Colourpop Aquarius Lippie Stix is what I had hoped Laura Mercier Milky Way would be like. I recently picked up the Sephora Give Me Some Nude Set and it was Laura Mercier’s Milky Way Creme Smooth Lip Colour. I had high hopes for this shade as I thought it would be more of a pinker nude but unfortunately, it was, well, a baby poop shade. Just keeping it real people, just keeping it real!
The shade has a really strong milky brown undertone that just wasn’t flattering on me. Oh well!
But hey, that’s where Colourpop Aquarius Lippie Stix comes in plus it’s cheaper!
Colourpop Aquarius Lippie Stix ($5) is a gorgeous nude with pink undertones that I can wear. I’m surprised the pink works so well for me as you think it would be better suited to a paler skin tone but this shades pink undertones offset the tan in the shade and make it a very wearable shade of nude.
This shade is a cream finish that has a creamy consistency but it does accentuate my natural lip lines and color seems to fall into those lines so a clear balm under them work best to keep color smooth and flawless. It didn’t tug or drag during application but applied with a very thick, creamy texture however, it does tend to look dry on my lips and also feels dry so again, lip balm is key for a more flawless look. It wears for a solid five hours and didn’t feather or migrate. They have a very, very faint vanilla flavor and fragrance.
Colourpop Aquarius Lippie Stix is one of those nude that’s going in my little kit of workable nudes for my skin tone! If you want a true nude with a wearable pink undertone Colourpop Aquarius Lippie Stix is your girl!
