Are smaller eyeshadow palettes going to be on trend for Spring 2017? These new Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palettes for Spring 2017 sure make it feel that way! Not to mention the itty bitty Too Faced Matte Chocolate Chip and White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palettes. So, before you know it, is everyone going to start launching small eyeshadow palettes that are under $30 bucks? These are the questions that keep me up at night!

No, seriously, I foresee everyone suddenly going smaller for the Spring/Summer seasons. We’ve been on such a mega palette kick lately it wouldn’t surprise me if brands starting going smaller! Hell, the Tarte Tarteist Pro Amazonian Eyeshadow Palette just launched and there’s already a little baby Pro To Go Eyeshadow Palette available! Who’s next to shrink their offerings? Urban Decay?

Smashbox Cover Shot Eye Palettes are pretty darn cute and should inspired interest in those who travel a lot and want a smaller palette to pack with them. Or even those of us running out of space to store things should appreciate the smaller sizes. Each palette contains eight shades that weight in at 0.27 oz total. Not to mention the palettes are available in a variety of seven different options that contain a range of different finishes like mattes and metallics that can be used to create subtle or bolder looks!

I need an eye palette like I need a hole in the head…..but the matte one is calling . Love the colors!

  • kimkat

The matte one is screaming at me right now! DANG that’s pretty – and I actually like the eensy weensy widdle pallets….. 🙂 I passed on the matte chocolate chip, and now I wish I wouldn’t have… but this may make up for it now!

Can’t believe *spring* collex are already up and running!!

  • Kimmwc03

These look promising but I’m going to wait for some reviews. Ablaze is my fav right now.

I’m glad for the smaller palette trend.

  • Agona

I would totally love for a smaller palette trend. I find 8 pans perfect. Anything more than that and I start to feel overwhelmed and intimidated!

  • Christina D.

Hey Muse! Grabbed the matte palette while I was hauling the TF White Chocolate Chip palette. If I like the matte one, I will for sure get a few more, beginning with Ablaze. I need to see the actual size, and also the quality. I usually love Smashbox but it depends which eye shadow formula they went with on these.

    • Isabella Muse

Hey sis! Got the White Chocolate Chip too (and the matte)! I was curious about these but I’m a little scared since it is a youTube collaboration, I’m always a little skeptical about quality on those! But you’ll keep me posted yes? 😀

  • Christina D.

I got the TF matte palette too (of course).

Yes, I am a bit skeptical too about the Cover Shot palettes hence I purchased only the matte one for starters although it was hard to restrain myself upon first glance at all the pretty palettes! I’ll of course let you know.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m wondering if the TF are made in china! Let me know, I trust your opinion!

  • Christina D.

Awww…that is so sweet! I’m flattered since it’s coming from you, my Sista. Hey, I learned from the best! 😉

  • Maria

Hi Muse. I ordered the Ablaze and Golden hour ones today. Love the colors. I was not Able to get the TF white chocolate chip. It was in my cart and then when I went to check out it said out of stock.

    • Isabella Muse

Awesome! Let me know how they are! Apparently Chocolate Chips will be back December 14th!

  • Maria

Muse, will the TF chocolate chips be available on Too faced website or Sephora website on December14? Thanks.

    • Isabella Muse

from my understand white chocolate is exclusive to Sephora and matte chocolate is exclusive to TF. matte chocolate is coming back December 14th but there is no word about white chocolate’s restock yet.

I prefer the smaller palettes as I find the large ones to be overwhelming, and they also take up too much space. I am really liking the Bolds one. While I don’t wear brights all that often, I really like them, and the specific bright shades chosen for that palette are the ones I would want. Especially that yummy purple, but I also like the red+orange+yellow sunset look. I think I have the neutrals pretty well covered, with the Naked palettes and the Viseart neutral matte.

  • Jean

Omg so many beautiful neutrals. I must have them all. I already spent too much. I hope they go on sale. Then I’ll snag them.

  • Silvia

These look so right in the. Olor! Nothing boring! Love the Abase! Golden Hour! Soft light Cover and the rest! Omg! So pretty!

    • Silvia

      Oops! Meant all the colors.
The mattes and the desserts are begging to come home with me! I like them all! The size migh turn out perfect actually to travel or when you have tons and tons already like I been building up my stash.

  • genevieve

The Smoky and the Metallics palettes are very pretty. Sometimes smaller is better because you get the shades you really like and use. The mega palettes can be too bulky for storage and sometimes you only end up using half the colours.

  • Christina D.

Hey Muse! I received the Eye Shot palette in Matte this morning. It is tiny! I’d say it’s roughly the size of a credit card, but a little longer and a little wider. The shadows themselves look nice but since I literally just got it this morning, I haven’t used it yet. Not sure it’s worth $29 given how teeny it is, but I’ll keep you posted as far as the quality.

    • Isabella Muse

I was shocked to hear it is smaller than the Chocolate Chips as they are very small! Whoa! Keep me posted sis!

  • Christina D.

P.S. As a point of reference, I have both the TF Chocolate Chip palettes and they are small, too – but the Smashbox Eye Shots are smaller.

  • Maria

Omg! I ordered 2 different smashbox palettes and I cannot believe it is smaller than the TG chocolate chips. I am expecting my delivery today. What is makeup sizes becoming so small that it looks like kiddie makeup!! It looks so big on IG pictures!

  • Maria

I just got ablaze and golden hour in the mail. It is very small. Smaller and shorter than my iPod touch 5. A little longer than a credit card. Colors are very pretty. Both palettes are made in Italy. Mirror in both compacts are blurry. Colors in Ablaze are similar to ABH modern Renaissance. Hope this helps.

  • Agona

Muse, I got Metallic and Smoky and I think I am returning Metallic. (Still need to try Smoky before I decide.) I really only liked on the pewter color in Metallic and I found it to neither have a foiled nor metallic look. In fact, I feel like some WnW have a better high shine finish (the silver in Don’t Steal My Thunder comes immediately to mind). I like the shimmeriness but I don’t love it because I don’t find it as unique as I thought it’d be. The formula is more similar to Photo Op than Full/Double Exposure though, IMO. Will let you know about the Smoky palette; I’ll probably keep that one because the colors are my jam (whereas I was looking for texture on the Metallic one).

    • Isabella Muse

Hmmm doesn’t sound fab Agona! Thanks for the update! I got one but haven’t used it yet! It looks somewhat uneventful in all honesty!

      • Agona

I’m hoping I love Smoky; it’s okay if I have to wait to try it before I hit Sephora for returns. The mall is a little crazy right before the holidays and I’d rather wait until after anyhow.

        • Isabella Muse

It’s funny, mine is crazier after the Holidays! It seems like the lines are super long after the Holidays!

          • Isabella Muse

absolutely! all that and combined that kids are home from school so lots of tween/teens blowing gift cards!
