Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara Review

Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro

Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara is a new Covergirl Spring 2016 permanent mascara releasing in drugstores now that promises “extreme plump and lift with 50x volume”.

As with most Covergirl mascara formulas, Plumpify Blast Pro isn’t really for me.

Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara

Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara is Covergirl’s typical larger than life mascara with a club-like applicator that promises to make your lashes look incredibly full and long.

I’m a little immune to Covergirl Mascaras because they always look great in ads and commercials but I never get the results everyone seems to be getting. I think you might have to have longer, fuller lashes already to enjoy some of Covergirl’s formulas. I consider my lashes long but not sure I’d call them full.

This contains a new spiral rounded brush that promises to lift and plump lashes but technically I’m just trying to not poke my eye out when using it. I just find CG’s applicators are a little TOO large sometimes.

This isn’t a fiber formula but during removal it does seem to have some sort of tubing but I noticed no issues with flaking or smudging during the wear on my drier eyes. I would say I got fairly nice length from it but that length was light and fluttery which isn’t a look I personally go for. I like thicker, fuller, and longer versus fluttery and natural which is what Plumpify seems to do for my lashes. It separates lashes and draws them upwards and outwards producing a nice length that’s for sure. I just like a bit more drama myself you know? To me it kinda works the same as Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara just with a different and larger brush. I will say the brush was a pain because I couldn’t quite reach the lashes at the inner corner of my eye.

It also proves a little bit of a pain to remove. I use a bi-phase eye makeup remover to remove my mascara and eye makeup and I had to keep saturating a cotton pad to get all of this off my lashes and still had some on as I headed in to cleanse my face. As far as I know this isn’t even a waterproof formula so if you have issues with smudging this might just be an awesome pick for you. However, there’s room for potential breakage if your lashes are a little whimpy or weak as removal isn’t necessarily easy.

Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara just wasn’t dramatic enough for me sadly. It offered length but the advertised “extreme plump” action just wasn’t to be found.

Covergirl Plumpify Blast Pro Mascara is available now at drugstores.

I purchased this item.

That brush could be used to clean my toilet it’s that big ! I love the formulas of Cover Girl mascara but the brushes are usually way too big so I avoid buying them. I do love the clump crusher due to its smaller wand, and lash exact was my HG mascara but they discontinued it here in Canada.

Couldn’t agree more. They seem to get larger and larger and larger. I’m actually kinda scared of them ha!

I bought this mascara the other day and had the exact same results as you. I’m curious, what is your current favorite mascara?

I bought and use the CG Super Sizer. This one works well for me.
BUT this is seriously gigantic. How can you not hit your eyeballs with this.

I actually like a dry formula for mascara cause it makes my lashes more fuller (I do have thick hair strands) and with the Super Sizer, I was disappointed because it’s wet and I don’t like it when a mascara makes my lashes like I can count them (how the Miss Manga ad looks). Volume and Clump Crusher are my HG mascara and I just ran out of them and I’m stuck with the Super Sizer.

I like the ball/rounded end of the wand but otherwise that thing is just too big. I already know I’d be stabbing myself in the eye with it and getting mascara all over my lids. Speaking of… do you know of a good dupe for the L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion mascara that had a wand like the Givenchy mascara? I’ll have used up my last tube in month or two and it’s heartbreaking.

Why do they keep discontinuing makeup I like? I am not over the loss of my favorite Shiseido concealer yet but thankfully my last tube will last me a little longer.

    That brush looks dangerous!

Their Super Sizer mascara is my all-time favorite.

I’m using this product currently and I couldn’t be happier.
The results are instant the brush I’m in love with as it slides in and out of the tub perfectly and when you apply the mascara onto your lashes you see the volume with one coat no clumping no mess no false advertisement. The product is as it states and I love it I’m so thankfull to covergirl.plumpify.
