J.Cat Beauty Liptitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain Review & Swatches
Currently I’m obsessed with J.Cat Beauty Liptitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain ($5.99). This semi-matte lip stain or liquid lipstick according to moi has intense color pay off and has a lovely, lightweight formula that doesn’t try lips out.
Loves it!
J.Cat Beauty Liptitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain is a little misleading in the marketing as they call lip color but not a lipstick nor a gloss but a long wearing stain. To me the formula has the high intensity of a lipstick and the formula of a thicker gloss or liquid lipstick so not so much a stain. But we’ll talk more about the lip stain aspect in a sec.
Hey, was this really $6 bucks? Actually I got it for around three and some change because I used an Ulta coupon so SCORE! J. Cat has been around for a while but I never tried any of their line until Ulta.com started carrying and I’m glad I did because the Girls Gone Bad shade in the Liptitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain formula is pretty amazing.
This comes in a chubby little tube that holds 0.42 oz of product with an attached sponge applicator for application. The formula is thick and slightly creamy with a balmy-like consistency that feels lightly hydrating on lips. It glides on smooth and foolproof but don’t get it on your fingers or anywhere else because it stains and tends to get all over everything. I was doing a little clean up duty with a tissue on my lower lip line to remove excess and mistakenly got it on my fingers. I proceeded to touch my face and counter and from there, well, it just got on everything and everywhere. It was the weirdest thing! I kept cleaning it up and before you know it I noticed it was on something else.
Anyway….
I didn’t find the texture tacky or sticky but it wore for a solid five hours and left behind a deep red stain after it wore away. It has a tiny hint of a shine and has a thicker formula that resembles the new Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Colors and the new Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks. But as I said far more thicker! I’d say this had the consistency of a balm that was liquefied but it also has the thickness of a liquid lipstick but not the drier matte finish but a more emollient and slightly shiny one. Color is intense on the single shade I tried with full opaque pay off at a single layer and only better when built.
I really don’t feel it is a stain in any sense of the word aside from the fact that when it wears down it does leave behind a staining effect that does wear for a few hours after the lip color has faded away so yeah, there’s that.
All in all J.Cat Beauty Liptitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain is a cheap as chips liquid lipstick that has plenty of wow factors including being weightless, pigmented, and comfortable to wear formula just to name a few.
Do indulge!
