Rodin Olio Lusso Lip Balm Ring

The Too Faced Totally Cute Palette for Fall 2016 didn’t turn out quite as popular as the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette did it? Too Faced went very kawaii with their Fall 2016 offerings and I applaud them for it at some level as with the increasing popularity of Korean makeup and beauty here in the US it fits right into that beauty trend doesn’t it?

However, as a lover of all things cute and sweet, especially makeup and beauty, I was a little put off my the entire “decorate your own eyeshadow palette with stickers!!!” Yeah, there’s a line to be drawn sometimes and this particular palette crossed it for me.

You know what else draws the line for me? Lip Balm rings! Dude, I haven’t worn a lip balm ring since I was like 8. So, imagine my surprise when I noticed the Rodin Olio Lusso one on Nordstrom’s site. An eyebrow or two might have been raised.

I’ve actually tried the original Rodin Olio Lusso Lip Balm and liked it a lot however, I’m not sure I need it in a ring packaging. I’d feel mighty foolish bouncing around with a lip balm ring on my fingers.

This contains the original Rodin Olio Lusso Lip Balm which has a delightful jasmine and neroli scent with a sheer finish that moisturizes lips with shea butter, beeswax, and castor seed oil. Only difference would be the ring packaging. Yup, pop it on your finger and roll around town with your lip balm at the ready.

I’m sad to say I think I’ve out grown lip balm rings….!

How about you?

Silly or totally practical?

Do share!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Totally silly – Not gonna do it. Seriously, who are they marketing this to? It’s too expensive to give to a kid, and too doofy for an adult…. I call *WHACKO* on their marketing department…

Welcome back, Muse! Missed your posts terribly! 🙂 Looking forward to a ton o’posts for the fall collections!

It’s too silly for me too, can’t picture myself walking around with a lip balm ring! Come on, really? lol! Thanks Kim! Missed ya back!

Skipped that silly palette and am skipping this. My teeny pop days are over and done with thank-you.
Hope you had an awesome cruise and so glad you are back safe and sound.

hey Dena thanks! Good to be back 😀 <3! Mine are too sadly lol! I just can't see myself walking around with a lip balm ring!

I thought decorating the palette with stickers was fun. I don’t see how decorating it is childish, tbh. Oh well, some people are just boring. They probably only have ugly beige furniture in their houses, and no color.

I’m glad you enjoyed the palette Christina! That’s great! I thought it was a bit juvenile, I love cute things but this didn’t really strike a chord with me. I don’t think not liking that particular palette makes everyone boring, it’s just personal preference and taste! Lucky enough, my home isn’t filled with ugly beige furniture either! Phew!

I bought and like the Too Faced palette. I thought the stickers were fun, but one can leave the palette plain. The lip gloss rings strike me more as looking cheap, but to each their own. They could be convenient at beach. I’m not into them, though.

This little ring is actually kinda cute, and to tell the truth, I’d wear it somewhere really casual, like……………….I don’t know. But for 15 dollas?! Too many numbers in the price tag. This should be a gift with purchase on the actual product.

Yeah, no hate to anyone who likes that stuff (my aunt is nearly 50 and still loves stickers), but it’s just not for me. I’ve always loved Too Faced’s more subtle “cute and girly” theme, not so big on the overt kawaii! Also, lmao at the expensive lip balm ring.
