The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick Set Review & Swatches
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick Set is a new, limited edition Holiday 2016 launch that includes six shades of the Balm Meet Matte Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipsticks. Liquid lipstick is dominating the makeup and beauty market right now but if I had to pick one as a favorite, and mind you I don’t wear long lasting liquid lipstick all that much, the honors would go to the Meet Matte Hughes formula!
So, when I heard the Balm was making a Holiday set I thought it would be a great time for anyone who hasn’t yet tried the formula to get a little intro to it!
The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipsticks is a $29 set that features six 0.04 mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipsticks in best-selling shades from the permanent collection. If you’re just venturing into trying liquid lipsticks for the first time, looking to add to your stash of them, or you’ve been wanting to try the Balm’s formula this is a great set to purchase. Not only is this a great intro to the Balm’s liquid lipstick formula but it also includes a range of very wearable shades!
Speaking of wearable shades, this is one of the stand out features of the Balm’s Meet Matte Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in my opinion. I’ve tried every single shade in the permanent range and every single one has been utterly wearable and beautiful. No zombie lip shades here, no overly bright clown reds, the selection of colors should be universally flattering on a variety of skin tones or at least that’s proven to be the case for me. Many of the shades have an MLBB (my lips but better) finish that adds gorgeous color to my lips.
This set includes:
- Charming
- Sincere
- Committed
- Doting
- Dedicated
- Loyal
This formula is thick, creamy, and non-drying. It applies easily on my lips with fantastic pigmentation and a smooth, even finish. The formula is a lot like Tarte’s Creamy Lip Paint in the fact it doesn’t set to a completely bulletproof finish which makes it easy to remove should you want and easy to touch up as well. But it doesn’t feather, migrate, or fade through the five hour wear and doesn’t suck moisture from my lips either through that wear. I find the consistency perfectly lightweight and very comfortable. It isn’t hydrating but it isn’t drying either which is a plus for me.
Tarte Limitless Lippies Deluxe Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint Set and The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipsticks are two liquid lipsticks sets that have popped up this so far. I wonder if more brands will be releasing them considering the popularity of long-lasting cream lipsticks at the moment.
Needless to say though, the The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Mini Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick Set gets my Muse Approval for purchase!
This one is available now at thebalm.com and hopefully will launch soon at Kohl’s and kohls.com.
