Try saying Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour three times and tell me how you do. That’s a really big name for a tiny little concealer (0.11 oz) isn’t it? What is it? It’s Makeup Revolution’s latest launch that has the beauty world buzzing. Considering Makeup Revolution is known for creating duplicates of a variety of different popular palettes and makeup products I suppose that Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour has everyone curious about whether or not this is the next Shape Tape Concealer. I have my doubts but count me curious anyway.

Available in a whooping $17 shades the brand promises a long lasting and easy to blend formula at a very affordable $7 dollar price tag.

You know I’m totally first in line for this one since I’m a concealer junkie!

Let’s see how it goes!

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour is available now at ulta.com.

Speaking of concealers I feel terribly saddened that Spring 2018 is not going to be the season of new concealers. I used to look forward to Spring makeup launches for one reason. New base products! That means new concealer! Sadly, it’s been a while since anything really jumped out and grabbed me. Born this Way Concealer was a bust for me, I’m not convinced I like the new Urban Decay concealer, and I’m still trying to understand why NARS Creamy Concealer gets so many raves. As for MAC Waterweight hasn’t quite got me yet either but I’m still testing!

Any new concealers you’re testing out I need to know about? I’m shopping at the moment because I SWEAR the last time I purchased Shape Tape the formula seemed off to me. It seems a lot drier than it was when I first tried it. Either that or I’m much drier!

I have the nars concealer and i don’t get it either. it creases & crepes like crazy, regardless of what method of prep and set i use. the sephora sales rep highly recommended it and i’m just trying to use it up.
it looks like makeup revolution is duplicating shape tape with a ton of colors and a better price tag.

    • Isabella Muse

I feel isolated whenever people talking about it as being HG. It does NOTHING for me. It’s not pigmented enough and falls into my fine lines :-/ le sigh! yup! exactly!

      • ruth

I know 42 is kicking me right in the behind but I don’t need my concealer helping my fine lines to be more pronounced. ya know? I’ve yet to find a concealer that just knocks my socks off. I just use them until they’re finished/dry out and try something else.

        • Isabella Muse

amen sis! I did like Em’s the Great Cover Up and Maybelline Dream Mousse but sadly both are gone 🙁 Shape Tape has been good so far sadly, the formula seems drier though at my last purchase le sigh!

  • kjh

Ah, $#!+. Not sold on any Nars base products, though have RCC for lighter and ‘summer’ coloring. Or BTW. TST has something I don’t tolerate. I hate the concealer race. Have to use up to four products. Fiona Stiles and Julep are as good as those raved products. You might try a makeup atelier, the next time you do a Beautylish order. But my tendency is to swear AT concealers, not by them.

That is exactly my issue with shape tape and kat von d it’s so dry and matte to me and I think it seems like my shape tape has gotten drier lately too, I just ordered this from ulta because there isn’t another one nearby also ordered that blue Becca primer for under eyes but I’m pretty skeptical about that already hopefully it will surprise me

    • Isabella Muse

THIS! omg THIS! The first time I tried Shape Tape I was amazed it works for me because I felt for sure it would be too matte. Granted, I need to prep well but it still applied perfectly and smooth. My last two batches seem to have gotten drier! I thought I was being a nitpicky I’m so glad you experienced this too because I feel less crazy. I don’t think they changed the formula by any means but something went wrong in the mixing/production because I have not experienced the same creaminess I got the very first time I used it 🙁 I reviewed it and hated it I hope you like it 🙁 https://www.musingsofamuse.com/2018/01/becca-anti-fatigue-eye-primer-review.html

Ugh I wish I would have seen that I prob wouldn’t have bought that Becca primer 🙁 shape tape concealer needs a hydrating formula!

See, I love the bars radiant creamy concealer. Its my HG. I just recently tried tarred shape tape BC of all the hype and its just not comparable to me. It fades faster and is much drier. But me and nars, its like a magical duo. But if it isn’t bars then my other HG is IT Cosmetics bye bye under eye. Honorable mention is the Marc Jacobs Remarkable full cover concealer and Benefits Fake up concealer before it changed packaging and name. Haven’t tried the “new” version. And there’s something about when I swipe on BosciaSuper Cool Depuffing Eye Balm under my eyes then do my concealer. Its amazing. For me it never settles in my lines or creases and keeps my ish in place with a little setting powder.

    • Isabella Muse

A lot of people really like it you aren’t alone! I didn’t like it for some reason the coverage just wasn’t there for me. Shape Tape seems to have changed a little or I’ve gotten drier 🙁 Def love me some It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye now that you mention it I haven’t used it in a while 😀

I know you’re not really into watching beauty people on Yotube, but I found out about this from some of the people I watch, several “influencers” (I hate how they call themselves that, lol) have teamed up with Sally Beauty to create a new makeup line called Collab, and their have a liquid concealer that I think is pretty great! It’s pretty full coverage, I don’t think it covers as well as my Nars one, but it’s very creamy, you might like it! I think is called the flawless concealer, exclusively at Sally’s!

I really try not to care at all about make up revolution products no matter the price or the claims. They are the Steve Madden of the makeup world- they just wait to see what the next trend or craze is and then completely rip off the higher end company, packaging and all. I will forever pass on make up revolution.

  • Deborah

Muse if you are dry you should try the Benefit Boi-ing Concealor stick. It’s been my go to this winter! I love it. I saw NYX has a new knock off of it I’d like to try. So far my go to drug store concealer has been the maybeline fit me but being so dry this winter I switched to Benefit.
Looking forward to your thoughts on this one.

    • Isabella Muse

mm I don’t like it sadly 🙁 I tried it when it came out and just wasn’t int it sadly! Haven’t tried the newly repackaged one! maybe the formula changed?!

  • Abby

I totally agree with you about the Nars concealer… it did nothing for me and I don’t know why it’s so popular! Great post!!

    • Isabella Muse

Glad I’m not alone! I just don’t understand what makes NARS Creamy Concealer so popular!

  • lara / the glossarie.

serum concealers are my go to at the moment – bareminerals is at the top of the list, quickly followed by becca aqua luminous. i just find them so much easier to work with and comfortable to wear without irritating any sensitivities.

  • Brooke Jones

Girl! Word! I didn’t like Nars either. Shape Tape has great coverage but makes my undereye look like the Crypt Keeper. I am a big fan of the BareMinerals Serum Concealer and the Rainforest of the Sea Concealer by Tarte. They have decent coverage but are super smooth..,and almost a little hydrating…under the eye. My other fave is the ridiculously priced oldie-but -goodie by Cle de Peau. I still ove that one even after all the new releases. Out of those three, I would definitely rate the BareMinerals concealer as my top choice.

On another note, I am itching to haul some perfume and I need you to talk me down…,

    • Isabella Muse

I always get excited when people tell me that because I feel like I’m the only one that hated the nars formula. I’m having this issue now. When I first started with Shape Tape it was great but now suddenly the formula seems drier. Or maybe I’m drier. I really like the Bare Minerals Serum too! ;-D Yeah but Cle De Peau can be really dry too! lol! which one!? do share!

  • Kat M

here’s a rec for a concealer I don’t see mentioned: Sephora Make No Mistake concealer; high coverage but purportedly less dry than Shape Tape; also comes in a squeeze tube, no giant doefoot. Great color range, and only $14. I’m pretty dry and use it over green corrector for blemishes and redness. I already have a lot of undereye stuff, so haven’t gotten one for that yet.

    • Isabella Muse

thanks for the rec! I’ll have to try it out. I know of it but haven’t tried it yet!

      • lisa

I have heard great things about the Catrice concealer. It’s on my list for my next Ulta trip. BTW…have you tried Ulta’s brand of full coverage concealer? Not too shabby! Like you, I am also a concealer junkie 🙂

        • Isabella Muse

I have not but I’ll check it out. I’ll try any concealer once ;-D Thanks for the rec!

  • Cil

Yay! I thought I was alone regarding Nars RCC. I won a mini from Sephora and I hated it: too dry, heavy and felt like it sat on the skin. How this is HG for so many people is beyond me.

Anyway, I don’t use concealer anymore. Could never find one that agreed with the Grand Canyon under my eyes.

    • Isabella Muse

I always feel comforted when someone else hates it lol! It seems like everyone but me loves it! aww 🙁 I have sunken in as well! Drink more water, get a plumping eye cream ;-D
