Bare Minerals Posh Neutrals

Bare Minerals the Posh Neutrals Ready 8.0 Eyeshadow Palette is one of three Spring 2015 Ready 8.0 Eyeshadow Palettes launching this season! I can’t tell you how much I adore the Bare Minerals Power Neutrals Ready Eyeshadow Palette, honestly, Ready 8.0’s are truly some of my favorite palettes in my stash and believe me I have LOTS of eyeshadow palettes.

They just have such an incredible formula that’s rich in pigment and oh so beautifully textured.

Now Bare Minerals the Posh Neutrals Ready 8.0 Eyeshadow Palette is a retake on the Bare Minerals the Affair to Remember 8.0 Eyeshadow Palette that released on QVC for Spring 2014.

See what’s new, see what’s old below!

Bare Minerals the Posh Neutrals Ready Eyeshadow Palette

Good news if you didn’t get the Affair to Remember Eyeshadow Palette you TOTALLY NEED the Bare Minerals the Posh Neutrals Ready 8.0 Eyeshadow Palette. It’s stunning, it’s gorgeous, it’s perfect for taupe and purple lovers!

This palette contains the following shades:

  • Curtsy (shimmer snowflake)
  • Valet (toffee sheen)
  • Debutante (blushing nude)
  • Romance (glimmering plum)
  • Waltz (soft pink taupe)
  • Caviar & Cake (velvet chrome)
  • Sizzle (bronze spice)
  • Promise (creamy beige)

Originally the Affair to Remember Palette launched in the UK and we later got it in the US and it does contain almost all the same shades as the ones in the newly released Posh Neutrals Palette for Spring 2015. Out of the eight shades in this palette six are repromoted from the Affair to Remember. Instead of Swept Away and Revelry which appeared in the Affair to Remember Palette you get Sizzle and Promise.

I think the Affair to Remember Palette was dominated by purples but the revamped design seems to combine both purples and taupes which somehow made it more pleasing for me this time around. But it’s still a lot of repeated shades which will disappoint those who do have the original palette.

But if you don’t have it, lucky you! You’re in for a treat!

It’s a funny thing with Bare Minerals because when they originally launched the Ready Eyeshadow Collection I was both delighted and a little worried. I’ve always liked Bare Mineral’s loose formula even though it can prove messy to work with so I felt like they didn’t really need to mess with a good thing, why did they have to reinvent something that was already great? Needles to say they did an incredible job with their pressed shadows and they are truly some of the best on the market. These are so velvety, so smooth, and wonderfully pigmented. Even the mattes are soft, silky, and easy to apply. The formula blends flawlessly onto lids and doesn’t fade or crease with or without primer on my dry eyes. There’s just so much to rave here.

I don’t really love the 2 or 4.0 palettes as I really like the variety of the 8.0 Eyeshadow Palettes the most. Eight shades, one palette, so many endless looks you can create. I feel like the shades in the 8.0 always flow so well together and contrast beautifully! They include a guide for creating looks using the shades as well which is now located printed on the inside flap of the box (they used to include it on a separate paper inside the box). The palette also comes with a double side brush for application, don’t write it off, it’s actually a very good brush!

If you’re looking for the best bang for your buck the 8.0 Eyeshadow Palettes are a great pick.

Bare Minerals the Posh Neutrals Ready 8.0 Eyeshadow Palette will unfortunately prove disappointing for those that already own the Affair to Remember Palette as many of these shades aren’t new. But that palette didn’t receive a huge launch outside of QVC so you might not own it! In that case the Posh Neutrals, is an exciting release and very worth a pick up.

Thanks for the review, Muse! I’ve always wondered if the BM shadows were good, nice to see a cooler-toned palette too.

    • Genevieve

I have quite a few bareMinerals eye shadow palettes and they are ALL fantastic. I am also cool toned and find that they really suit.

Hey Muse! Just wondering if it’s worth purchasing since I already have the Affair to Remember palette. I do love those purples and taupes!

Also wondering if you’ll review The Sexy Neutrals which is the repromote of Nude Beach. Before I get OCD and buy ’em anyway, I welcome your expert opinion.

    • Isabella Muse

I hate to say this but yes lol! I thought this was nicer than the affair to remember for some reason? I dunno why but the colors seem to jive better for me!? I could be nuts though so maybe not listen to me hahaha! I will indeed! It’s upcoming shortly sis!

      • Christina

For me, it was the texture. It’s more true to their original. The Affair to Remember was pretty sheer and muddy on me.

        • Isabella Muse

yeah, ya know, maybe I’m nuts but Affair to Remember was kinda muddy for me too and the Posh neutrals somehow feels and looks much better for me!

  • Tracy

This is so pretty I might pass out. Someone push me to the store and put this in my hand.

  • Christina D.

You are indeed my Sista from another mista! Do either or us need either of these palettes (or any more palettes for that matter)? Hell no! Does that stop us anyway? Hell no!

    • Isabella Muse

hehehe high five glad someone agrees with my insanity. I dunno, this palette seemed to combine the purples and taupes in a nicer way where as the Affair to Remember felt like ALL purple. This is a nice combination of the purple and the complimentary taupe ;-D def see it in store before deciding 😀

  • auntymaim

That lid color looks fantastic on you! This release looks like a good candidate for workday eyeshadow for me, I like to be able to just slap on one or two colors and call it a day, without having to futz with fancy contouring, and I adore their formula.

    • Isabella Muse

thank YOU! it’s actually a mix of two shades 😀 I agree, no fuss, easy apply and looks elegant!

  • Christina

You’re right Muse, this is nice than the original palette. I actually returned the original because I felt like the colors weren’t “purple” enough and not as pigmented as normal. When I played with this palette in stores, I was delighted that there were a few warmer shades to round out the look.

I was tempted to pick this up, but I grabbed the Modern Pop quad instead. Fantastic mattes! But now I’m tempted with this again.

    • Isabella Muse

right? I thought I was being weird…! it seems like this is much more wearable than Affair to Remember. Dunno why 😀 I have the Modern Pop and love it too, great mattes 😀

  • Rachel R.

I really want this. I like how the neutrals have tinges of purple, peach, pink and green.

  • NJ

you’re right about that brush. It looks cheesy but they work quite well with such a heavily pigmented shadow.

    • Isabella Muse

I didn’t say the brush was cheesy NJ, I said it’s actually a good brush.

  • Genevieve

Those colours look gorgeous on you and I think it is a really versatile palette. It has all the colours a cool toned girl would need.

  • Kiss & Make-up

Great review! And the palette really does look good. I’m just not sure if the colors would work for me.

  • Agona

Hi! I know you said Posh Neutrals is worth getting even if you have Affair to Remember. But is Affair to Remember worth stalking eBay for if you have Posh Neutrals? Thanks!

    • Isabella Muse

nope, I wouldn’t. I think that Posh Neutrals is the nicer of the two Agona! The colors just jive better in Posh Neutrals where as in Affair to Remember they were a little flat and didn’t go well together. Don’t bother imho!
