Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit for Summer 2017

The extremely popular Sephora Favorites Sun Safety Kit ($32) is back for Summer 2017! This is one of the best ways to try a range of different sunscreen products as well as other goodies that contain SPF. I always find that SPF is truly a personal experience. Textures, formulas, etc..there’s so much that factors into picking the perfect sunscreen for your skin type. Or at least I think so. It took me a while to find a few favorites and mostly, I rely heavily on Japanese sunscreens because the formula is much more easier to use thanks to the quick to absorb formulas. In many ways, the US hasn’t quite caught up to Asian sunscreen options in my opinion.

Which is why it’s always great when the Sephora Favorite Sun Safety Kit comes around. It gives me an open door to try some new sunscreens on the market and see how they measure up to my favorites. The best part is I’m not spending a ton of money to try all these formulas.

For $32, this set gets you 15 different deluxe size sunscreens. Well, technically, it isn’t all little tubes of SPFs! It’s also a variety of other items with sunscreen like cushion makeup, lip balm, moisturizers, and more!

Here’s what you get:

  • AMOREPACIFIC Resort Collection Sun Protection Cushion Broad Spectrum SPF 30+ (0.17 oz)

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was thinking last night how much I loved last years kit and hoped they would have another. Yeah!!!!

    • Isabella Muse

I did too! it’s a nice way to try a variety of sun options!

  • Isa

ITA about sunscreen being a very personal thing. Sunscreen is such an essential part of any skincare routine, but it’s so difficult to find one that fits! I’ve lost count of how many well-reviewed sunscreens that I hated because they felt too heavy or greasy or dry or something or other lol.

    • Isabella Muse

amen! Especially when you use a lot of different products, sometimes it’s difficult to pick one that works best with other products! Likewise! So many raving reviews but I’ll try it and feel like it’s way too heavy!

Oh yes! I’ve tried so many that pill up in conjunction with a serum or primer! Ugh, I have to bitch about this really bad experience with this Derma E one. I tried it with my normal routine underneath. It pilled up and rubbed off. I tried different serums. It pilled up and rubbed off. I tried it with just a toner. It pilled up and rubbed off. I tried it on bare skin. It pilled up and rubbed off. The only way I got it to stay on my face was by mixing it with oil. Which of course made it feel way too greasy for my taste. By that time, I pretty much only had half the tube left which I can’t really say I was too mad about since I don’t really want to use it ever again!

Glad to see there’s only one self tanner item in this year’s set. But didn’t it used to cost less?

  • Sarah

I may give this a try! I’m very fair, and I need to get more serious about daily SPF. Does this set usually sell out quickly?

    • Isabella Muse

depends! I could be imagining it but I recall it went fast last year! With the upcoming sale it might just sell out 🙂 and please, be serious about SPF 🙂 don’t want you aging before your time xo!

One Sephora favorite I can forego, being highly allergic to chemical sunscreen. I’ll bet one or two are titanium/zinc. Coola has some mineral formulas. Think the ds or Walmart has better options for me, and those are pricey enough. Unless it’s the beach, I just use a t/z in TM, not a separate layer. Do you know if any of the great Japanese and Korean screens come in mineral?

I get this kit every single year and I love trying the new products out on the market as far as SPF. I would love to know what some of your holygrail SPF’s are though?

  • Emily

I wish I didn’t already have so many of these, but yes I will do my best to grab this when the sale comes (hopefully not excluded because of the charity aspect?) there are a few things in there I’d like to try, and I like the travel sizes so I can keep some in every bag. Just don’t like self tanners or setting sprays!

  • Danielle

I just like getting these because of the bag… is that bad? “the US hasn’t quite caught up to Asian sunscreen options” (And skin care and makeup….)

    • Isabella Muse

don’t worry, I totally get it 😀 I’ve been known to buy things for sheer packaging along 😀 mmmm we’re getting there, SLOWLY!

  • genevieve

I think this is the best thing since sliced bread! What a wonderful deal and you get to sample as many sunscreens as you could possibly wish.
I hope Sephora brings in this bag here later on this year – we didn’t have it at the start of summer last year.
Sunscreen is so important – the one I am currently using and LOVING is the La Roche Posay’s Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Ultra Light and I have sensitive skin. Works really well under makeup too.
