Covergirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick Review & Swatches
Covergirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick ($7.99) is a new, ten shade selection of lipsticks that launched with the newest Covergirl Queen Because We Rule Collection for Spring 2016.
The Covergirl Queen Collection features deeper, richer, warm shades for warmer, darker skin tones. I really like some of the Queen Collection launches as they tend to launch really great reds and oranges in this collection that are super pigmented and gorgeous. That’s part of what drew me to the Covergirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick range! There are so many great, warmer reds in this collection and I fell in love with.
For me the Covergirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick is kinda just a re-release of Covergirl Outlast Long Wear Lipstick in new shades as the formulas are quite similar just newly packaged, newly named, and available in a new range of colors. They even have the same annoying packaging that won’t twist completely down as the Outlast Collection. Major packaging pet peeve!
I’ve always felt the Revlon Ultra HD formula was a bit too heavy and prefered the Outlast Long Wear Lipstick’s thinner texture. Like Outlast, Stay Luscious has a thinner, lighter consistency but still a formula that is apparent when worn and makes itself known. Again, like Outlast, this promises a moisturizing wear with a waterproof formula. Personally Outlast are not moisturizing to be nor is the Stay Luscious Lipstick one. This is a satiny finish this moisturizing but not trying either.
They have a very good application with tons of pigmentation. The creamy texture is very smooth and provides an even finish on lips that doesn’t cling to drier areas. It’s a very flawless almost semi-matte finish that feels satiny with a wear of around five hours without migration of feathering issues. It does transfer though to cups, straws, etc…!
Covergirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick is pretty much a newly repackaged version of Covergirl Outlast Long Wear Lipstick in new shades. There are some keeper shades here so the collection is worth exploring if you like richer reds, oranges, and berries. It isn’t really my favorite drugstore lipstick but it isn’t a bad one that’s for sure.
Covergirl Queen Collection Stay Luscious Lipstick is launching now at drugstores or get them now at drugstore.com.
