I adore the packaging!!!!!!! I just signed up for text alerts for you on Twitter, now, I’ll never miss another post! yay! <3

They call it the color vibe palette but where’s the color??? It looks like multiple shades of pinks and Browns and neutral colors! Where are the blues, greens, yellows, oranges??? It’s so bland for a color vibe palette

    • Britt

I agree. Some of the shades made me go “Oooh!” but most of them were pretty basic.

  • Sandy

This is made in China. Is it not as good as the eyeshadow made in the US?

    • Agona

I’m always wary of tarte’s holiday palettes…a lot of them are lower quality than what is released during the year.

  • Caroline

I like the look of the palette, but I’m not sure I understand the one random greenish-gray shade in there amidst a sea of brown and taupe. What am I missing??

  • Robin

Aside from base coat, those all look like they have some satin or shimmer to them….is that right? Are there any mattes?

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not sure, they don’t say whether they are matte or shimmer and I haven’t seen it in person yet!

  • Britt

I really love the packaging and 2 or 3 of the colors are really gorgeous but I wouldn’t want to buy the whole palette for just a few shades. I feel like most of these shades are basic neutrals I already have. :\

  • Maria

I like the packaging. It looks a lot like the previous holiday palettes that QVC had in the past as today special for the holidays. I have these sets. Also too many Browns and neutrals and one blue green shade. It is made in China. I noticed with Tarte that the eye palettes made in China is lower quality than those made in USA. I will save -$46 plus tax.

I was totally loving this palette and thinking about buying it. But now that I know it is made in China, I will not buy this. I think for a Chinese Product it is overpriced. And the quality is not as great as the American made Tarte Products. I will save my money as well. Thanks to all those for pointing out where this product was produced. It has helped me decide whether to purchase this Palette, or not. I try not to buy makeup products made in China.

      • Isabella Muse

How do we know it is made in China? I didn’t see that on the website. Curious minds?

        • Maria

          Hi Muse. If you look
On Tarte website it states made in China under the ingredients.

          • Isabella Muse

            thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn’t see it!

    • Agona

Oddly enough, I think tarte’s best palette recently was the Rainforest of the Sea…which was made in Portugal, if I remember correctly. I wonder why they outsource so much?

  • Maria

You are welcome. Are you still interested in this palette? I am passing since I have similar shades from other Tarte palettes

    • Isabella Muse

I am! Made in China actually doesn’t prevent me from purchasing anything as I’ve run into plenty of products that were made in China and good 😀 I’m not sure on this color range though, that’s the only thing holding me up!

  • Cheryl

So, Ms. Muse, I need some assistance here. I think the shades in this pallete are really pretty, but not terribly different from some palettes that I already have. I have all three of the It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty matte palettes, and all four of the Coastal Scents Revealed palettes (Boxycharm subscription). There are a lot of finishes and shades between those seven, and I doubt there is anything unique in the new Tarte palette. That said, I don’t own any Tarte eyeshadow and I am curious about the formula. Is it as nice as their blush formula? I just received the big blush book 2 in the mail today and was very impressed when I swatched it. I am wondering if there is that much of a difference in formula between the Tarte eyeshadows and what I already have to justify purchasing this item simply to try a new brand. I trust your judgment, Isabella. What are your thoughts? Buy? Pass? Or sit tight and wait for the rest of the holiday releases? I don’t own any Too Faced eye products either, and am also tempted to try some, As I really enjoy the face products that I own from both Tarte and Too Faced (and It).

For context, I am in my 40s and fairly conservative, but I do enjoy the pampering and “me time” that goes into pre-work make up application. Weekends, well those are ponytail days. Thank you!!!

I haven’t tried this yet Cheryl so I’m not sure 🙁 It just launched yesterday so, I haven’t even seen it in person. Can’t really recommend something I haven’t even touched 🙂 But if I do try it I’ll like you know! Typically I love Tarte Eyeshadows but it is hit or miss sometimes with the formula. Once I try this I’ll let you know!

          • Cheryl

You gave me the courtesy of a very nice reply. That deserves thanks!

          • Isabella Muse

aw 🙂 it was nothing! xox! You should check my archives for past tarte holiday reviews until I actually get this palette to review 😀

  • Cheryl

Will do. I was not aware that there was such inconsistency in the quality of Tarte’s powder products, so I’m glad I asked.

    • Isabella Muse

there is! Tarte used to be a beloved favorite of mine for eyeshadows, but now it’s a little hit or miss! It really depends! Sometimes the Holiday Set is awesome, sometimes not so much!

  • Cheryl

I will scrape together what little patience I have and wait for some reviews. Thanks a bunch!
