NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment Early Access

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment gets an early one day access today at Sephora.com! This new weightless matte liquid lipstick promises pigmented color pay off with a weightless formula that acts like an ink for your lips. It dries down to a soft, matte finish with a long wear that provides full coverage on a single swipe.

NARS called Powermatte Lip Pigment a liquefied pigment for your lips that has a flexible formula that movies with your lips which gives it more of a comfortable feel. It sounds intriguing but I find that long-wearing lipstick is long-wearing lipstick you know? All are incredibly long-wearing and require a makeup remover to get them off and most of them have a rather drying formula that you’re either completely comfortable with or you might be like me and feel like they are suffocating your lips!

I actually thought the whole long-wearing liquid matte lipstick trend might be over but it’s full force ahead for Fall 2017 I suppose. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of highlighters and contouring either for Fall trending. It’s pretty amazing how long lasting these three trends are. I blame Instagram 🙂

NARS launched these in 18 shades and they are available for one day only as early access at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Hi Isabella, I appreciate your reviews, but I am 62 now and can assure you that “long-lasting libstick” and “highlighter” categories have been trends forever, coming to the front every few years for decades. Highlighters seem to change form, and the lipsticks claim to be improved, but I doubt they will ever stop being trends.
I guess I’ll just have to try this Powermatte to see if it’s for me. Thank you for your reviews!

Because there IS no such thing as “long-wearing lipstick” for me, I just ordered this and will let you know my thoughts. More than likely, it will be returned. I’ve been jaded and will continue my search, but don’t have much hope.

Thank god for dupe lists. FN gets me in the lip dept every time! I haven’t even got all the VLGs I’d like yet! If my predictive powers are right, there will be an xmas set of these. Can wait.

These shades are gorgeous but so dupeable. Problem is…I want to buy them all because the names. They appeal to me. I’m so obsessed with classic rock and when I read these shade names I died a little inside.

I’ll be picking up a few, I know this. I just can’t help myself.

I am curious as to how this might compare to the new Maybelline Matte Inks? They both list very similar qualities. I won’t spend the $$ on liquid lips- too much wasted already on formula’s that never seem to work for me 🙁 Does anyone happen to have both the Nars and the Maybelline and can offer their thoughts? Thank you!

Please do, Muse! Every time I see a new launch I’m suspicious of I turn straight to you–was so excited when I thought you were announcing that you’d already gotten your hands on these liquid lippies 🙂 I know LLs are not usually your favorite–mine neither to be honest–but that’s why we need your opinion so much! I hear a lot about how the gel is supposed to be really light wearing, etc.

aw thanks Magpie terribly flattered to hear you wait for my reviews. I’ll def post soon! I purchased one from Sephora but still need to test out 😀

I bought this and it applies nicely and dries down very smooth. I topped it with a dab of gloss because I don’t love the matte look. However, before noon, the color was patchy and faded and I wasn’t overly impressed so it will be returned.
