinaire Lip Color available in limited edition packaging.
The L’Oreal The Wild Extraordinaire Lip Color Collection includes Rouge Allegro, Ruby Opera, Scarlett Concerto, Purple Prelude, Molto Mayve, and Plum Adagio. As you might have noticed these are all shades from the permanent range of L’Oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color. They do mark this as a limited edition collection which can be confusing for some as the only thing limited edition about it is the fact they spiced up the packaging with a leopard/tiger/panther print on the packaging of each tube. There are three “big cat” prints on each of the six shades relaunched with the collection.
I think the nice part about this release is it could potentially bring to your attention a shade you might not have tried before. For example, I don’t own Scarlet Concerto so I was happy that this collection featured it as I ended up purchasing and loving the shade. The collection also makes for a rather nice Fall 2014 release as these shades are a nice round up of vibrant reds and vampy purples for Fall looks!

LOreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Lip Color is a rather nice hybrid formula that provides the color of a lipstick and the glossiness and texture of a gloss. I find the texture of these much thicker and creamier than L’Oreal Color Caresse Shine Stain plus they do pack a good deal more pigment but they lack the staining effect that Color Caresse promises. They have a very rich color pay off and a heck of a lot of shine with a nice hydrating feel but aren’t as moisturizing in my experience as Maybelline’s Color Elixir.

Both the Extraordinaire and Elixir formulas are possibly some of the best drugstore formulas you’ll find in regards to a solid performing liquid lipstick. These are pretty high end at a very low cost. I find they wear for around three to hours, provide plenty of great color, and leave lips very moist through the wear without migrating.

As I mentioned above the L’Oreal the Wild Collection doesn’t have new shades, merely new packaging. I lucked out with these as the only shade I owned in my own collection was Molto Mauve. The other five shades I don’t have so I can take advantage of the colors and the fun, limited edition packaging.
Do you need these? No, not if you already have them although the packaging might sway you! However, if you don’t own some of these shades this is a great way to discover them for your Fall looks!
