Pep-Start Skincare is back for Spring 2017 with the release of the brand new Clinique Pep-Start Hydro Rush Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20. Although it had rather bad reviews, I have to admit I really enjoy Clinique Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer! The new formula is a lightweight sunscreen with a universally flattering perfecting tint. It looks like they went completely opposite with this new formula as instead of perfecting with silicone this formula actually has a natural tint that perfects and evens out skin tone on days you just can’t be bothered to apply makeup.

Best part? It contains an SPF 20 (mineral sunscreen)! So, you can get natural tint and UVA/UVB protection as well. If you aren’t up for the sheer tint, no worries, this wears under makeup as well!

The original formula was a hybrid texture that was part moisturizer, part silicon primer so it perfected and smoothed skin as well as provided moisture. This new version appears to take on the same hybrid formula but this time around they are going with sunscreen and tinted moisturizer all in one.

By the way, Clinique Pep-Start Daily UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 50 is also a new lightweight fluid sunscreen and perfecting tint all in one with a mineral formula. This one looks more along the lines of It Cosmetics Anti-Aging Armour Super Smart Skin-Perfecting Beauty Fluid!

I’m eager to try it out the Pep-Star Hydro Rush formula!

Clinique Pep-Start Hydro Rush Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 is available now at sephora.com.

Always looking for the perfect mineral sunscreen that works under makeup…..hope this is it!

Awww, man, I get frustrated with all these “natural tint” products that come in one shade. Every one I’ve tried has been too dark and/or too orange for my pale skin. I’ll give this a try when I see it at a counter, but I do not have high hopes for a match. What a bummer.

Sometimes I’m lucky with them but yeah, I have had my issues too with it being too orange or sometimes too pink!

I really like my Skinceuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50 with the “universal tint.” I can’t imagine it being truly universal, but it does work very, very well for me, better than most “universal tint” products, and leaves a lovely finish. I would try this Clinique spf 50 mineral one, but need to see ingredients first. Wish they would make their ingredient lists more readily available!

I’ve re-read your review a few times and am a bit confused. Do I understand there are 2 new products, both with sheer tint? One is a moisturizer with SPF 20 (or is it “Best part…50”?), the other is a sunscreen SPF 50?

How moisturizing is the moisturizer? I think my dry skin is similar to yours. Thanks to you, I’m a Belif Moisture Bomb night moisturizer convert – yeah! Products like Neutrogena Moisture Surge Gel Cream (not just Gel) are not enough moisture, plus I require, as we all do, an SPF.

One is a fluid sunscreen that’s tinted and contains an SPF 50, the other is a moisturizer that tinted and contains spf 20. I don’t know how moisturizing it is as it literally just launched and I haven’t tried it. Sorry :*( I’m so glad to hear you’re loving belif’s bomb 🙂 that’s a great one! If I try these I’ll let you know how they are!

Also…love how I respond to myself? Is there a Pep-Start and a Pep-Rush skincare line?

      • Isabella Muse

Not that I know of? There’s a Pep-Start Skincare Collection that launched last year which started with the intro of pep-start eye cream and later they added hydro blur moisturizer and a cleanser/exfoliating facial scrub as well as facial wipes (reviews are in the archives for all of them). This year, they are expending on the Pep-Start Collection with these products. Hope this helps?

Thank you. I was going by the First few words of the review, “Pep-Rush Skincare is back for Spring 2017…”.

I get it now. It just took a bit.

that’s be my error haha! I have to correct that. Sorry!
