Sephora Flash Shipping Price Change as of September 2018

Rumors have been circulating that Sephora Flash Shipping would have a price raise from $10 to $15 every since I posted the Sephora Rewards Benefit Updates for 2018 but I haven’t seen anything to validate the price raise. At the moment, Sephora Flash is available for $10 at Sephora.com and there’s no mention on the Sephora site that a price raise was in the works.

Thankfully enough I now have an e-mail in my possession that my reader tweeted me which indeed shows that they’ll be a price change as of September 26th, 2018.

Well that sucks!

The problem with the price raise would be that most people have a serious issue with Sephora’s new shipping method, Lasership.

I already get flash shipping free because I’m a Rouge Member however, if I wasn’t I would pay the $15 for Flash Ship since my orders arrive within one day. I mean if I order something right now from Sephora it’ll be on my doorstep tomorrow. Totally worth $15 for sure. It actually wasn’t always like this for me though! My orders would arrive within 3 to 4 today prior to Lasership. If I ordered today with the old shipping method (which was UPS I believe) I’d get it either Thursday or the latest would be Friday.

I wouldn’t pay more for that kind of service as that’s just regular old shipping. However, with Lasership I would pay the increase without an issue to get my packages as quickly as they have been coming lately.

On that note, I will say no one loves a price increase and I see this being an issue for a lot of people that experience horrible service with Lasership!

Sucks but nothing good lasts forever.

Are you willing to pay the price increase for Sephora Flash?

Have you had a good experience with Lasership?

Do share your thoughts on this news!

Considering that during the time I had Sephora Flash my orders were NEVER on time and were frequently wrong I’m not willing to jump back on the flash train for any price, let alone $15.

I hear this from a lot of people and I don’t blame you for not wanting to pay for crummy shipping!

      • Audrey

I’m on board with Cassie. I’ve paid for “Flash Shipping” only to still receive my orders with 3-5 days. My Ulta orders always come before my Sephora orders!

I wouldn’t pay for that kind of service either! that’s awful! Mine used to be that way too until they switched to lasership!

  • Adrienne

I had to pay the $10 after my spending dropped and then my status. I didn’t have a huge problem with delivery, not happy about the extra $5 but if it balances out some other perks I guess it’s ok and it’s only a one time fee.

Hey that’s me – I’m the reader who tweeted you! I’m still on the fence about renewing. On one hand the ship speed sucks and is going up by a whopping 30% – DANG. On the other hand, if I place a few orders from Sephora per year, which I will, let’s be real, I will have recouped the amount spent on flash shipping anyway.
UGH it’s just the PRINCIPLE, you know??

Hey!!!!!! ;-D I linked your tweet here ;-D thanks for confirming this!!!!!!!!! I totally agree! But I’m kinda of immune now because Amazon Prime went up so many times much to my anger that now I’m like ok here’s my money I’m not going to fight! lol!

I know a lot of people hate Lasership but I live in Manhattan and get all of my Sephora orders next day or the day after w/ Flash Shipping. Knock on wood but I haven’t had any problems with Lasership yet!

I’m in New York too and likewise. No issues at all! Within a day my order arrives! It’s great! I would pay for flash if I wasn’t rouge with that kind of service!

I’m in Mississippi and recently looked back over my shipping times out of curiosity when an order took four business days (six including weekend, but I don’t hold that against them even though UPS definitely works on Saturdays). I have never received an order in less than three business days. I am Rouge, but paid for Flash shipping before I reached Rouge. I would never pay for Flash again at any price. When people complain about Ulta’s shipping times I always just kind of shrug my shoulders because they’re never all that different for me. But if you get your order from Sephora in a day, I could see how that $15 would be worth it for you. I guess it’s very regional.

I’m locked in unti Jan 2019 at $10 but I will not be renewing. I’ve always received my packages within two days but lately for my address they’ve switched from UPS to USPS so the hike in price is ridiculous IMO. The wording of their email is super confusing too, I had to reread it to make sure they weren’t going to charge me $5 next month.

ITA! I wasn’t sure if they’d be changing the price on everyone starting September!

  • Randi Macdonald

Yes, I’ll pay for it. Even though I’m not ordering that often anymore. Its 5 bucks, its 42 cents a month. No biggie.

  • Amber

I’m Rouge, so I don’t have to worry about it for a while, but I would gladly pay the $15 if I had to. They still use UPS for my packages, but very rarely do they take 3 days. 2 is normal and sometimes if I’ve ordered early in the am, they will come next-day. I don’t live near Sephora and I order ALL. THE. TIME. I mean, I’m probably one of the reasons the price went up. There are plenty of times I order a couple of sheet masks or an eyeliner or some other small thing and that’s it. I do hate that it’s going up, but for me it would still be worth it.

Lasership is THE WORST. Thankfully, Sephora gives the option for USPS at checkout. I’ll take it. I purchase a FLASH subscription just for the convenience of placing small orders and not have to worry about additional shipping costs. It’s worth it for me, even at $15 a year.

I do feel like their flash shipping takes forever, although when I look through the tracking for my orders I think it is the order preparation time that takes so dang long. I will probably keep it though because I don’t always order $50 of stuff every time. It’s been a godsend with some last minute gifts. My family lives far away from me and it’s easy to send my mom stuff straight to her house for mother’s day, Christmas, etc.

  • MissMercurial

I still just really want to be able to use points to buy Flash membership, even besides the increased price 🙁

  • Carolina

Here in Houston I’m still getting my Sephora orders via UPS. Their service is some of the worse out there. Heck, it may just be the worst! However, I am gladly paying the extra $5 for flash shipping. In the long run I feel like I am saving a wee bit of money as opposed to overspending to hit the $50 for free shipping (yeah, I’ve done that before).

I’m in Texas and my orders delivery on time. If i order late in the day they are put on an overnight shipping for the next day so I will still get them in 2 days. I do deliver to my work place so the deliveries seem more reliable to me since they are delivered during business hours. No waiting till 8pm!
FLASH is great but I already canceled the auto-renew. Honestly I purchased it because of The Ordinary skincare since I could pick up a item at a time and only picked up one thing and now they are not on Sephora. I am not willing to pay 15.
