Do Indulge in Purplecat Creatives Body Butter

You might recall me mentioning Purplecat Creatives in my recent 5 Etsy Indie Fragrance Houses You Simply Must Try for Yourself post. I admit I have a lot of indie fragrance spots I like to purchase from but Purplecat Creatives is a fond favorite of mine!

I decided to indulge in some of Purplecat Creative Body Butter recently. I wasn’t thinking of layering with these because her fragrances are already very strong all their own. But I thought I’d skip the fragrance on Summer days and rely on her body butters for a moisture as well as a lighter layer of fragrance instead. I hadn’t yet tried anything else from her shop aside from her perfumes so this was a good excuse to spoil myself as she has a few limited edition fragrances like Caramel Pretzel that I wanted to try.

I really, really love this shop and I really, really wish she’d do more than perfume and bath and body. Tarts would me amazing! But I’ll take what I get because there are some great, unique fragrances here.

One of my favorites, Raven’s Blend, which is this absolute decadent blend of Fresh brewed coffee with dark chocolate, warm caramel, hazelnuts, almonds and cream. If you’re at all familiar with Tod’s blends from Alternative Breeding/Universal Voodoo you’ll recognize this fragrance as it smells very much like Honey Roast. Over ten years ago, Tod made me a soap in the Honey Roast fragrance and I swooned upon getting as his specialty is wax and wax only so it was a special treat to receive a bath and body gift from him in one of my favorite blends. Last year, I discovered Raven’s Blend and I was overjoyed to finally have my favorite scent in a perfume!

Another one of my favorites here is Firecracker which is a a blend mangoes with rose and neroli blossom and red pepper and cinnamon. This smells like Wrigley’s Spearmint Gum and Big Red Gum had a baby. It’s minty yet has a red hot sizzling cinnamon note! It’s gorgeous! The name is fitting to say the least.

I picked up several different scents in your whipped body butter including some of her new, limited edition seasonal fragrances like Chocolate Chip Mint and Rum Raisin. The Body Butter has a thick, whipped creamy consistency that takes a little work to massage into skin but once absorb leave skin soft and smooth but not sticky or tacky. As I mentioned above I purchased them in the hopes they’d be fragranced enough to work as a light way to perfume my skin on a warmer Summer day and they do in fact do that. Raven’s Blend was particularly strong as well Firecracker! These both left my skin with a lovely, lingering fragrance. Of course, you have to get up close and personal to smell them on my body but personally I get a nice little sniff of them throughout the day!

I also grabbed a few of her sample size fragrances in scents I haven’t tried. This is a great way to try out her perfumes without splurging on the full size!

I’m very pleased with my purchase! I got three larger sizes and six medium ones plus she included a slew of samples with my order!

If you’re a fan of unique fragrance I’d highly recommend indulging!
