Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Plette ($26) is one of two, limited edition eyeshadow palettes that launched exclusively at Too Faced and Sephora for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Yesterday, I reviewed the Too Faced Matte Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette for you and today I thought I’d give you a review and swatches of the White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette.

Here are my thoughts.

There a lot of drama surrounding the Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette due to the fact most people felt there was no “alert” telling them about the release of both the limited edition palettes. Most of the rants I’m hearing are there wasn’t an e-mail telling anyone about these two releases. There’s also drama about the palette’s selling out fast, etc…etc….

This particular palette is available exclusively at Sephora.com and apparently it’ll return on December 14th. I was able to get it quickly enough early in the morning when it released. I might be nuts but it looked like it was in stock a while before selling out. Too Faced didn’t send out a mass e-mail but if you have access to Instagram they promoted it quite a bit on Instagram. This is unfortunately why social media is a must if you want to catch these exclusive releases.

Some people have said both of these palettes will be back for Spring 2017 but I had mentioned in my Too Faced Matte Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette Review I had my thoughts about that because the brand has plans to release Spring 2017 on December 26th and this is a peach themed release. In February, they are doing a Kat Von D Better Together Collection. I’m not sure how chocolate anything would fit into these two new collections but I could be completely wrong. If these come back I suspect they’ll come back permanently OR they might come back for December only.

The Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette is too cute. It’s a very tiny palette that’s a little bigger than a credit card with a generous mirror tucked inside along with 11 shades of eyeshadow. As cute as it is, it isn’t exactly a value. It’s 0.22 oz of total product for $26 where as some of the original Chocolate Bar Palettes are $49 and contain 0.62 oz of product. You’re pretty much paying $26 for a quarter of the eyeshadows that come in the full-size palette. The good news? This is super travel friendly, easy to store, and it won’t overwhelm you with too much trouble. The bad news? It’s a lot of money for a little amount of eyeshadow.

Sadly, I felt the eyeshadows in the Matte Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette were dense and dry and not a lot canges with the quality of the White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette. Here’s the good news….the mattes are a lot softer in this palette and silkier and not near as dry or dense as the Matte Chocolate Chip ones. However, they are also sheerer and barely there on my skin tone. The shimmers had a velvety texture but they were very flaky and and powdery but not dry. The shimmers won’t adhere well to lids at all so primer or glitter primer is key to keep them in place. They are also quite sheer. The shades are cooler and almost pastel toned and I personally found it very difficult to create a look using them since there is no depth of contrast to be had. Funny, if you use both of the palettes together you can get a complete eye look but when you’re using the White Chocolate Chip Palette alone it proves challenging to get a complete eye look. These shades are very washed out and will look chalky on medium or darker skin tones. One thing to note is the chocolate scent of this palette seemed stronger than the Matte Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette.

For those interesting the palette state that the bulk was made in the USA and assembled in the Dominican Republic.

The Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette was disappointing in my opinion. Most reviews I’ve read so far are saying that if it was an either/or situation they’d choose the Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Eyeshadow Palette as the better of the two palettes but personally neither was all that great. And they are certainly not deserving of all the crazy hype they are currently getting.

Do you own it?

The shimmers looks flaky and frosty….bad combo in my book. The mattes are just patchy-looking. The quality of TF shadows has not been impressive for a really long time 🙁

    • Isabella Muse

YUP! exactly! I hate frost! The mattes are actually nice BUT SHEEEERRRR!

  • diane

my sephora app alerted me sunday night this was available so i bought it asap. it’s so cute and tiny and i like the shades but i didn’t wear them yet. i honestly got it mostly for the cute and internet hype factors. LOL

  • breyerchic04

I’ve paid $25-29 for a single eyeshadow (bobbi brown or burberry). So the value per oz isn’t a big deal to me, especially since I’ve only hit pan on two eyeshadows ever.
That said the quality on this doesn’t look quite as good as I would like. I do like the color selection, and am beginning to long for a new palette, but I don’t think this is it 🙁 I haven’t bought any palettes in a long time though, so I probably have quite a few available choices. What are your favorites right now?

    • Isabella Muse

I always like to mention the size. I’ve def paid more for a single shade of eyeshadow myself. I still love Urban Decay Naked 🙂 def a fav of mine!

    • Susan

I know you’re not asking me, but Smashbox is coming out with six or seven smaller eye shadow palettes, and some of them look stunning. Brights to mattes to pastels to smoky.

The Too Faced quality doesn’t seem to be there any more. Maybe it’s a good thing that they sold out to another company. 🙁

    • Ruth

If you haven’t already added them to your collection, Anastasia’s Master Pallet by Mario & Modern Renaissance are both amazing! They’ve blown me away with the quality of the shadows, easily blendable and my eye looks never look like a hot mess when these pallets are used.

  • Kenna

I was equally disappointed. I got mine in the mail last night and I felt I had to almost scrape the shadows to have good pigmentation on my Fair to light skin. I can’t imagine what it would be like with a brush, or for anyone darker than I am. I’ll most likely return it. About it it selling out, I’m Rouge so I got it pretty quickly, but I don’t think it sold out for a few hours really. I usually keep the page open of whatever product I want and i just occasionally refresh throughout the day to see if it goes live. Usually works for me.

    • Isabella Muse

I’m not fair but I’m medium fair and felt the shades were way too light for me! It’s such a cool pastel palette with very litte pigment 🙁 I got it quickly too and i was in stock for a while too! So many rants about it selling out, I was surprised!

  • Maria

I am glad I did not get it. It was sold out and I bought 2 of the smashbox palettes. I am wearing golden hour. I also got ablaze. The color is nice but looks a lot deeper in the IG posts. For the price of 2 of these, you are better off with the ABH modern Renaissance palette for $16 less.

  • Alicia

I got one for me and one as a gift. The last few releases of product (excluding holiday collection) such as the too cute palette, the sketch marker eye liners, the funfetti on HSN and now these palettes, makes me feel that too Faced target audience is now all under the age of 21. I think the white chocolate chip palette will be perfect for my friend’s 18 year old daughter.

  • TrikkiRikki

Thanks for the review! Any idea how these compare size-wise to the UD Naked Basic palettes? Thanks!

    • Isabella Muse

My pleasure! The Naked Basic is physically larger (and longer) and it contains 0.30 oz of total of shadow.

  • Maria A

That is sooo weird. If you feel my palette it is super buttery and pigmented. Not flaky and not patchy. Do you think some people might have gotten a bad batch? Possibly like what happened with the becca eyeshadows?

    • Isabella Muse

I really don’t doubt it Maria. I’ve seen product inconsistencies all the time! These weren’t patch but the shimmer shades were def chunky and flaky for me. But honestly, there’s always a possibilities some batches were great and some weren’t. Makeup releases are odd lately 🙂

  • Leticia

Thank you for the review! I was going to pass on this and the Chocolate Chip palette anyway, but it’s still nice to see/read a review that makes you feel even better about your decision.
I don’t know what it is about Too Faced eyeshadows anymore… The last one I bought and liked, was the Chocolate Bon Bon palette. I gave into the hype and bought the PB & J palette… retuned it. I also gave into the hype again and bought the Sweet Peach palette… returned it as well. The lady at Ulta thought I was bat-shit crazy for doing so lol! But since then I haven’t been interested in buying anything from Too Faced.

    • Isabella Muse

haha I always feel like that too Leticia! Especially if I miss out on something LE and it turns out bad, I’m like “YES! dodged a bullet!” Did you see the Sweet Peach launch? It looks mighty good 😀 might tempt you back to tf!

      • Leticia

Yes, I have! The packaging looks SO cute, but I’m over the whole peach thing with Too Faced lol. I rather spend my money on the new Hourglass blush palette

  • Rebecca

Not sure that I would buy myself this palette but it looks really cute. Perfect for someone who doesnt like to wear much makeup and sticks to a more natural look.

  • Beth

.22 is a lot more than a quarter of .62, it’s actually more than a third.
Not that that excuses the price or makes it a better value, but I just thought it was worth correcting.

  • Sara

I got mine yesterday and looked at it and put it back in the box. Back to sephora this weekend. Underwhelming, I feel silly for stalking the sight all thanksgiving

  • kare

The size reminds me of the Rock n Roll Palettes – my go to travel palette. Unfortunately the shades in these new palettes don’t seem as easy to use. I wish they would do less releases and just focus on doing quality expansions to their lineup. Plus I’m still sad they didn’t do a pumpkin spice palette fo Fall haha.

    • Isabella Muse

This is a lot smaller than the Rock n Roll Palette sadly! Aw yeah, agreed 😀 really wanted that pumpkin spice one!

  • Brandi

MAAAANNN!!! I can’t believe I didn’t know about sweet peach coming back YESTERDAY! Oh, well at least it’s coming back. That palette is right up my alley. This one on the other hand, im going to try it out today for work, but I was a little disappointed when I saw the size. What’s up with that? Thanks for all your reviews! You do a great job!

    • Isabella Muse

Oh no did you miss my post saying it would be back? 🙁 It is indeed coming back! On the 14th I believe! 🙂 Aw my pleasure xo!

  • kel

i love frost and shimmers but feel these wouldn’t even show up on me. would go for an urban decay product before buying this. thanks for the review.

  • Academicjanet

    Hi Muse,

Thanks for the review. I think your first search pic might be upside down though, the colors listed underneath it seem to be describing the shades from right to left instead of left to right. I’m passing on this palette but the swatches were very helpful!

    • Isabella Muse

Thanks! Sorry about that, will correct it shortly! Multitasking and made a mistake 🙂

  • Silvia

I’m not even excited about these colors as they won’t do a thing for me. Too flat and boring I already have these shades and am tired of nudes I like colorful! There are lot more beautiful brands available. Like I need more? Lol!

  • Kathleen Smith-Woodcock

Too many similar very light shades and where are the transition shades? Pass

  • Rachel Carnahan

I just got this in the mail today and wish it wasn’t so tiny and had better pigmentation! I love the pastel and light shimmer kind of colors though. Do you have a good alternative that might be sort of similar to this but better quality?

  • Jime

Damn! I really want it 🙁
Is it wrong that I like it just because of the size? It’s so cute!

  • Amy

I just attempted to use this on my fair skin and am very disappointed. I’ll be returning it today. Powdery, flakey, and no pigmentation. I have three shades on my eyes and it looks like nothing. So sad.

  • Melissa

Wow after reading your last post on the matte chocolate one and this one. I don’t know what they were thinking? It sounds like they just wanted put out another chocolate bar palette and did not think about anything else. Like formula and how to get a nice eye looks with each palette. I think they trying to put too much stuff out at one time which is sad. I will be skipping both little palettes thanks for your reviews. Muse

  • Leslie Hughes

Do these two mini palettes come with the “Get the Look” idea booklet that comes with most of their collections. Thank you for your review and reply.

    Sincerely,
    Leslie

  • Mari Calikes

Hi Musings of a Muse! I was wondering if this eyeshadow palette cos with a look booklet because I have just received my Too Faced Christmas 2017 Chocolate Vault & none of the included a letter come with the look booklets
