ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadow Reviews & Swatches

ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows

ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadow is the perfect beauty budget pick for those wanting to try something new in the eyeshadow world. ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows are a mere $5 bucks each making them a cheap beauty thrill that’s sure to please those who love trying out new products.

Take a look!

ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadow

Yesterday I featured the Colourpop Lippie Stix Lipsticks which I thought were rather impressive but honestly, ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows are the real scene stealer from the brand. These super formulated eyeshadows make it hard to believe I only paid a mere $5 each for ’em!

Housed in a 0.07 oz chunky compact these quite remind me of MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadows both in packaging (the packaging is identical to MAC’s version except in white) and formula. They have a cream to powder texture that feels super silky and smooth with a lightly creamy consistency that applies and blends onto lids easily and flawlessly.

I purchased only four shades for myself, fell in love, and quickly ordered some more (waiting for them to arrive)!

I’ll review the other shades I have in upcoming posts but so far all the shades I’ve tried were incredible. These are nicely pigmented with a lightly creamy powdery texture. They applied very, very easily on lids and blend out beautifully. I find the texture has a slightly squishy feel as you press into them however, they apply very silky and powdery on lids. No worries powdery doesn’t translate to chalkiness here as the shades are super vibrant. I do need eyeshadow primer under them as I find the color fades on me after a few hours but with primer I can get all day, crease-free wear. They do have some fall put during application so I’d suggest applying with a sponge tipped eyeshadow applicator as this seems to minimize fall out considerably.

I’ve only had them about two weeks now or so so I can’t really share if the formula morphs but according to the brand you have to make sure you close these really tightly after use. I imagine if they are left open they might become dense and harder to use. So to ensure they keep their nice creaminess be sure to shut them tight after each use.

I am SO GLAD you got So Quiche, I was going to recommend it to you. I’ve got probably 3/4 of the eyeshadows they’ve put out and I love them to bits. I love their lippies even more. Leather, Feminist, Brills, Grind, Bunny, I could go on and on about their gorgeous lippies.

  • Olivia

I just got mine from the holiday collection and they are beautiful! I find myself only wanting to wear them and my lippie pencil in creature!

  • Angel

Musey, these look amazeballs! How would you describe Desert? I can’t really tell if its more rose-gold or taupe. Or am I wrong on both parts LOL!? Either way it’s gorgeous. Really like Cricket on you too, makes your eyes just POP! So pretty!!

    • Isabella Muse

hey angel! they really are and five bucks? hello cheap! It’s more like a desert sandy shade no taupe, no rose gold, but more like Bobbi Brown Sand Dune Long Wear Eyeshadow. Hope this helps!? 🙂 thank YOU! <3!

      • Angel

Thank you, yes that helps a lot! I searched some more swatches of the line last night and I want like ten, at least! They are so pretty, the formula sounds amazing and OMG so cheap! I want to say a bad word in regards to MAC right now but I’ll hold back lol.

        • Isabella Muse

lol! 😀 they really are very very pretty. Christine reviewed and swatched a lot of them already as well so check her out for swatches!

  • Trisha

I wish I saw your review before ordering. The swatches differ from blogger to blogger. Oh well, at least it’s cheap. I can’t wait til my order arrives.

awwwwwwww! i LOVe how SO quiche is so sparkly and fun on your lids, Muse! i DEFINITELY wants….they only thing holding me back at this point is the definitely higher cost of shipping to canada- it would be GREAT if they offered complimentary shipping with a minimum purchase like $100 like what Sugarpill does. I am on the hunt for someone to buy at the same time so we can split the cost of shipping. In the meantime, super excited to see the reviews and the rest of the colors you ordered! Happy mid-week, Muse! also,i loved your Givenchy reminiscing post….i remember BOTH of those lash sparkler things from Dior and Givenchy although i never purchased.

    • Isabella Muse

ugh sorry telle. maybe contact them if you have plans to do a huge order and they might offer you some discount!? never hurts to ask! hahaha I got those! They are still in my stash (although I don’t use them)! I wish Holiday Collections were as magical as they once were 😀

      • telle

that’s a REALLY good idea…..i just may do that! thanks for the idea, Muse! because you are right, it doesn’t hurt, the worst is a no in ‘unfortunately we are not able to…’ 🙂

YESSS!! YOU ARE SO RIGHT MUSE!!!! I used to look forward to the holiday collections SO much….and they are not bad now, but not as exciting, and MaGiCaL….a fav of mine was Dior Cristale Boreale circa 2009.

        • Isabella Muse

ya never know! there CS team is pretty great! exactly, never hurts to ask 🙂 I agree! I think there’s a lot of repetitive releases where as at one time holiday collections were super exciting, magical, and even had some unique items that were truly special! Now the word LE is tossed around willy nilly as nothing really seems LE anymore! Dior Cristale Boreale was indeed special! that pendant was amazing! my fav is Givenchy Midnight Butterfly!

I love CoulorPop so much (thanks to Phyrra). They have the best, ultra-bright, sparkly eyeshadows ever. I only have a couple of their lippies so far, but they are awesome.

Cricket looks really beautiful on you.

  • Jessy

These are currently my new obsession! I love how everyone’s excited about them. I haven’t heard or read a bad review so far. How wonderful is it to find a company that keeps their prices so low, but not the quality? I’ve placed 2 orders so far and I’ll definitely purchase more. I haven’t been this impressed by a beauty product in so long (lately it just seems companies are just copying each other, ugh! enough with the neutral palettes already!) this company is such a breath of fresh air in my opinion. I hope you do a review of the Lippie Stix as well, I’d really like to know your opinion. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next year.

    • Isabella Muse

I already reviewed the Lippie Stix Jessy 🙂 there’s a link right in this post pointing to the review. Glad you’re loving the brand, it really is a great beauty budget brand 😀

    • Isabella Muse

you are far too kind. they are horrible in my opinion, I hate them 🙂 worst feature!

      • Jessica

I agree, they have the worst packaging! I recently ordered a few eyeshadows from them and they looked smashed into the container. I thought only one of the eyeshadows was like this but all of them were! as for their performance they are not so great either.

  • Nora

Hey! Can you recommend a few eye primers to make the eyeshadows last longer? Thanks!

  • Cassi

Hi Muse! I was just wondering if the colorpop eyeshadows or highlighters made you itchy? I want to place an order but I saw Bismuth is near the bottom of the ingredients list.

    • Isabella Muse

no thank god as bismuth and my skin DO NOT get alone but nope I didn’t have any issues, Cassi! Hope this helps!

  • Jessica

I just received my third order from them today and it broke my heart, I am done with colourpop. Their packaging was so terrible this time. All of the items I ordered were smeared with a pinky color substance, and the eyeshadows were all smashed up into the container. I’ve had ordered from them before and never had such a terrible experience.
