Belif Moisturizing Bomb Cushion Compact Review & Swatches
Belif Moisturizing Bomb Cushion Compact ($42) is a new BB Cream Cushion Compact with an SPF 50 that promises 26 hours of long-lasting hydration as well as full coverage with an SPF 50. I picked this up during the Sephora 20% Off Event and have been using it on and off for a few weeks now to test it out. As a fan of Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb, I felt for sure I’d love this Moisturizing Bomb Cushion Compact as I have drier skin and it seemed ideal for my skin type.
Here’s my review and swatches!
Belif Moisturizing Bomb Cushion Compact is actually a really nice value as for $42 you’re getting not only Belif Moisturizing Bomb Cushion Compact but also a refill cushion which places you at 1.04 oz of total foundation. I’m a massive fan of It Cosmetics CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid Foundation is $38 and 0.34 oz in size. I don’t mind paying for It Cosmetics formula but if you’re comparing it to Belif’s, for four dollars more, you’re getting a heck of a lot more cushion for your buck!
This little cushion comes in the standard chunky compact which has a double lid. The first lid opens to reveal the sponge and mirror and a second lid opens to reveal the cushion. This packaging is meant to keep the cushion from drying out.
Sadly, Belif created this in two shades only. I picked up Natural Beige but it was a little too light for my skin tone. But there’s good news as this oxidizes a bit once I applied it so it wasn’t too pasty after application. Although it had a bit too much peach to it. Perhaps the second shade, Natural Finish, might be better suited for me.
I think the marketing is a little overdone here as they promise 26 hours of moisture and full coverage. None of which was a benefit of this formula in my opinion. Belif has a very strong skincare collection that focuses on moisture and those formulas work well. Sadly, that didn’t quite translate to their cushion compact. This isn’t to say the formula is drying because it is not. It’s very, very lightly hydrating and the promises 26 hours of moisture is a little overkill in my opinion. And full coverage? No. This is a very light, sheer coverage which I was happy with because I tend to like product which brighten, ease dullness, and even out skin tone. I personally like more natural coverage and this gives that. But those purchasing it believing it’s full coverage, well, that’s not the case at all. This, like It Cosmetics CC+ Veil, does need to be set to wear long. It tends to fade fairly fast at around five hours of wear. The formula is light and fluid like with an easy to blend texture that doesn’t adhere to drier areas.
Belif Moisturizing Bomb Cushion Compact is actually a very nicely texture foundation that gives skin a natural finish. I’d recommend it for those that like sheerer coverage but I can see it being disappointed for those wanting a moisturizing, fuller coverage foundation that’s promised in the description!
