I was stunned at how much I like the Revlon Ultra HD lippies! They wear longer than I expected, I like how they smell and the matte down is not completely drying. I will def give the Maybelline formula a try the next time they are on sale. 😉

    • Isabella Muse

agreed! I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked these. You’ll enjoy Maybelline’s formula if you loved Revlon’s 🙂

  • Heidi

I love the Revlon HD lippie. They feel nice and light. I’m on the fence about the Maybelline, though. The smell of their lipsticks lately has been too strong for me to take, though the formulas tend to be really good.
Agreed on the Burt’s Bees lipstick. And I want to go try the Sephora cushion matte now.

    • Isabella Muse

I agree! Both L’Oreal and Maybelline taste horrible! 🙁 The cushion matte is quite interesting! It’s like a matte lip stain!

  • Dora

Agree about the Revlon Ultra HD. For < $10, I really like the Maybelline Color Elixir lip glosses and for lipstick, the Maybelline Color Sensationals. (I even like their weird dirt/clay/play-do scent.) I feel like I have to try those Burt's Bees lipsticks.

  • LS

Burt’s Bees lipstick in Sunset Cruise is one of my favorites!

I also like the darker NYX butter glosses. The lighter ones have too little color payoff for my taste.

Also, I have an Ulta Lip Butter in a berry shade that is shockingly pigmented on the lips!

    • Isabella Muse

NYX is always a solid pick for great glosses/lipstick and on a budget 😀 good picks LS!

I’ve only tried one of the revlon liquid mattes and i was disappointed with it..it is a vivid pink shade and it applies very patchy. I must admit that my lips have been terribly chapped, so i will give it another go when they get better. I’m totally psyched to try the burts bees, i’ve heard all good things about the formula, and i love their lip shimmer.

  • Katelyn

Oh my god, the essence lipstick in barely there is one of my favorite lipsticks ever!!

  • amy

In my 30+ years of wearing makeup, I honestly have yet to find one worth spending more than $10 on… I’ve had just as many “fails” on the HE side, and had a severe reaction to a “Luxury” brand, so I just stick to DS. Besides, I have only really finished less than 5 in my lifetime, and tossing out a $5 product stings a lot less than a $50 one!

  • Colleen

Good finds! I have been loving the new lipsticks from Shea Moisture (the ones that look like traditional lipstick, I don’t like the twist up crayon ones as much). They are $9.99 at Ulta and they are REALLY nice, no weird taste or smell, very comfortable to wear.

    • Isabella Muse

I have yet to try Shea Moisture makeup anything! Need to redeem that 🙂

  • Zovesta

NYX’s butter glosses, ULTA’s weightless lipstick formula, WnW’s silk and regular formula, and just about every Milani lip formula. =) I have an essence lipstick, but haven’t worn it much – got buried in the remodeling craze. I must dig it out!
