Revlon Color Charge for Spring 2018

Head on over to Walgreens because there is a new limited edition Revlon Color Charge Makeup Collection for Spring 2018 you might want to check out. Gal Gadot is sadly no where to be seen but there’s plenty of interesting options in this collection like the new Holographic Loose Pigment that can be worn alone or over your favorite eyeshadow as well as a colorful Color Charge Eyeshadow Palette that includes 10 shades.

Not crazy about color? No worries! Although the main focus of the collection concentrates on bold primary shades there are also a slew of very lipsticks and lipglosses as well as two different Transforming Lip Powder Palettes that contain five shades each which can be worn over your favorite lipsticks or under your favorite lipglosses. They had some really nice nude shades of lipstick and a very vibrant matte red that I decided to pick up. Of course, there’s also a Liquid Illuminator because where would any collection be without some form of highlighter right?

This is interesting release for Revlon who’s always played it fairly safe with their shade range. It’s very fun and should draw in a younger demographic. I do wonder if we’ll see more collections like this from other brands. It does surprise me since Revlon just signed on Gal Gadot as the new Face of the Brand so, I expected more elegant makeup collections featuring her. This is more of a playful, hip collection that comes unexpectedly on Revlon’s contract with Gal.

But hey, who cares, it’s still quite a fun launch. I’m not sure if any of it is terribly appealing to me as I don’t really look great in primary shades like this but it’s still a step in the right direction at the drugstore which can be sadly lacking in colorful options.

What do you think of the new Revlon Color Change Collection?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. This seems a very elusive collection. I can’t find it at Revlon.com. I did see a couple of YouTube reviews from tiny channels, but nothing at CVS.com or Walgreens.com either.

I’m ready to run right out and hunt for it now. Being pale and washed out, I crave color; if I never see another nude palette, it’ll be too soon. I’m probably well beyond the target demographic for this collection, but I’m not about to let that stop me. It’ll be a good fit with my “style,” probably best described as Aging Hippie. 😉

I’m glad to hear some commotion about these new products. I have two of the color-charge lipsticks & they are great. My red shade is just how I like it; BOLD & PIGMENTED. It really wears well (definitely recommend a lip-liner), but yeah these shades are pretty to say the least. I just caught them on sale @ CVS today for 6.99 each!

Is that a light purple blush?! I NEED IT IN MY LIFE like yesterday. And there’s a couple lippies I’d like to get. Blank Canvas and Barely Pink. too bad there’s no walgreen’s close by. I’ll have to make an hour drive to the nearest one. Is that too crazy for drugstore makeup?! Or will this be available at other retailers ? *fingers crossed*

    • Isabella Muse

So far, only place I’ve seen is at Walgreens but HOPEFUL it’ll be everywhere else!?

I’m happy to report I finally grabbed a couple things! I had off yesterday and some other errands to take care of near the closest walgreens and they had the entire collections barely touched! So I picked up two lippies blank canvas and barely pink. I love the barely pink, blank canvas is ok. Lots of lippies pull too warm and orange or brown on me. I hate it. BUT I also got the purple blush. ITs so pretty. I swatched it on my hand and i like it so far. I haven’t tried the cheeks yet but it looks super promising. AND since it was bogo 50% off I grabbed the holographic loose pigment cause why not!

fantastic I’m so happy to hear that ;-D Enjoy your haul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m always up for some color! That purple highlighter/ blush looks interesting. Might check out one of those loose eyeshadow pigments too. Drugstore makeup has been kinda a snooze recently. Glad to see some new fun looking stuff coming out from different brands!

Liking that color!!!! Thanks! Doubt I’ll purchase the eye or cheeks palettes though unless I catch one on sale and they receive raving reviews (just have toooooo many palettes).

I saw this over the weekend at CVS. I was actually kinda digging it until I saw the prices: ouch! $6.99 for nail polish and they had an awesome red-hot blush but it was $10.99! I’m hoping that Walmart or Target gets this because CVS is so expensive. The nail polishes are all jellies. But I wasn’t going to pay $11 for a Revlon blush, sorry! The palette looks neat but then I thought to myself, Remember those horrible palettes they did last year? Probably the same for these. I like the collection a lot. It’s a fun change for Revlon but not at those prices.

    • Isabella Muse

I refuse to buy the palette for two reasons. 1. the colors. Just not my thing! and 2. just like you said, this horrible palettes from last year! dry as HELL! thanks but no thanks. I did get a few lipsticks/glosses I’m in love with but I won’t buy the blush as I had crummy experiences with Revlon’s blushes.

    *Hangs head in shame*
Yes, I’ll probably buy a bunch. Those lipstick – provided they don’t stink like Love Is On – possibly a blush and maybe a lip liner. And my nails are so short that VNL with polishes is just not that big a concern usually, so maybe a blush.

    • Isabella Muse

There’s actually some nice stuff in this launch! I purchased some of the lip items and I LOVE them so far 😀 don’t be ashamed!

      • Jane

If you saw my non-beauty blogger lipstick collection you might buy me a hair shirt, Muse.

LOL and ring a bell while you walking down the street! SHAME SHAME SHAME! (god I hope you’re a game of thrones fan otherwise that went over your head)

  • Silvia

I’ll be checking them at my nearest Rite Aid they often have great sales don’t forget Rite Aid. But I’m in a makeup diet (trying to believe & control myself) this year. Would to check out a blush, eyeliner.

I saw the nail polish, which is just ordinary colors, and the highligter. I want to see the eye shadows and lipsticks. I love duochromes and hope the eye shadows look like that. If they do, I’ll probably buy at least a couple. I’m not big on palettes, tho. I like the singles better.

I’ve been searching for an opal eyeshadow (want a fairly opaque white-based loose shadow with high shimmer, pink/blue/lavender reflects. When I saw this, I thought that the Holographic was; sadly, no; it’s a translucent base with multicolored glitter, so I returned it. $11 for a single shadow is awfully high for Revlon; they must be targeting young people who are used to paying more. The only reason I even tried was due to my fruitless search.

I purchased the powder lip palette in High Fever from CVS. I really like it. Those that like mattes shouldn’t be disappointed. They are pretty comfortable & quite pigmented; not super dry like a lot of mattes. I am going to get the other one tomorrow. I’m wondering what’s the best way to apply them tho. I used my finger, which I don’t particularly like doing, so I am on the hunt for a retractable lip or eye brush. Gonna play around with the application process to see what works best.

I got the barely pink today and LOVE it. Reminds me of a long discontinued MAC shade I loved. I stopped using revlon in the past as some of the lip formulas have a scent I hate. This does not! If you could, do you mind searching the blank canvas next to the barely pink? I paused on that one as I thought it might be too orange on me but now I’m not sure. I will probably try a few other colors as the formula is so moisturizing and pretty. I would love to see the blush swatched also ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    • Isabella Muse

Fantastic glad you’re loving it. I’ll have swatches up shortly 😉 I also purchased one blush so that should be live soon! 😀

Lipgloss is very nice. It is comparable to my Clinique lip gloss but way cheaper
