Take a peek!
Unlike the Covergirl Hunger Games Makeup Collection the shades in the Covergirl Star Wars Makeup Collection are not repromoted permanent shades. These six new colors will be available in a Light Side Droid color selection a Dark Side Stormtrooper color selection as well. The shades are limited edition and will be $7.99 each.
Each lipstick comes housed in a square black lacquer tube with “Star Wars The Force Awakens” on the side. Sadly, each shade is not named but instead are numbered. I have #40 which is a golden shimmering orange and part of the Droid Light Side and 50 which is a dark grape-y purple which is part of the Dark Side Stormtropper side.
For me the Colorlicious Lipstick range is a lot like Covergirl’s Lip Perfection Lipstick formula. My favorite shade between these two is most definitely the Gold Droid which can be used alone or as an overcoat on lipsticks. This has a slick texture with a nice easy glide on lips and a ton of shimmer. It’ll be a very nice shade for an orange ombre look. The color works fabulous on its own giving lips a golden orange shimmery finish. Or can be used on top of bright red or orange lipsticks to add shimmery and depth. It’s quite a versatile shade! It has a light vanilla taste and fragrance.

Shade 50 didn’t play as nicely! This is a slicker formula as well but the color is so dark it applies a bit patchy so you might need a lip brush for the best application. The color seemed to migrate and separate due to the moister, lighter texture of the formula. It’s a color that’s difficult to wear and apply in my opinion. But on the upside, I do find that with a lot of vampy shades of lipstick. I just always struggle with applying them and this color falls into those realms. It just seemed to want to travel around my lip line as well which wasn’t a pretty look. It is a very Fall friendly shade though. That’s part of what I liked about both shades as they are quite trendy for Fall looks!
Halloween is on the way and some of these shades will make for great costume additions. I heard chatter that some fans didn’t love the collection. Honestly, I’m a Star Wars fan girl and I totally dug the idea of the collection. You’re going to run into everything from candy to toilet paper with Star Wars on it for the next three years of your geeky life so why not a drugstore makeup collection too right?
I’m all hands on deck for the Covergirl Star Wars Makeup Collection so bring it on!
