Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Sizzle Eyeshadow Palette for Summer 2018

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Sizzle Eyeshadow Palette, Shape Tape Setting Tape, Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer are just a few new Summer 2018 offerings arriving today on Tarte’s website.

I’m quite a fan of the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Eyeshadow formula and I have Volume 1, 2, and 3 and have put them to some good use. The shadows are a gel powder texture that’s very easy to blend and I consider it one of Tarte’s best formulas so I’m looking forward to trying the Sizzle version but I’m a little concerned the shades are a bit too light for me. We’ll see though because Tarte’s promotional images are way off as they’ve proven with the Aspyn Ovard Eye & Cheek Palette and recent Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Eye & Cheek Palette.

Tarte released quite a few other items but the star of the show is obviously the Rainforest of the Sea Sizzle Eyeshadow Palette ($36) which they call a sunset-inspired palette! It contains the following eight shades:

  • Kite Surf (metallic light peach champagne)
  • Snorkel (soft metallic pink)
  • Paddleboard (matte warm tan)
  • High Tide (metallic copper)
  • Off Duty (matte brown)
  • Sandcastle (metallic plum)
  • Starfish (metallic deep rose gold)
  • Playa (matte soft pink)

One of the other interesting releases is the new Tarte Shape Tape Setting Powder that’s available in transparent and transparent tan-deep. This looks like Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder due to the mesh cover on the pot. It was created to set Shape Tape Setting Powder while absorbing excess oil, mattifying, and blurring pores while preventing flashback in photos.

Along with the powder there’s a new Tarte Setting Superpower Powder Brush ($32) for application which gas soft bristles that allows you to easily buff on powder for an airbrushed finish.

And finally there’s a new Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer ($32) which has a coconut scent and is” packed with hyaluronic acid” (and alcohol ugh!) that cools, refreshes, and preps for makeup!

Anything you see that interests you? I do want the palette for sure. I thought the powder looked interested to set concealer but I might have to wait and see it in store before blind buying that one.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. I bought the palette last night. I haven’t bought any Tarte in a while so I felt I was due. 🙂 Then this morning I saw Nest has a new fragrance, Cocoa Woods. Hello swoon. Of course I have to try that. Thank goodness they had the small rollerball version so I could stay within a reasonable budget. Are you going to buy? I know you like Nest, and Chocolate and gourmand perfumes. I still need to use my 20% Ulta up too. I never thought I would reach their ridiculous platinum level like you had mentioned before, but I can’t believe it I am almost there. When will the madness stop. Lol.

I’m waiting on Sephora to get Cocoa Woods ;-D it sounds gorgeous! I got an email earlier in the week about it and I was like yp NEED that ;-D I reached Diamond in May and I was actually shocked, I really didn’t think I’d make it there! Congrats on almost being there! get on using that 20% off to tip yourself over ;D

That’s what I meant Diamond, not Platinum. Hehe. Yes I’m pretty sure I’ll reach it soon. It doesn’t help that I have their credit card and earn three times the points each month I use it. I actually just ordered Cocoa Woods from Sephora. That’s where I saw it or I would have never even known about it. Until you mention it of course in a review. 🙂

oh girl I totally know whatcha meant ;-D I don’t have their CC to be honest, I guess I really should get it because the rewards are pretty darn awesome. OH SHIT I didn’t even know Sephora had it! I thought it was on Nest early! I’m going to order now thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got an email from Nest about it but when I searched on Monday I didn’t see it on sephora’s site! Let me know how it is if you get it before me ;-D

          • Felicia

Lol. You are too cute and funny. If I get it early I’ll let you know what I think. I’m excited. The CC is a blessing and a curse. It’s way too easy for me to spend all my money on goodies but it’s awesome for the points. Have a great weekend Isabella!

I am interested in this palette. Mainly because it’s another one of those palettes with the formula for applying it with your fingers. Don’t know why but I still like to finger paint!

The colors in this palette aren’t really for me, but I have Vol 1 & 3 and I can speak for the formula, it is one of Tarte’s best. Very nice. I just bought the ColourPop setting powder so I’m probably good, but I would be interested in seeing this in person and testing it.

I have two Rainforest of the Sea palettes, and this new one looks very nice, but I think it might be too metallic for me. I adore the round packaging of these palettes.
