The Makeup Revolution Precision Contour Set ($30) is set to blown your mind. This three piece oval makeup brush set is absolutely, positively incredible and did I mention it’s incredibly inexpensive too?

As you know, I’m a fond fan of finding budget friendly replacements for my Artis Makeup Brushes. Don’t get me wrong, I love them to death but something inexpensive is always a plus. I’ve successful find some fine replacements like the Etude House My Beauty Tool Secret Brush 121 Skin and Missha Professional Oval Makeup Brush. But these are a lot smaller than my Artis Oval 8. That’s where the Makeup Revolution Precision Contour Set excels.

This three piece brush set contains three super soft, synthetic hair brushes that range in size from large to small and allow easy, airbrushed application of foundation, contouring products, concealers, and even blush. This set includes the Pro Precision Brush Oval Face, Pro Precision Brush Oval Cheek and the Pro Precision Brush Oval Shape.

I fell instantly in love with this set. It’s just as good as more expensive oval brushes and the set is only $30 which means you’re paying $10 bucks a brush. That’s such an incredible value.

If you do a lot of contouring work these brushes will help you get clean, seamless lines. I don’t really do much contouring but I love how easily my foundation applies using the largePro Precision Brush Oval Cheek. It blends my foundation to a picture perfect finish. I use the larger Pro Precision Brush Oval Face with face powder or blush. I can apply most any powders on my drier skin with this brush and get a smooth, seamless, clean finish without the powder adhering to drier areas. The bristles are short, dense but soft which allows the powder to break down and buff into my skin without adhering on top of the dryness. The finish is airbrushed and beautiful. I also use it with blush as I’m heavy handed with blush and this brush allows me to apply just the right amount and buffs in to a natural finish.

The Pro Precision Brush Oval Shape is the perfect shape or under eyes. Again, this breaks down concealers and gives them a smooth, seamless finish. What this does in conjunction with Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer is mind blowing!

Seriously, this set blew my mind. Totally a value! The super soft yet dense bristles will help you apply make perfectly each and every time. Best part? They aren’t $80 plus dollars!

The Makeup Revolution Precision Contour Set is available at www.tambeauty.com and www.makeuprevolutionusa.com. Hopefully Ulta.com gets this soon as well!

Big Muse Approval. You NEED this set.

I was looking at these last month on the website. Now they are out of stock. I hope it restocks soon. Thanks for your review Muse.

I was interested in this set but wanted to get some reviews first. So glad you like it. It’s going on my Christmas list.

I bought a set on Zulily that look exactly like this but there are 12 instead of just three brushes. They’re amazing! I am a beauty blender girl but these give just as nice of a finish.

Makeup revolutionusa.com website has free shipping with $25 purchase. It is out of stock. Tam beauty has free shipping with $75! I guess I will wait. I do not like to pay high shipping costs.

  • Andi

so glad to hear these are buy-worthy. I have wanted a set of real ones but the pricetag is just too high. I’ll check these out

That sounds like a good deal!
I got an oval brush to try with my foundation from a brand called true beauty. It is the #108 brush and I was surprised by the quality. The bristles are super soft and it gives a really nice finish.

I got these just a few weeks ago. The shipping time is a little bit of a pain, but the brushes are worth it. I haven’t used my Beauty Blender since getting these brushes in. I may have to buy a second set to have as a back up in case anything happens to the first set!

Have always wanted to try this type of brush, but the price! So glad there is a less expensive alternative that you’ve given a good review to.

Do you think that they will not break at the neck , that they are strong enough when you place pressure on the brush head?
I purchased one at a TJMaxx, which had a great dense head but I returned it because when I pull it out of the plastic where it was set, it felt as it is was too weak.
I would like to see one that has a shorter wand and thicker at the neck design, like a teaspoon LOL
I’m having so much fun reading your daily news during the holidays

The Artis Brushes also have lighter handles as well. You can put intense pressure on them but you should be fine when blending. I’ve been using them without any issues for two months now. I think the point of the handles is they move and blend back and fourth to allow for ease of blending 🙂

    • Lorraine. E.R

I got mine at TJ maxx, hah! I don’t find the light handle to be an issue though because it applies with very little pressure and that is how it works best on my face. When I tried to compensate for the lighter handle by pressing harder, I ended up pushing the foundation away from the center of my face so that the heaviest application of it was on the edges of my face instead of the center, where I want. If the handle was heavier I would probably have to change the way I apply the foundation. I like the finish I get with this though.

  • Maria

Muse, how does this brush work with blush without looking like a clown? Also, what is the approximate size of each brush? Thanks.

    • Isabella Muse

It has short, dense bristles so it buffs color in very well. Less is more during application and building slowly. Not sure on the sizes of the brushes!

  • Morgan

have you tried using these with foundation? that’s what i’d probably buy this set for the most.
