Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer Review & Swatches

Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer is my second high-end concealer disappointment of the Summer. This is marketed as a waterproof formula that’s highly pigmented with a “fresh” matte finish that won’t settle into lines nor crease or crack.

The formula is promoted as having a hydrating formula with lasting wear. As with all my concealer purchases, I tested this under my eyes as that’s where I need concealer the most. I have drier, finely lined eyes with puffiness. Typically my eyes look tired even when I had plenty of rest so I rely on concealer to make my eyes look more awake and brighter. A few weeks ago I purchased Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer and I liked the formula well enough but I experienced issues with the applicator which really ruined the overall experience and application for me. Dior’s formula actually didn’t have an applicator issue but the formula sadly, didn’t do it for me.

Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer arrives in 10 shade selections for $34 each and 0.20 oz in size. It’s expensive but I don’t mind the higher price so longer as the price is equivalent to the formula. In this case, it is expensive because the formula really didn’t work out for me.

Here’s the good news!

If you have oily skin this will likely work out well for you. Or perhaps if you decide you want to use it on your face that might be a good option. Blending on skin seems to go along very well and the formula didn’t appear dry or cling to drier areas when I dotted in on my face during the test phase. It also lasted all day in the heat without fading. Under my eyes was an issue though and that’s why I purchased this as I’m not one for using concealer on my face and only did so during my testing of the product. If you have oily lids, eyes, or skin in general you might feel the formula works out better for you.

I take a lot of time and attention when I prep under my eyes. I make sure they are very well hydrated prior to apply anything underneath them. That’s the key to get concealer not only to look natural but also to prevent it from looking cakey or creasing under my drier eyes. I did the same prior to applying this concealer but sadly, it drags badly during application. It’s odd because the texture is quite creamy out of the tube but once I apply it under my eyes and start blending it seems like it sets before I have the chance to pat it into place. It creases without two hours of application and ends up looking old and dried out at this point. I wouldn’t say it fades but it does migrate right into my finer within a two hour period.

Unfortunately, this formula was just unforgivable when it came to my drier eyes. It does work best as a spot concealer but honestly, I’m not sure how many people are willing to dish out over $30 for a concealer that works only on their face versus under their eyes. But maybe I’m delusional about the importance of under eye concealing. If you have drier eyes and plan on using Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Concealer under your eyes I would say skip it. This formula is difficult to blend and creases horribly within a very short time.

Thanks for warning. This was in my basket in Sephora for the 4X points that starts on Friday. Deleting and moving on…

Muse– have you tried the Ipsa creative corrector concealer? A friend picked it up for me in Asia, and it seems to be working pretty well for me. Might be worth a shot!

I didn’t like this concealer at all either I have the same type of under eye issues but with dark dark circles and while it looked good right after I applied it within 3 hours it dried out, cracked and faded away very sad and def. not worth the price !!

Oh I was thinking about this one, but after seeing your review I’m going to pass on it. I’ve been loving my Shape Tape and I think I’m going to stick with it!

Hi thanks for your honest review. I hear ya I don’t use concealer under eyes anymore it looks worse than if I did as it cracks . I look younger without makeup lol. I was interested in the Ingredients of the Dior forever as I never break out but I’m in Thai land and the heat and sweat ect has given me a few spots behind my ears on neck area thank goodness not face . Apparently makeup with silicone acid works. I hope that’s the right word !

My pleasure Amy! Sorry to hear it. Perhaps a hydrating primer and eye cream will help with the creasing you’re experiencing? I have very dry under eyes and I apply an eye serum and an eye cream and it helps to prevent caking and creasing 🙂 Sadly, I don’t have this anymore as the article was written in 2017 and I’ve long since used it all up. salicylic acid I think you mean 🙂
