Urban Decay Beached Vice Lipstick Review & Swatches
Heatwave, 100 Degrees, and Tower 1 are three, limited edition Urban Decay Beached Vice Lipstick shades that launched with the Urban Decay Beached Collection for Summer 2018 that’s exclusively available at Ulta.
Ready for some fun Summer lip shades? There’s a few here that might be worthy of a haul but……
But….
I will say that I’d highly recommend waiting on them. GASP! SHOCK! Why!? Ok, so I finally found out that the Beached Eyeshadow Palette and the rest of the collection is exclusively available at Ulta. This means Urban Decay likely has something else up their sleeve for Summer. That could mean another palette or another mini collection that will launch exclusively at Sephora or mass market wide. That also means that Beached everything will likely hit the sale rack soon. I know, I know, I did cringe slightly when I said that. It’s just that limited edition makeup anything has no true value anymore so I do feel quite badly when LE items go on sale so quickly versus actually selling out. I’m just musing at this point as maybe I’m wrong but considering how super fast Kristen Leanne and the Jean-Michel Basquiat Collection went on sale I wouldn’t be too surprised if by June or July we see Beached popping up on sale too which means $10 lipsticks for everyone.
Sooooooo! There are a few shades in the Beached Vice Lipstick Collection that I really enjoyed but I don’t think the shades are unique or special enough to warrant going out right now and splurging $18 each on them. If anything use the money towards the eyeshadow palette as I did quite enjoy it and thought it was worthy of a purchase. But the lipstick, eh…you can probably wait them out.
These come in limited edition palm tree barrels and each one holds 0.11 oz of lipstick.
Oddly enough the shade I liked the most is the shade that most blogs and youTubers hate. Urban Decan Tower 1 Vice Lipstick is delightfully versatile. It’s a shade that looks good all its own, with gloss on top, or over lipstick or lip stain. It’s an extremely sheer peach with gold and pink sparkle that has a glossy look on my lips and applies with a lightweight, slick feel. It does unfortunately, leave behind chunky bits of glitter as it wears away but I just love how I can use it in any number of ways. In my photo for the review I’m wearing it on bare lips but with clear gloss on top it adds a rather pretty warm sparkle to my lips or I can just swipe it across red lipstick and it gives a bit of pop to the color. It’s not really worth $18 since it is essential a glittery coat of sheer nothingness but on sale! I’d totally recommend snagging it.
Another great and wearable shade is Urban Decay 100 Degrees Vice Lipstick. This is the shade you want to indulge in if you have drier lips and you can’t do oranges. This is orange-y coral that isn’t as bold as a true orange. It’s a nice Summer shade that reminds me of ice pops on a hot Summer day. The formula is more of a lip balm with a glossy, slick texture that glides onto lips beautifully and leaves behind a nice pop of color. The color and the shine factor make it a perfect shade for Summer lip looks.
For the thrill seekers we have Urban Decay Heatwave Vice Lipstick! This is the boldest and most pigmented of the three shades. It’s a strong cooper shade with a brown base and a metallic finish. The creamy texture glides on very easily and at one point I was a little concerned it would accentuate my natural lip lines but thankfully enough a quick swipe of a lip brush gave it a smoother finish.
All in all, the Urban Decay Beached Vice Lipsticks have a few fun picks but as I said you might want to wait these babies out to see if you can score a deal on them as I don’t see anything that’s a must have or truly unique enough to warrant grabbing all three right this very minute.
The Urban Decay Beached Vice Lipstick Collection is available now exclusively at Ulta.com.
