For those looking for details about the Sephora Holiday 2018 Bonus Event please click here!

The rumors are true Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Event and Sale for Fall 2018 for 20% Off for Rouge, 15% Off for VIB, and 10% off for BI starts tomorrow at sephora.com and in Sephora stores for Rouge Members first and ending on September 3rd and VIB and BI Members can start shipping Thursday, August 30th.

Codes are as follows and can be used in store or online (the code can be used only ONCE online but can be used in store as many times as you like):

  • Rouge: YESROUGE (Valid 8/24-9/3)
  • VIB: YESVIB (Valid 8/30-9/3)
  • Insider: YESINSIDER (Valid 8/30-9/3)

Apparently this offer will also be available in Canada too and at Sephora JCPenny stores as well as online at sephora.com.

Typically they also start releasing Holiday previews around this time but with the sale I’m unsure if that will be the case. I sure hope it will be! It would be nice to get our hands on some early Holiday releases at sale prices wouldn’t it?

I know I have a list a mile long either way 🙂

I guess Sephora is finally listening to us as they only typically offer 20% off for the Holidays only! They are also updating their rewards in 2019! Exciting changes are coming though and I couldn’t be happier about it as Ulta has been really getting a lot of our business because of their great rewards and it looks like Sephora is finally realizing they have to start offering the same incentives to keep their members happy and buying!

If you need some help picking some stuff out I’m working on recommendation guides right now:

And here are a few tips and tricks to follow for the sale that might be helpful!

Getting money back for purchases!
Don’t forget to use ebates.com to save anywhere from 2 to 8% at Sephora.com (as well as many other retailers) during the sale! Sign up for a free account today and you’ll instantly get back money on your purchases!

Shop the Sale During the Sale
Don’t forget Sephora.com has an entire sale section that already has up to 50% off. You can take an extra 20% off already reduced prices from that section which is a saving is 70% or more!

When does the sale happen? What times does it start?
The sale starts on August 24th for Rouge Members and ends on September 3rd. The promo code will likely go live at 12AM EST or 3AM EST but Sephora has confirmed the exact time. For both VIB and BI Members the sale starts on the August 30th and ends on September 3rd. This is both in store and online for all three members.

Is it only in store? What about Sephora at JCPenny?
The sale is online at sephora.com using the promo codes listed above as well as at all store locations and at JCPenny stores.

Get Your Cart Ready Right Now and Shop Early
I always like to fill my cart the night before with what I want as I don’t feel rushed this way and I can take time shopping slowly and make proper choices and not spur of the moment ones. You can also use the “love” list on Sephora to mark off items you want and keep them handy in one place if you’re shopping in store.

My item sold out!
Check back! Sometimes items will sell out but I notice Sephora is fairly fast to restock within a day or two!

Can I use the promo code more than once? Do they limit what I buy? Are their exclusions?
Sadly, the promo code is one use online but in stores you can use it as many times as you like. The only exclusion is the Dyson Hair Dryer but all other brands both mid and high-end are up for grabs.

What’s your wish list looking like?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I’ll be grabbing some Hourglass things but the Sephora sales are SO ho-hum compared to Ulta.

The new “rewards” at Sephora are very yaawwwwn as well. I used to be so so excited about Sephora…

  • Beth

This is awesome I have been waiting to haul some stuff and repurchase some skincare and I had no idea this was right around the corner!

  • kjh

Of course you made me look… prob replenishing laneige lip sleeping (regular…anytime is good for that,) and trying the eye sleeping and regular sleeping. The only time I tend to use true moisturizer, as opposed to water based targeted txs, is at night over Differin. Liked the water bank gel, so those 3 sleeping products should be good. Will check out the BM water based foundation. (KGD reformulated.) And read mufe waterblend, to see if they deep sixed the Benzyl salicylate. I really don’t get why they use it here in the US, if that ingredient is banned in the EU. Why not sell the same bloody thing that the Euros use? Baffling and stupid, and it drops my temp to 93…. I feel like croaking. Maybe some Fenty or Nars for color. Not major psyched these days.

I read that all Beauty Insider members can only use their 20% off coupon ONCE online during the event and unlimited times inside a Sephora store. That stipulation disappointed me as I live 2+ hours away from a Sephora store and 95% of my purchases are made online. (I usually place several online orders during the event.) All in all, it’s nice to see Sephora is listening to consumers and upgrading their rewards program which will help level the playing field with Ulta. A win-win situation for all.

I normally pick one new product from every category: primer, foundation, blush, eyeshadow palette, lipstick, skincare and hair care item. Do you think Sephora will still have another 20% off event in November?

    • Isabella Muse

that sucks 🙁 I’m sorry! I sure as heck hope so it was one of my concerns when I wrote this post that maybe they wouldn’t have a November sale! but let’s hope that won’t be the case!

  • Paige

Ulta has stolen 90% of my previous Sephora business and the employees are WAY nicer if I have to go to the physical store. I now only order from Sephora if the beauty offer is something I really want in travel size (I know I can get small travel containers but I really like to have my travel products in their own branded container because I like that better for some reason, then I refill those).

Anyway, once Ulta started getting a lot of the Korean brands and I didn’t have to wait 4 weeks from Yesstyle for my CosRX stuff, I was in heaven. And then QVC started getting other things I like and their special values are unbeatable. So long Sephora, and your stinky sending or not sending at all of the 3 samples picked, boo.

I was going to get the IT Cosmetics airbrush powder which my skin loves like nothing ever before, but it would be like $29 and change on Sephora, it’s $25 on IT Cosmetics site right now, and Ulta will probably have another IT event so I’ll wait on that. Instead I will get more Olaplex #3, 4, and 5 at Sephora, until someone else (please Ulta so I can get more points) picks those up.

Cosrx. Big love. Even if Ulta still doesn’t have all I use. (like the PHA spray, which has the best spray I’ve ever seen on any product, ever (and I’m nearly 70.) Short ingredient list, targeted, effective. Where was Cosrx when I was 30? NOTHING worked back then. Totally diehard Cosrx, forever. And Yesstyle wait is endless. A Prime is not too bad.

  • Catazure

Please do make some recommendations!!! I am going to stock up on No More Bleeding Lips (lip liner) for one thing 🙂

  • Kimmwc03

I’m glad they are finally making some long overdue changes but I’m not as enamored with Sephora as I used to be. I don’t have a list yet but I look forward to your list, Isabella.

    • Isabella Muse

I have a smallish list myself but I’m hoping by the time the sale rolls around there might be more new stuff I want 😀

  • Eva Lee

But like, is the November sale still on? That’s when I get all my Xmas gifts. =)

    • Isabella Muse

that’s a good question and one I’m asking myself too! I hope they aren’t doing away with it!

      • kjh

Really don’t see how they could. It’d break their own tradition and alienate millions. Esp not now, when they are trying to compete and be responsive to customer complaints about their sales/rewards system. It would be nice to be able to use S points to discount your total purchase price, if only at the pre-Xmas sale. I rarely use S any more, and still have about 4K points hanging around. Bury them with me!

  • Kish

I want the Natasha Denona Green Brown palette, so maybe I’ll grab that. And maybe The 7 Virtues set or a Kilian or two lol.

    • Isabella Muse

yes to the 7 virtues set! Kilian yes! got my travel sprays yesterday and they are amazings but going to haul full size now with the sale 😀

    • kjh

OMG, thanks for 7 virtues. 2 are totally up my street, and love the small option.

  • Genny

I guess my no buy will have to start in September! Better start curating a list.

  • April

Question, if a purchase would put me into Rouge, would I be able to use the Rouge discount on that purchase?

    • Isabella Muse

doubtful. You’d likely have to be rouge already not at the time of purchase.

  • Bethanne

I’m giving more and more of my business to Ulta due to their reward program. In fact, I’m just a couple of dollars away from hitting Diamond status (yikes!). I will probably buy something during the Sephora sale, but I’m really turned off by their shipping policies. Plus, whenever I go in the store, the sales associates are not very friendly or helpful. I still think they have great skincare and make up lines, so I will continue to shop there when I need to buy items I can’t find i I will probably buy something during the Sephora sale, but I’m really turned off by their shipping policies. • Isabella Muse

Nope, Charlotte won’t be available at the time the sale takes place. If they have the normal sale during the Holidays than yes as at that time CT will be available.

  • Dee

I’m keeping my list short. I got a sample of YSL Touche Eclat Blur Primer and it’s fantastic. Revlon PhotoReady is my favorite for everyday, but the YSL is so beautiful I just have to get a full size. Also want Hourglass Ambient Blush in Mood Exposure. I have that shade in the mini and want a full size.

  • OLIVIA

Oh my gawwdddd!!! I’m so excited for this, I’ve been wanting to haul a couple new things that have cropped up over the last few months but can’t justify buying makeup/skincare at full price anymore. We’ve been so spoiled with sales and k-beauty! I’m 100% hauling a new fragrance I tried and LOVED… Commodity Book, def TF Better than Sex Birthday edition (I bought this full price and then had buyers remorse and returned it thinking it’ll go on sale in a month anyway… lol), and Hourglass Caution Extreme Mascara. As if I need more mascara…

    • Isabella Muse

dyson is excluded, drunk elephant is three items per transaction, no other exclusions.

I got my “Flash Shipping price is going up” by 50% (from $10 to $15) email yesterday and I don’t use Sephora as much as I do Ulta. However, I also HATE paying $6 or $7 for shipping so I will probably keep the Flash Shipping and figure if I buy twice online in a year, it’s paid for itself. Ugh.
