The Bulk of My Sephora Sale Order Is Fragrance

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Many of you know I’m a huge lover of fragrance and I really can’t wait for tomorrow as I have a rather big fragrance wish list that I’ll be hauling during the Sephora sale tomorrow. I always feel it’s rather rare for higher-end perfumes to go on sale so it’s nice to take advantage of them when they are.

One of the things I’ll be discussing in this post are some scents I wanted to purchase but also, I have some really great suggestions and recommendations you might want to take advantage of during the sale.

Ok, so the sheer amount of discovery sets that Sephora offers on niche brands is mind boggling! I love, love, love, love they do this. It’s such a great way to try really expensive fragrances without having to spend a ton of money! Not only that but many of these sets sometimes contain the entire catalog of scents offered from a house.

replica discovery sets

The Replica Discovery Set For Him ($52) is a must for Fall! Don’t worry about that little “for him” thrown in there because as far as I’m concerned Replica is unisex and anyone can wear their scents. The reason I love this set so much is because it contains some of my favorite scents! You get three 0.34 oz mists in Jazz Club, At the Barbers, and By the Fireplace. By the Fireplace is my favorite scent. It’s warm, cozy, smoky, it reminds me of Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside. If you like more masculine scents you should get on great with this!

Comptoir Sud Pacifique Discovery Collection ($14 after discount) is a set I’m reluctant to recommendation only because these aren’t mist samples but vials. I hate vials. They are so damn messy however, this house has so amazing, delicious scents that it’s well worth picking this up!

You get 7 x 0.07 oz sample vials of Vanilla Abricot, Vanilla Blackberry, Vanilla Coco, Vanilla Extreme, Coco Extreme, Coco Figue, Aqua Motu

Believe me some of these smell like vacation in a bottle! I have the full-sizes of Vanilla Coco, Vanilla Extreme, and Coco Extreme! They are divine! So do check this set out for a little tasty of yummy tropical gourmands!

I recommended it many times before and will recommend it again! The Juliette Has a Gun Discovery Kit ($14) is another set well worth indulging in! And these are sprays not vials! Phew!

You get:

  • 7 x 0.06 oz Sunny Side Up, Anyway, Gentlewoman, Mad Madame, MMMM…, Lady Vengeance, Another Oud
  • 0.135 oz Not A Perfume Eau de Parfum Travel Spray

By Rosie Jane just recently launched this past Summer on Sephora and they already have a complete Discovery Set available of all their scents for $30 ($24 after discount)! You get 0.1 oz samples of Leila Lou, Tilly, James, Rosie, and Angie.

Ellis Brooklyn also joins the realms of discover sets with the Chronicle Fragrance Discovery Set ($18 after discount) that includes 7 x 0.07 oz mists in Rrose, Myth, Sci Fi, Rives, Raven, Fawn, and Fable. Sci Fi is one of my favs!

Kilian My Kind of Love

Discovery Sets aside there are quite a few full-size fragrances worth looking into such as the new By Kilian Collection. If you’re into niche fragrances you might fill the 3.5 oz $135 price tag is expensive but that’s actually quite affordable for this brand plus the extra 20% off brings them down to $108 dollars. I purchased all the mini sprays already which are $24 after discount and I’ve been testing and falling in love with them! So far, Kissing is on my list to buy a full-size of. If you like gourmands this is a collection you might want to explore!

Also, on my list the new Viktor & Rolf Magic Fragrances. Top on the list is Magic Dancing Roses which contains notes of roses and cherry!

What’s on your fragrance wish list?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Girl, they don’t put everything in the right place online Sephora. There’s a 7 virtues set as well, Canadian, with good community development attached. Going to get 2 of those (what me Vetiver?) and the Hermès garden sampler. They don’t have the other H set, with rhubarb eclartant, etc, but maybe xmas. I got so annoyed that I lost out on the men’s Creed sampler at Nordie’s sale, bec not a cardholder/gone, that i’m going to get a card. Mad at comptoir Sud as well. I get marketing and I understand that what sells is what we get. But I want Eau des Gouveneurs and Vetiver Haiti. Intnl is totally OOC. But Comptoir is giving us what’s popular, gourmand and tropical. But CS does them vey well; good house and I second your rec for those who favor that scent style. The MMM are good choices as well. Accessible for that smell-memory axis that Brosius does well…unless he makes you uncomfortable! The MMM are highly associative, but def pleasant; nary a petrichor in the few tinies I have. Good recs for the sale. (Just returned some dead pencils for a store credit, that I turned around and spent on the mini Nest sampler.) The Berdoues has fewer choices than previously…there were 9 I think. Both the Nest and the Berdoues have such super packaging, that they’d be great hostess gifts. Ooh, my age is showing. Hostess gifts.

I like that Sephora is getting a broader niche selection, but I wish that translated into the brick and mortar stores. I definitely like to test before buying, since some scents can go horribly wrong on my skin, lol. I’ve had high end scents turn into “burned rubber and asphalt” within 5 minutes of application.

Of the ones I’ve tried, though, I might have to pick up a full bottle of Commodity Tea or Book. I got a candle and 3ml travel spray set of Book, Tea, and Orris, and I really liked Tea and Book. Just wish they lasted longer! Orris, unfortunately, turned on me. Sucked, since I usually love Orris/Iris scents.

YES YES YES! I wish they’d bring in store! But it is happening, slowly, but happening. They have all the Juliette scents in store which is groundbreaking and also replica! Also, groundbreaking imho! As prior to that it was difficult to smell either brand at Sephora. I love Book, also tea and golden ;-D The discovery sets are also nice so you can mix ’em with tea or book!

OMG Viktor & Rolf’s Magic Dancing Roses is at the TOP OF MY LIST! It smells exactly like the Rose Jam Bubbleroon from Lush on initial spray and on dry down it smells complex like Penhaligon’s The Coveted Duchess Rose!!! I need it sooooo bad!

    • Isabella Muse

haha great minds! IT REALLY does smell like Rose Jam on first spray! I don’t get the Penhaligon’s vibe though as Coveted Duchess Rose is a little softer on me! V&R feels more vibrant and rose candy-ish on my skin! ;D
