Bare Minerals The Sexy Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette

Gorgeous aren’t they?

I’m looking forward to checking this out in person!

What do you think?

I was thinking Sexy Neutrals looks a little like Bare Minerals The Nude Beach Ready Eyeshadow Palette and the Posh Neutral Palette looks an awful lot like The Affair to Remember Palette!

Looking back it looks like many of the shades are exactly the same as the ones in two past two palettes. Considering QVC originally launched both those palettes first it looks like maybe they have just brought them back and made them available permanent. It looks like maybe one or two of the shades are new but the others are exactly what you’ll find in the Nude Beach and Affair to Remember Palettes!

Available now at Ulta.com, www.bareescentuals.com, and dillards.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I agree the appear similar but I still want both! Can’t wait to see swatches 🙂

  • Beth

For a second there I was super excited – I love the 8.0 palettes and was really sad they didn’t release one for the holidays – but as these are so close to the two existing palettes I guess I’ll be passing. Sad times!

  • Sara

Meh, I’m really over neutral palettes. I picked up Naked 2 around the holidays with my $15 off at Sephora and I already have several neutral other palettes. I love me some color! When will someone come out with a color-tone themed palette, like back when POP makeup had the eyeshadow palettes for green eyes, brown eyes, etc! I’d love a Naked size palette with all hues of green or purple.

    • NJ

never was into neutrals. how boring! I’d love a Naked size palette with all hues of green or purple too.

  • Sarah

These look fun, and I’m such a neutral freak. Speaking of bare minerals, did you see the new Complexion Rescue Tinted hydrating gel? Ordered it already (I’m such a psycho and on a mission to find the perfect base); can’t wait to get it!!

    • Isabella Muse

I did I did I did! Looks amazings 😀 haha! I want it 🙂 let me know how it is?!

  • Chantel

I love bareMinerals and too was eager to buy these palettes, but bareminerals has been known to “recycle” shadows from palette to palette. That being said, there are twelve repeat shades from the QVC palettes, two shades that can be found in other palettes I have, which leaves only 2 new shades!!!! Ridiculous, totally skip if you already have the QVC palettes.

After seeing the pics and reading the names of the shadows, I agreed with you Muse, and I thought they looked and sounded familiar.

So I compared Sexy Neutrals to the Nude Beach palette, and five of the eight shades are the same!

Then I compared the Posh Neutrals to the Affair to Remember palette, and six of those eight shades are the same!

Thankfully, I just saved myself from spending $80 ($40 for each) on basically dupe palettes.

    • Isabella Muse

haha I had them in my cart too girl! and SO many of the shades were the same I was like yeah, do not need!

  • Rachel R.

They are all pretty, but the only one I’d consider is the Posh palette, because of the tinges of violet, pink and green.

I’ve got more than enough brown palettes, so I’d pass on the other two.

  • Sitka

I am THRILLED about the release of the Sexy Neutrals Palette!!!!! I’ve been desperately wanting the Nude Beach palette for 7 months (never got it in time last summer) and it looks like they recycled 4 of the shades, kept a similar vibe, and even improved it! Glad there’s a darker shade for more contouring.. It looks absofreakin GORGEOUS! I can’t wait. Looking forward to swatching this.

    • Isabella Muse

sitka you are right, it is newly revamped Nude Beach 🙂 and there are many of the same shades but also new ones!

    • Michelle

I’m right there with you, Sitka! I wasn’t able to grab the Nude Beach palette so when I saw this one I ran out to Ulta and picked it up. I actually think I would have liked this one better anyway, since there is a deep brown in it that the Nude Beach was missing 🙂

  • Priscilla

This looks fun. I’ve never purchased a palette before because I like to keep my makeup simple. A lot of palettes offer colors I’d never use. This one looks like I can use all of them. Are they matte or shimmer?

  • Lydia Chau

Oh these look gorgeous! do you know by any chance if these are going to be launching in sephora? Thank you for the review by the way!

    • Isabella Muse

my pleasure lydia. I don’t think so! It appears they are at dillards, ulta, and nordstrom but sephora never got them in stock!

  • Lydia

This is so beautiful! I totally want to get it. Do you know if it’ll be sold at sephora?

    • Isabella Muse

i don’t think so lydia it looks like they launched at nordstrom, ulta, dillards, and be boutiques but not sephora sadly!

  • Violet

I bought the “Sexy Neutrals” because I missed the Beach palette. You pretty much have to love a frosty look for this one. Nude Beach, Bare Skin, Pure and Natural are all very frosty and in my opinion the Espresso is out of place. Would have much rather have had a more summery shade than what almost looks like black on the eye. I’m personally using a soft grey liner I got from Urban Decay called “Desperation”. It plays really well with the browns in this palette and gives a softer look to the eye. I like the palette, but I don’t love it as much as I had hoped.
