Maybelline Shine Shot Glassy Shine Lip Topcoat

Maybelline Shine Shot Glassy Shine Lip Topcoat ($5.99) is a new, super glossy topcoat lipgloss that can be worn alone or over your favorite lip color. Shine Shot recently launched with the Maybelline Summer 2016 Collection as a companion to the new Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints. On their own the Color Jolt formula has a satiny finish where as with Shine Shot on top you can get a lacquer-like finish that brings a ton of shine to the final finish of the lip color.

I’m a massive fan of the long gone Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss and I was quite excited about checking out Maybelline Shine Shot Glassy Shine Lip Topcoat, in the hope it would be like Mirror Mirror Lipgloss. Lucky enough, it is indeed quite similar to the texture, formula, and finish of it!

Maybelline Shine Shot Glassy Shine Lip Topcoat is 0.5 oz in size and comes packaged in a clear tube. The topcoat is only available in a single clear shade but I’d be completely willing to purchase colored versions should Maybelline have an inkling to release a few since I loved the formula.

Not everyone is going to love this formula. It’s a very thick, sticky gel-like consistency! It’s one of those glosses that your hair will stick to it! Personally, I loved it. The thicker formula didn’t bother me at all nor did the stickiness as it wore quite comfortably on my drier lips. The thing I loved most about it was obviously the intense shiny finish. You can use it on top of lipsticks, other lipglosses, lip stains, anything you want to add a lacquer-like shine too. It looks particularly amazing on the new Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paints as these are very, very pigmented and adding a bit of this to the mix gives that formula a gorgeous pop of shine. It also wears for quite a long time. I can get a solid five hours of shine from a single application! Believe me if you used and loved Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss, you’re going to be very, very happy with the Shine Shot formula! For sensitive users, this does have a subtle vanilla fragrance and taste that disappears fairly quick enough after application!

You look great Muse! How is the Jolt lip? Is it long wearing? The red color looks great on you.
