exfoliating wipes

Exfoliating wipes aren’t new but they sure are popular at the moment and totally the new trend to get smooth, soft skin. Most of the new exfoliating wipes popping up have two sides one of which is a harsher fabric that you’ll use to exfoliate your face. The other side has a softer fabric to sooth and refresh your skin after scrubbing with the harsher side.

Interesting concept? Possibly! I use a towel to exfoliate my face from time to time so, using a wipe isn’t any great chore! You might recall Olay Fresh Effects As Fresh As New Exfoliating Wet Cloths Review from a few year’s ago, I actually really liked these wipes and I purchased them a few times after originally trying them! But it’s been a while and Kiko recently got me hyped up about exfoliating wipes as everyone and their mom keeps chatting their Pure Clean Scrub & Peel Exfoliating Wipes also Sephora has an entire range of Cleansing & Exfoliating Wipes they recently introduced.

Here’s a look at this new skincare trend!

Possibly one of the most intriguing collections of exfoliating wipes comes to us from Sephora. They went all out with their two-sided wipes and offer them in assortment of fragrances and formulas! They act to remove makeup and thanks to the tiny microbeads embedded into the fabric of each while they’ll also effectively exfoliate your skin which results in a smoother, softer finish!

Formulas include:
Coconut Water Cleansing Wipes: Cleanse while soothing, relaxing, and softening.
Rose Cleansing Wipes: Cleanse while brightening and providing ultra-hydration.
Yuzu Cleansing Wipes: Cleanse while revitalizing and toning.
Green Tea Exfoliating Wipes: Matiffy and fight the appearance of blemishes while cleansing.
Charcoal Exfoliating Wipes: Purify and detoxify with charcoal, which draws out impurities and pollutants like a magnet.

Each pack is $7.50, includes 25 wipes and is available at Sephora.com.

Let’s not forget the wipes that potentially started this trend! Kiko Pure Clean Scrub & Peel Wipes ($9/20 Wipes at kikocosmetics.com) have a textured side that acts to gently exfoliate skin while the opposite side is soft and delightful cool to refresh skin after scrubbing. The formula contains alpha hydroxy acids that acts to remove dead cells as well as panthenol to soften!

Want something a little more gentle and fragrance-free? Simple Kind to Skin Exfoliating Wipes ($5.09/25 Wipes at Ulta.com) also have a dual side and formulated without harsh irritants that can upset your skin. These contain pro-vitamin B5 to soften skin as well as Vitamin E to hydrate it as well as Aloe Vera. The dual-sided wipe can be used to gently exfoliate away dead skin cells while softening and smoothing it.

I tried the Sephora ones in store. Now I love me anything exfoliating, but those were too harsh even for me, like sandpapery status rough. I really enjoy the Equate exfoliating cleansing towelettes from Evilma…err, Walmart. And they’re less than $7 for 120, so I don’t have to venture into the darkness too often. 😛

OH NO!haha ok must skip! can’t deal with sandpaper 😀 haha will have to venture into the evil empire to get those!

I’ve been meaning to pickup some exfoliating wipes to keep in my makeup kit, for clients who have dry flakey skin. (Nothing worse than doing a beautiful makeup application, but having clients’ skin flaking off of the foundation!) Excited to find out there are so many options, and that the Equate ones from Walmart have such great reviews! Unfortunately it seems the Olay ones are hard to find and expensive now.

I tried the Simple ones and they were far too rough so I exchanged them for the sensitive skin formula and was much happier. I loved the Olay ones but they disappeared locally.

The Olay wipes are still available from target.com and are only $5.99. They are still my favorite but I have to admit I am getting hooked on the Say Yes to Charcoal wipes. They do an amazing job and smell really good!

How can Sephora’s wipes have the evil microbeads in them? I thought everyone had to phase the microbeads out?

I’ve been using the Roc Resurfacing Disks for years and love them. I cut them in half to double the number and always rinse with warm water. Looking forward to trying the ones you recommended!
