Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colour Review & Swatches
Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colour is a new liquid satin lipstick that’s a follow to Rimmel’s Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour. I ran across a display of these recently at Harmon’s an assortment of shades and I thought I’d pick one up since I’m not fond of mattes but satin? I’m cool with that.
Here’s a look!
Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colour arrive in identical packaging to the Stay Matte formula with a triangle shaped barrel that holds 0.21 oz of product and will set you back $4.99 per shade. Not a lot has changed with the packaging or the price although, the packaging could be a pain if you store your matte and satins together as telling them apart will be an issue.
I loved this formula! It’s light, creamy, virtually weightless on my lips yet feels very lightly hydrating and has excellent color pay off on a single swipe with a smooth, even finish with a slight shine on the initial application that sets to a satiny finish as it sets. These aren’t a long-wearing formula that seals on lips and doesn’t remove until you take it off. But none the less I did get a nice solid five hours wear without migration or feathering. They do have an odd vanilla taste that morphs into a weird cardboard, plastic flavor which fades within a few minutes of application.
I picked up a single shade which I deeply regret! I’ll def be picking up more as soon as I get back to Harmon’s. I got Shoulder Pads which is a nice warm peachy nude that worked quite well with my skin tone.
Overall, Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colour was quite a nice satiny lip color that had a strong and comfortable wear. I’d totally recommend checking these out at drugstores!
Where to buy
Rimmel Stay Satin Liquid Lip Colour is available in 14 permanent shades and 0.21 oz in size for $4.99. This formula is soft, creamy, lightly hydrating, and quite weightless on lips with a slight shine on the initial application that sets to a smooth, satiny finish within a few seconds that wears for a solid five hours without migration or feathering issues.
- Affordable.
- Nice variety of shades including unusual ones such as purple and gray.
- Creamy yet lightweight and comfortable to wear.
- Pigmented.
- Same packaging as Stay Matte which could be confusing when doing a quick grab and go.
Anyone who doesn’t really love mattes should get on well with this formula. Rimmel goes with a more traditional satin texture that was easy to wear and lightweight but still provided plenty of pigmentation and a nice long-wear that you’d get from a matte liquid lipstick formula.
