After trying Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb so I felt sure that Belif Aqua Gel Oil ($48) would be the next logical selection from Belif’s Skincare Collection. Aqua Gel oil sounds interesting as it promises a gel to oil consistency that deeply hydrates skin. As someone who has drier skin and enjoys using facial oils I felt sure I’d love this formula.

Let’s take a look!

Belif Aqua Gel Oil

Belif Aqua Gel Oil is actually one of the brand’s more expensive offerings at $48 holding a mere 1.68 oz of product, but if it turned out as good as the True Cream Moisturizing Bomb, I wouldn’t have minded the price in the least.

This is a lightweight gel that absorbs very into the skin with an fresh aquatic fragrance that’s mineral oil free. It promises to provide long lasting hydration without heaviness and also locks moisture in and retains it. It’s very light as promises with a gel-like consistency that absorbs easily and feels very refreshing on the initial application. It does not cause unnecessary shine or oil and can be easily used in the day as well as in the evening before moisturizer.

Sadly, the lightweight texture was lovely but didn’t do much for my dry skin. This might be a better option for oily or combination skin types but those with drier skin will feel it isn’t enough moisture. I’m not sure what I expected, but the gel-to-oil texture just wasn’t here! It was simply a quick absorbing gel that left my skin feeling a little tight after use. Mind you, this wasn’t an unbearably tight feeling or a dry one. It just felt like it firmed my skin a bit. I wouldn’t say it helped retain moisture nor did it add any moisture to my skin. After my experience with The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb, I expected something very, very hydrating in the Aqua Oil, but I didn’t get that in the least.

All in all, I felt this was a little expensive for what it actually did. Which sadly, happened to be very little. Drier skin types might want to skip this one but I can see it be potentially loved by combination or oily ones.

Belif Aqua Gel Oil is available now at Sephora.com.

You’re absolutely right about this product. I have oily skin and it’s the perfect moisturizer for me. It’s a lightweight, fresh, quickly absorbing dream for my skin. Sorry it didn’t work for you.
