Makeup & Beauty That Makes You Look Like You Had 12 Hours of Sleep

Makeup & Beauty that makes you look rested

Ahh sleep! It feels like I never have enough of it! When working on five hours rest but you wanna look like you had 12 hours sleep you might want to indulge in some of these makeup and beauty picks to give you the look!

I always feel like I’m not getting enough sleep. I’m an utter night owl. My day starts at 4:30 AM which is when I get up to take photos for the blog, write posts, and take care of general blogging bits and bobs. At around 6:45 AM I hop in the shower and start getting ready for my “real” job. During all this I’m typically living dead girl because 1. I don’t drink coffee and 2. I’m just not a morning person. I’m up at 4:30 AM yes but I’m still very much asleep until around 5 PM and that’s when I start getting my second wind. At this point I’m utterly on party mode. I’ll stay out late, I’ll come home and watch TV until late, I’ll game until late, etc…I’m just wide awake and if I let myself I’ll stay up until 4 or 5 AM. If I could put myself on frat house party hours I’d totally do so which would be party until 5AM, head to bed, and sleep all day until 5PM, wake up and do it all again.

Unfortunately, I can’t do that because real life and responsibilities get in the way. Jeez!

The thing is even though I know I have to get up at 4:30 AM I’m still up late and in the morning, well, that isn’t a pretty affair so I use these products to help revive my skin, conceal my dark circles, and make me look like I have 12 hours of sleep instead of merely 4!

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque $2.99 (Review)
So everyone raves this masque and I have to admit it’s one of the first things I use in the AM to wake my skin up and ease dullness. I typically shower first and directly after getting out of the shower I head to my vanity sink, splash my face with cold water, squeeze a dollop of Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque into my hands, and massage it onto my face for a few minutes. The tiny grains exfoliate gently plus they give my skin a nice glow and a brighter appearance!

Sana Hadanomy Collagen Mist $14 (Review)
You’ve heard me rave it many times but Sana’s face mist is one of most hydrating facial mists I’ve had the pleasure of using. I always say moisture is the key to easing dullness and giving your skin a much needed boast. So if your skin is looking a little tired after too little sleep, mist this on your face and be prepared for a brighter, happier, well hydrated complexion!

Pixi Glow Tonic
$29 (Review)
I typically prep my skin with Glow Tonic because I like how it smooths, softens, gently exfoliates, and preps my skin for moisturizer. It revives my dull, tired skin instantly!

Philosophy Miracle Worker AM Pads $59
I believe Philosophy has sadly discontinued these but they are still available at certain shops online! These act to gently exfoliate skin while they brighten and treat skin to anti-aging antioxidants.

Em The Great Cover Up Concealer $17 (Review and Swatches)
I’ve tried a lot of concealers but I keep coming back to the hydrating formula that is the Great Cover Up! This one makes me look like I have 20 hours of sleep while remaining soft and hydrating under my tired eyes!

Benefit Lemon Aid $20
For my upper lids I conceal with Benefit Lemon Aid! I’ve been using this for like 17 years now and it is one of my favorite ways to wake up my tired eyes and give them a bright eyed look! Using this truly makes me look like I had plenty of sleep the night before when in fact I really didn’t!

Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials in Demure $27
When I’m too tired to do my eye makeup but I want to look awake, refreshed, and like I had a ton of sleep I dab a little Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials in Demure on my lids! This soft dusky pink gives my big eyes a wide awake appearance!

Josie Maran Protect + Perfect $36
This is one of my FAVORITE products for nourishing my skin and giving it that my skin but better appearance. When I’m looking tired and dull this revives my skin and gives it subtle skin evening coverage plus an SPF 47.

Makeup & Beauty products that make you look like you had 12 hours sleep sure are a god sent.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Hi–some good ideas and new products for me….a reader at another blog I follow –GWP Addict–was asking about blogs for European products. I sent a note that your blog (which is great) has many posts about Asian and European products–there were some this week. I love expanding my world! Wanted to let you know…E

Thanks Elaine for recommending me to others 🙂 I’m so glad you enjoy the beauty abroad posts!!!!!!!

Bourjois 10 Hours Sleep Effect Foundation rocks my life. Sadly, I can’t seem to find it at the nearest counter now, so will look elsewhere once I finish my nth bottle.

Wow! You get up at 4:30 am?!! I have much respect for you, Muse! I can’t even begin to fathom getting up that early. I am not a morning person and I don’t think I ever will be. I thought maybe as I got older, I’d just magically become one since a lot of people say the older you get the more you don’t sleep. But for me, I need MORE sleep now than I ever did. I’m like a teenager! I sleep all the time.

    • Isabella Muse

UGH YES Carol sad but true 🙂 I am very much not a morning person. I just can’t function lol! 😀 Haha awww! I wish I had the novelty of sleeping more but seems like I never have time to relax, I need a long a year off where I can just laze and veg haha!

I’m not a morning person either, but after I had a kid, I had to become one, since it’s the ONE alarm that can’t be turned off or put on snooze LOL But I totally miss sleeping in (sigh). But to look awake, I like to mix the Becca liquid highlighters with my foundation.

Is that how you manage to put out so many blog posts? 4:30am is so incredibly early. You’re my hero. I just use lots of concealer, highlighter and coffee to look and feel awake. I feel like I need something stronger though, great list!

    • Isabella Muse

haha thanks Lamesha 🙂 I guess it is part of the reason but also I dabble around during my day too to update comments and such 🙂 haha! Yeah maybe a shot of vodka in the AM would wake us up lol!

  • Miss D

Wow, I had no idea you got up that early to update this blog! Thank you for doing that; your blog really helps some of us just get through the day when we have a rough day. You truly put smiles on all your readers faces, so thank you for putting in the extra time.
Just please make sure you get some rest now and then…I want you to stay a healthy, rested Musey! 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

aw thanks Miss D that means so much to me xoxoxoxoxo! But of course 🙂
