Jessica Simpson Ten Eau de Parfum

Jessica Simpson celebrates her 10th fragrance anniversary in style with the release of the new Jessica Simpson Ten Eau de Parfum. Jessica Simpson Ten part of a limited edition capsule collection to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Jessica’s eponymous billion-dollar fashion and lifestyle empire.

As I look back I can’t help but remember Jessica’s Dessert Fragrance and Beauty Collection. Remember that? To this day I still appreciate the hoard of goodies I still have left over from that collection. It was truly a great collection for the gourmand fragrance lovers.

Since Dessert, there’s been other fragrances that have launched many of which are favorites of fans of both Jessica and just her perfumes in general. My personal favorite is Fancy! This is such a gorgeous sugary caramel gourmand.

I think Ten steps away from sweet though and takes on a little bit more of a sophisticated blend because, hey, with age, comes some growth right?

Jessica worked in collaboration with perfumer, Marypiere Julien, of Givaudan, to create her new fragrance. Marypiere Julien is actually the nose behind one of my very favorite fragrances, Kate Walsh’s Boyfriend!

Ten comes housed in shimmering gold crescent bottle with a white feather that wraps around the top of the bottle which symbolizes the brands free spirited style and sense of modern Americana. “The feather represents truth and lightness and is symbolic for me; it has become an icon we are carrying throughout the collection,” notes Simpson. It’s also a nod to Jessica’s signature fragrance released in last year and a perfect complimentary piece when paired together with that bottle.

Ten has sweet fruity notes of clementine, starfruit, nectarine, plum and watery fruits but the body is a soft, delicate floral bouquet of notes that include lily, jasmine, and orange flower. On first spray there’s a powerful burst of fruity sweet notes. I don’t really smell any particular fruit on that initial spritz but the scent has a syrupy sweetness that’s very pleasant to my nose as I love sweet fragrances. Apparently it has a base of vanilla, white chocolate bean, tonka, and sandalwood but I don’t really get much of the white chocolate here. On the general dry down you can start to catch little back notes of the white floral notes. They kinda twist around the sweetness and give the blend a sophisticated feel. As it dries down further, within an hour or so, you’ll find it gets a touch warmer and the floral notes play with the vanilla and sandalwood notes!

What starts out sugary sweet ends in a very warm, clean envelope of fragrance that’s very feminine and gorgeous!

I find the wear fairly good at around four hours on three spritzes. The throw is fairly good as well as I got quite a few compliments asking, “What is that you’re wearing!?” At around hour five I did feel the need for a touch up as the fragrance fades a little bit at this point.

All in all Jessica Simpson Ten Eau de Parfum is testimony to the brand’s evolution. This is a clean, white floral fragrance that’s sure to please those who like touches of sweetness with a heart of beautiful floral notes that strike to perfect balance between fruit and floral!

Jessica Simpson Ten is available now at Macy’s, hsn.com, and other fine fragrance locations.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse.
