Patience is Required with Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

So for me, Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser is like a no frills version of Kate Somerville Exfolikate and it does require patience because results aren’t terribly visible after a few uses.

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser contains 5% glycolic acid and acts to deeply clean skin and reveal a smoother, softer complexion. It also contains moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and avocado oil!

Most would disagree but Exfolikate actually works a treat for me. I think it does a great job smoothing, softening, and leave my skin with a lovely glow. It contains some fairly harsh ingredients so, I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone but I really like the results using it.

To me, Pixi’s Glow Mud Cleanser formula is like a lighter more gentle version of Kate’s formula. This a smooth, creamy cleanser that isn’t grainy so, it is more of a chemical exfoliating formula versus a physical one. It doesn’t lather nor does it foam up. I personally didn’t feel like it worked great at removing makeup but it is a product that works well as a follow up treatment cleanser of sorts. If you double cleanse, this might be a great secondary cleanser to use or one to use on an already clean face as I didn’t feel like it broke down makeup very well. It does smell a little like Kate’s formula (cinnamon-like) and even almost looks like it as it is a great, creamy paste-like texture.

I used an entire bottle and I never felt like it did a damn thing for me. But after I stopped using it that’s when I noticed how it was actually resurfacing my skin considerably. Funny, when you’re using a product and don’t notice a change but suddenly you go without using a week or even two weeks and you’re all of a sudden like, “Wait, what just happened?”

This was the case for me. I used it daily for nearly two months and never felt my skin looked visibly different. After finishing off the tube I went back to my normal cleansing routine. The thing I noticed most was the fact that my moisturizer absorbed so much more easily when using this and also how soft and smooth my makeup looked. So, rather than clinging to my face my foundation and blush looked so much smoother and softer. I did experience some tightness using this cleanser but moisturizer, as I said, absorbed easier and my skin was overall, much, much more softer when I used this daily versus the two weeks after I stopped.

So yeah, you need a bit of patience with this one and you might not see the effects visibly or even notice them but believe me it works a treat at smooth and softening skin!

I like!

And yes, I did repurchase it!

Thanks for the review! Exfolikate was much too harsh for me, but maybe I’ll give this a try as an alternative. I know exactly what you mean about realizing just how effective a product really is only after you stop using it! Those often wind up being some of my favorites, too.

it’s weird right? I went over 2 months using this and never felt it did a damn thing until I stopped using it! 😀

Everything I’ve tried in the skin line from PIXI has been nothing but amazing.

This is on the list. So happy to hear it’s a dupe for Kate’s. I love hers but hate the price tag so I can replace hers with this! Thanks for the review as always 😉

    Isabella:
Do you ever use this as a mask?? That’s actually what I use use it for mostly! I LOVE it but I love Skintreats. I have not stopped using Glow Tonic since I first purchased over a year ago (here in Florida) It’s is a mainstay. I, too, am with you on the whole not realizing how great a product is til you stop using it!! I’m pregnant and wasn’t using my Glow Tonic and my GOSH at the breakouts! I’ve since begun using it again and I’m hopeful that it’ll help get rid of these nasty Lil buggers. I’m already noticing that it seems to help heal them quicker and more gently (along with CeraVe pm lotion, day and night)
    Btw, love your blog!

I haven’t, Lo! I’m going to try that 😀 I love Glow Tonic too! Great product! It’s definitely fab on my drier skin, I don’t have any issues with breakouts but this gently exfoliates and makes my skin look and feel so much smoother 🙂 Aw thanks so much! So glad you enjoy my blog! xoxoxoxo! Happy Holidays dear!
