Maybelline Introduces Color Blur Cream Matte Pencils

Color Blur Cream Matte Pencils

Matte fan? Well Maybelline Color Blur Cream Matte Pencils might just be your bag darling! Available in 12 pigmented shades these new Color Blur Cream Matte Pencils give you vibrant, pigmented colors that can worn one of two ways!

So these are kinda sorta interesting as you can swivel them up and apply easy enough! They have amazing pigmentation and offer a matte finish! On the flip side you have a rubber smudger which can be used to sheer color out for a more stained effect.

Interesting right?

I thought the double end hid a setting balm on the other side but turns out it is a smudger!

What do you think of these?

Review is on the way and scheduled for tomorrow so you’ll be bearing my thoughts and seeing my swatches very shortly.

Tried ’em already?

What did you think!?

Maybelline Color Blur Cream Matte Pencils are launching now at drugstores!

I’ve been looking for these! My local drugstores take forever to get new products in, though. My local Walgreen’s with the best selection JUST NOW got the Rimmel chubby lip pencils. Pathetic, eh?

    • Angela

Sounds like you’re in Canada, LOL! I’ll have to wait for months before these make their way across the border 🙁 and I loved the maybelline matte lipsticks. Can’t wait to try these!!

  • Jenna

I found these at Walmart last week and at Bed Bath and Beyond today for almost $1 less. So far I’m loving them! They’re so pigmented and glide on like butter.

  • Fancie

I think the smudger part is weird but I’m curious to try one of these. I hope these and the limited edition NY lipsticks hit my CVS soon

  • Carrie

Oh man, I was just at Walgreens today and I was hunting for these! Didn’t find them (sadly) but I’m still holding out that I’ll see them pop up soon.

  • Skylar Cho

Mm… sounds interesting! It looks like they have taken interest in Korean makeup trends as the blended lip look is very popular there! Definitely have to try!

  • Carol G

These look kinda cool and unique for a drugstore product. Looking forward to your review for sure.

  • Juliet

I found my at walmart and so far am in love!! Does anyone know if they are permanent?

  • Katherine T.

Yeah, I was pretty confused by the “blur” in the name and the smudger at the end. I mean who wants blurry, smudgy lipstick? But if you look at the promo pic, maybe the model is using the smudge end for that gradient color look that is so popular in Korea?

  • Miss_silk

hmmm looks similar to Aritaum’s Wannabe Cushion tints….or the Face Shop color cushion tints?

    • Sae

My same exact thoughts! I absolutely love the aritaum ones so these are going to be interesting. Hopefully they’re just as good! Wish they would have the same “peach candy” smell as aritaum but I’m sure that’s a long shot in the US market XD

  • Hanna

This seems like a very Korean look, smudging from the inside out on lips. Guess the Asian beauty products that seem to be inspiring beauty brands all over is extending to the styling as well. I like it, I’ll definitely be looking for these!

    • Isabella Muse

Yeah, the gradient lip look is one that’s been around a while in Korea and is heavily promoted across all lip releases! Interesting to see it hear in the US!

  • Nikki

Is that a gradient lip I spy on the model? Could it be that it’s FINALLY happening in the US?
With the smudger I wonder how long these wear…

  • Heather

OMG! These look similar to the Color Drama Intense Velvet lip pencils by Maybelline available in the UK & Australia. I have been dying to try that formula. These plus the news of the re-launch for the L’oreal pencils is almost too much to handle in one day!

  • kellly

I should be seeing these in my area in about 3 weeks. It takes FOR.EVER. for the good stuff to get available here! I want to try these out. I like that ombre lip look on the display model, too.
I thought the “color blur” in the name referred to maybe having some kind of primer-type stuff in the pencil that would sort of smudge out lines and cracks in your lips, sort of like how concealers try to blur out small wrinkles and lines under your eyes? I dunno, that’s just what I thought the color blur was talking about in these. Who knows, but I do want to try them – when they finally show up in my area in a month or so. (*sigh*)

  • Genevieve

I hope the colours include an olive green because that is what I am looking for. Cannot wait for the reviews.

  • zangy

This looks like something I got from Aritaum-a Korea makeup brand. I do think the Korean makeup trend is hitting the USA.

  • Ari

Wow these really resemble the Aritaum Wannabe Cushion Tints! It seems the cushion trend from Korea is spreading even steadier (Lancôme Cushion!), what with BB and CC creams in recent years!

  • Mecie

I purchased one of these from Walmart last week. I have the 35 Plum Please and it’s REALLY pigmented and AMAZING! it’s matted as well so it’s really no shine to it but it’s just right for all shades.

  • Sylwia

    Matte fan=checked!
I use matte products mostly, I find them more casual for an early morning makeup and I like their ‘light’ consistency.
I have many products from Maybelline, they work realy good for me, I’m very satisfied.
Hopefully I’ll find those Maybelline Color Blur Cream Matte Pencils, maybe something in pink shade. I haven’t seen them yet, here in France :/
