I thought I’d do a post of some of the best drugstore eyliners especially for those of that love the deep, dark, rich pigmentation of Urban Decay Perversion. Urban Decay Perversion is most definitely one of my very favorite eyeliners but the drugstore has some pretty awesome offerings that are cheaper and just as great as UD’s fantastic formula.

So, here’s a list of the Best Drugstore Eyeliners That Are as Good As Urban Decay Perversion plus they are all under $10 bucks!

If you told me when I started my blog I’d be raving drugstore eyeliner I’d probably call you a liar. Why? Because drugstore eyeliner was not something you’d rave about nearly 10 years ago! Most of the formulas available with dense, dry, and almost painful to apply. Ask my older sister and she’ll tell you a lighter was necessary to apply eyeliner back in her day! Why? Because you had to melt down the formula to make it soft enough to apply.

Fast forward and the last ten or so years the drugstore eyeliner has evolved and become as fantastic as many mid and high-end brands! My top three that I absolutely love are L’Oreal Infallible Lacquer Gel Eyeliner (Review), L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime (Review), and L’Oreal Extra Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner (Review). These are all super pigmented, rich, glossy, and long wearing on my drier eyes. I absolutely adore how intense the color pay off is on these eyeliners and how soft and smooth they apply without skipping or tugging. Needless to say this aren’t your mom’s eyeliner! If black isn’t your thing, no problem, Silkissime launched in quite a few shades for Fall 2014!

Funny that you posted this today. Dr. Oz”s topic today was Designer Makeup vs Drugstore Makeup. I agree with you and love the L’Oréal eyeliners and I also enjoyed the Maybeline Lasting Drama eyeliners.

    • Isabella Muse

oh I’m surprised my mom didn’t call me lol! Anytime some the news or some talk show has makeup on she’s call me right away to tell me about it 😀 I like the Maybelline Lasting Drama ones too!

      • blee

I do too! I like the Maybelline Master Drama, but for the last 5 months I can’t find them anywhere. I’ve been told they do not sell them anymore. Thanks, Musey for the L’Oréal swatches. I’ll give them a try when my Master Drama is gone. I’m on my last back one. 😀

        • Isabella Muse

wow, I haven’t been shopping master drama but now that I think about it, I haven’t seen it anywhere either eh…!

I love the L’Oreal Infallible Silkissime liners. They are the best; better than many high-end liners.

    • Rina

Agreed! I’m a die-hard Pervert (lol) but it doesn’t go over some cram eye shadows well but the L’oreal does beautifully! So on its own, UD all the way. Over product, Silkissime all day!

    • Isabella Muse

I don’t really have issues removing eye makeup with oil based eye makeup remover no matter how tough the staying power.

      • Judy

Milani has one in a gold package that’s as good as the UD, Physicians Formula has a Kohl, twist up and liquid in one package that are great. I go to those more than UD.

  • Violet Gray

If you really wanna talk cheap drugstore: Catrice. The have one line of eyeliners that every bit as creamy and intense as the UD ones. Less choice in colour, but let’s be honest…black is the only one that really matters/

I love Loreal’s gel eyeliner. It’s the best, and it doesn’t dry out quickly! Holy grail. The extra intense pencil is also good.

Why can’t I find a decent Drug Store eyeliner in BROWN? Seriously, they’re all black.

    • Isabella Muse

Mmm true! Actually not only drugstore but mid and higher end! No good brows around! Pixi has a few if that’s any help 😀

    • Maggie

Sephora contour eye liners have a few good Brown’s. That’s stepping up to mid-range brands but worth it for THE brown. And it’s long wear.

  • Sarah

Are these smudgy? No matter what eye primer I use lately, my eye liner is determined to smear down under my eyes 🙁

    • Isabella Muse

mmm I don’t have a prob but I am sooooo dry that everything lasts on me!

    • Lorraine E.R

The L’oreal gel pot laquer shouldn’t smudge on you. I have oily lids and I can wear it for work without primer but if I’m going to be be out longer or in humid conditions I will make it extra lasting by wearing primer and then dusting some translucent setting powder over it with a fluffy eye brush.
If you’re really hard up to get anything to last on you, try using a makeup sealant over your liner on the top lid. (I wouldn’t use it on water line though) like Ben Nye final seal or something similar

    • Lorraine E.R

Just to give you an idea though I have really oily skin and oily lids plus I live in the south so summer is brutal. I can wear the L’oreal gel pot and if I forget to remove it before bed wake up with my liner still in place.

  • Lorraine. E.R

The L’oréal gel liner has been my h.g for a while now, nearly 2 years. It is great on oily lids too just FYI! I use primer when I know it’s going to be a long day but if I’m working a regular day and home in 8 hrs I skip primer and it still looks perfect.
L’oréal is def one of my like 3 favorite brands for eyeliner out of all brands *including* the high-end brands.

A fantastic gel pencil liner that is WAY under-mentioned is Avon Supershock Gel Liner, usually on sale for $4.99 but full price is $8. I used to use the UD liners and then I tried the Avon on a recommendation from one of my customers (yes I’m an Avon Lady and didn’t know how good they were)….I was floored! They are super soft and creamy and they last seriously all day in my waterline. I tend to have watery eyes from allergies and the Supershock holds up just fine. I’ve been using them pretty much exclusively for the past few years. The color range could be better but the Blackout shade is very rich and densely black, the brown is just an average medium brown, there’s also a plum, teal and cobalt. They do requiring sharpening because they don’t twist up like Avon’s other Glimmerstick liners (which I am not a fan of at all!).
