Urban Decay Walk of Shame Waterline Eye Pencil

You might need to get your bell out and start shouting SHAME! SHAME! SHAME! because Urban Decay Walk of Shame 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil ($20), which launched with the Urban Decay Summer 2016 Collection, hasn’t improved much on the Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil formula.

Shame on you, UD!

Why?!

Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencils launched earlier last Fall with the Urban Decay Holiday 2015 Collection. The idea of a pencil created exclusively to use on the inner rim of your waterline sounded positively awesome. Originally these eyeliners were offered in five shade selections and promises waterproof all day wear on your waterline with a creamy formula that had a demi-matte finish. Wait? Creamy and matte? That’s great! Creamy makes for easy application on the waterline and a matte finish means it’ll surely wear all day.

Not so much.

I love the idea of an eyeliner created exclusively for use on your waterline a lot more than I love the way it works or the formula for that matter.

Walk of Shame is a light beige nude shade which obviously was created to give that wide awake appearance. Honestly, I always look like a zombie when I use nude eyeliner on my waterline so that was one point against this product. But color aside, I also dislike the formula. Thankfully it isn’t as dry as the original Waterline Eye Pencils that UD released but it is still dry enough that I actually can’t get the color to apply on my waterline at all. The pencil isn’t terribly creamy and doesn’t have an easy glide on the waterline. You really need something with a gel-like or cream consistency to use on the waterline. This is sadly a harsher matte that’s a little painful to apply as it drags without actually leaving behind any color. I will say it is a little more creamier than the original pencils but not by much.

The idea is a good one but the actual application sucks.

Sorry UD!

Considering Urban Decay excels at creating excellent 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliners I just can’t understand how they get the 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil formula so very wrong!

Urban Decay Walk of Shame 24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil is available now at urbandecay.com and should be available later this month at Sephora, Sephora.com, Ulta, and Ulta.com.

Bummer, especially for 20 bucks! I find that the Rimmel Scandaleyes waterproof kohl pencils are the be all and end all of waterline pencils! Best of all, you can get about 3 of them for the cost of 1 UD pencil! They make a super pale matte blue one that brightens eyes soooo much more than a nude or even white pencil does. These are worth every penny!
