I Purchased All The New Kilian My Kind of Love Fragrances and I Have No Regrets

Kilian My Kind of Love

I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for the new line of My Kind of Love Kilian Fragrances to launch at sephora.com and they finally did today and I hauled ALL of them. Well, let me clarify I hauled all the travel sprays ($30 each) because Kilian doesn’t come cheap and I can at least experience these new fragrances without overindulging too much!

As with most fragrance brands lately, Kilian has launched a new range of scents geared towards millennial. We’ve seen plenty of this already with launches like Angel Muse, Chanel L’eau, and Poison Girl just to name a few.

It comes as no great surprise that Kilian went this way since like the rest of the beauty brands out there it is owned by Estee Lauder and Estee Lauder does so love to target millennials. But also, Kilian has never been a niche house that ever took themselves too seriously. In saying this I simply mean they have unique, complex blends but they also aren’t afraid of releasing a scent that’s peppered with sweetness and all things yummy. Kilian Hennessy as always been very free with the gourmands. He’s also been free about potentially raising the $300 price point on the main line of fragrances so, I guess By Kilian fans can be grateful for the millennial line which starts at $30 and up to $135 for 3.4 oz. $135? A price unheard of in the Kilian world of fragrance and quite appealing to a younger demographic. Apparently at the current $300 mark the main line is not making the margins that Estée Lauder wants so stock up now before those prices disappear.

The new line consists of four fragrances which are:

  • Princess (A warm, spicy, sweet gourmand with a kick that contains ginger, green tea, and marshmallow)
  • Kissing (a warm floral with gourmand notes of Lily of the Valley, Hot Milk, and Sugar Candy)
  • Boys (A fresh woody citrus with notes of cola, cinnamon, and cedarwood)
  • Adults (a warm, sweet, spicy gourmand with Fig Milk, Cedarwood, and Vanilla)

I am beyond eager to get my order and try these out to see if I need the larger sizes. If you appreciate niche fragrance brands I’m sure you’ll find this a very exciting release especially at this price point.

    Prob not, but the travel spray (a/k/a serious intro size) is the best thing since sliced bread. For real. (and I am so deeply saddened that I did not score the Creed men’s set during the sale, that i’m going to get a Nordie’s card to join the first in liners.) Got all the relevant-to-me Commodities, L’Ateliers, etc. You really can build a respectable variety with those smaller vials, and then go big for what you really loved. Win-win. Of these, Boys is the most my speed.

      ITA on the travel sprays! A great intro to these without breaking the bank and later on indulging in a larger size if it is a keeper!

        It’s kind of sweet, but it has an awesome ginger balance to make it spicy. To me it’s perfect, because one note doesn’t overpower another.

    Yay! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts. I have all four travel sprays in my cart but am waiting for your sage review since I have yet to pull the trigger on any Kilian but when I saw them yesterday and saw the price I was so excited and of course thought of you. Lol. I had a feeling you would be getting them. I’m especially excited to smell boys. That sounds so interesting. Please share your thoughts, I’m a bit overloaded with new fragrance at the moment so I will be waiting. I’m still working my way through that Raw Spirit sampler set, I really want the Pinrose Sun Saint and Clean Reserve Acqua Neroli since I just used up my samples of those and I loved!

      I REALLY need to review that raw spirit sampler ;-D Clean Reserve is sort of weak on me so not tempted by Acqua Neroli! For some reason I was so excited about the reserves but disappointed how short a time they last. I pulled the trigger this morning as soon as they popped up! very rarely disappointed by his releases so I’m hoping for something special from these! Princess is the one I’m most excited about 😀

    Thank God! This is one set I’m very excited about. I love the new “Love the Way You Feel” It’s just like Bain De Soleil, except at a much higher price tag.

      Oh I was so so curious about it! I’m loving Love the Way You Taste! it’s like a big mojito ;-D I haven’t yet smelled Love the Way You Feel Yet though!

    I nabbed Adults and Boys and cannot WAIT to try them (I got Princess as a sample but am less excited about this due to the marshmallow note). I normally purchase Killian samples from Twisted Lily since it’s super affordable and I get to try some of their super fun (and super niche) scents. 😀

        Finally got them in the mail yesterday. I AM IN FREAKING LOVE with Boys, the Cola mixed with Cedarwood is a huge hit with me. At first I really disliked Adults …. but the way it melted into my skin was excellent. I’m so glad I picked these up. What about you?

          YAY! so glad you love ;-D I love them too! So far Kissing seems a fav! Very nice grown up gourmand! ;-D I have to test Boys a little more as I’m only getting the cedarwood! Well worth picking up larger bottles though me thinks!

            GAH. I’m going to have to see if I can find a sample or test Kissing in store. I’m honestly not sure on that one as I’m really picky about gourmand scents. Hopefully I can get my hands on it soon. I noticed the cola on boys is strong on first application, but am pretty sure it’s a topnote as it faded fast on me.

    Boys sounds really interesting but I’m so hesitant to blind buy. I admire your ability to just throw caution to the winds like that. I just bought a new fragrance (Cefiro by Floris) but I had to try it on and walk around for a while and check it with my husband before I was willing to commit. Sometimes even when I think I like something, later I discover base notes I’m less crazy about, or it doesn’t last the way I’d like…or something that doesn’t quite lead to total fragrance satisfaction. It’s so tricky! How do you do it? How do you find so many fragrances you love?

      I’ve only blind purchased two fragrances that I hated and have purchased many online ;-D I just get lucky lol! Also, I sort of read a ton of reviews and look up the notes etc before I throw too much caution to the wind so there is some plan in place before I buy ;-D lucky enough I loved all of these so it was a good purchase!

    I can’t wait to see what you think. I’m super curious about them. Sephora only has them online booooooo. But I found out about Black Phoenix Alchemy from you and definitely like a lot of the same type of scents you do. Bottles and names look super cute.
