I’ve been trying out the Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic Set this month and the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask is fast becoming a favorite of mine. Can I just stop this review and second and tell you about the first time I tried a Pumpkin Enzyme Mask?

It was well over ten years ago and it was a Sephora Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. I remember slathering it on and sitting at my desk to get some work done. Within seconds of application my skin started to burn like it was on fire. This was my first experience with a enzyme mask so, I honestly had no idea what to expect. Let me remind you my skin is bulletproof and resilient as hell! It takes a lot for it to freak out. But whoa, I was about to call 911 but I decided I’d brave it out. I did not last one minute with the mask on. I had to wash it off. And people, well after I rinse it off my face was still burning.

Phew!

That was some scary stuff.

I was pretty worried about the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask because that nightmare of using Sephora’s version kept popping into my head.

But guess what?

I loved it!

If you haven’t already I highly urge you to place the Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic Set on your wish list as it contains the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask as well as four other masks to try. It’s truly a great set! They released it last year but it is back again for Holiday 2016. I’m not really all that obsessed with cream masks! I prefer sheet ones as I feel like the results are more visible but Peter Roth Thomas’s Mask totally get a yay from me.

I really like ExfoliKate and this reminds me a little bit of that formula and even smells like it. The texture reminds me of the pumpkin puree that’s used in pies! It smells like pumpkin and a hint of cinnamon. Beware, this one can be harsh for sensitive users but will prove quite great if you have drier skin. I thankfully didn’t experience the horrifying burning that I did with the Sephora formula but this does tingle at first application.

It’s actually an interesting formula as it is almost a hybrid that acts as a facial scrub and a mask all in one. To use it, you’ll apply it to clean skin and massage it into your skin for a few minutes with wet fingers! After you’ve applied and massaged it on you’ll wait for 7 to 10 minutes for it to work its magic. It’ll feel a bit warming with a tingle during the wear but it didn’t bother me at all but as I said beware if you’re sensitive. After 10 minutes I wash it off with lukewarm water and gently scrub a little more during the rinsing process.

And BAM! Beautifully bright, smooth skin! It leaves my skin a touch tight after but my skin feels squeaky clean, bright, and very smooth! But moisturizer directly after goes a long way at restoring some of the moisture stripped from my skin after using the mask!

I really liked this one and can see myself working it into my normal nightly skincare routine.

The Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask and Peter Thomas Roth Mask-A-Holic Gift Set is available now at Sephora.com.

My dry skin loves this stuff! However I wish I would have waited and got the mask set instead of the full size jar! 5 oz is impossible to use up lol

I too just tried this. Alas, my skin burned a little, so I had to wash it off early. I bought it in a kit with two other masks, one of which was a cooling mask, so I followed up with that one. Much better.

Aw sorry! I just got a tingle and a bit of a sting but nothing dramatic thankfully! Don’t use it again, not work mucking with your skin over a mask!

OMG, a friend gave me a pumpkin mask as a gift and first, I felt like I was slathering pumpkin pie filling all over my face — look and smell was identical, and second, it burned like crazy. I’m sure I tossed it. I’m glad this one is better but I think I’ll stay away from pumpkin (in masks, at least).

Oh, thanks for reminding me! I have a small tube of this, used it once, heavenly smell, don’t remember any significant burning, though I don’t remember what results I did see. Will dig it out and use it again tonight.

I tried it, but honestly I didn’t see any difference on my skin, Beside being very drying; I used the Hollywood masks, the blue one, I have dry skin, I feel this one is for oil skin, not recommended for people with dry to combination skin

I got this set. I’m loving it. I tried the little black rubber thing, but I don’t think it does much. I would’ve preferred another mask, like the rose, even if smaller. His masks are really nice though. I love the pumpkin enzyme mask. Its why I got the set, but I’m really liking the blue mask as well. I think it’s algae. I haven’t tried the firming or Irish mud yet. Curious if the mud really is hydrating, as it usually dries me out.

I liked it too! Great deal and a nice way to try out all his formulas! I haven’t used the black scrubby yet! I was actually worried about using it with the pumpkin mask as that seemed a little too harsh for my skin!

I didn’t even think to try the scrubby with the pumpkin mask. I’m going for it, because it didn’t do anything with the other masks I tried.

Like this one too! I get it during the $5 sale on the PTR website when it goes on sale. The smaller size is great for travel and I don’t feel like it gets too contaminated getting my fingers into a smaller jar than the big one, if that makes sense…

Have you ever tried a similar product from Peter Lamas? I’ve heard that the two are comparable but I haven’t ever tried it.

Holy crap I’m in the bathtub as I speak with this mask on for the first time and my face was really on fire (and I have no issues with The Ordinary’s “Blood” Peel) so that was really unexpected so I googled and landed here. Glad to know I’m not the only one, and it stung for only 20 seconds phew!

Oh yeah this stuff stings like crazy! Def be careful if you’re sensitive! I love it but DAMNNNNNNNNNNNNN! I rinse with cool water after 😀
