Ulta Platinum and Diamond Appreciation Buying List

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Stuck on what to buy during the Ulta Platinum and Diamond Appreciation Day? Welcome to the club. I’m actually torn at the moment whether to wait on the cart of stuff I have an see if a 20% off coupon pops up or to take advantage of the one day sale and get 10 to 5x the points on my purchases. The better choice would be the points, that’s pretty much a no brainer but some part of me is like, “but, wait they’ll be 20% off soon!” Who knows when it’ll happen though!? In time for Sephora’s Appreciation Day? Later? Maybe October?

Sigh!

Decisions decisions!

Burt’s Bees Moisturizing Liquid Lipstick is on my list. It’s Fall which is a typical time for Burt’s Bees to introduce some new lip product! This time around they have a shiny, pigmented, hydrated selection of liquid lipsticks that are available!

Much of what I want from the Peach & Lily Skincare Collection is sold out but the Lazy Day’s All-In-One Moisture Pads are still available and in my cart. These are pretty nifty as they act like a toner, essence, and moisturizer all in one and contain ceramides and Hyaluronic Acid. Kind of a good pick to prep with or if you’re going lighter with moisturizer they are ideal to hydrate quickly.

I wouldn’t say the Maybelline Lemon Craze Eyeshadow Palette had the best formula but it was damn fun which is why I will be picking up the new Soda Pop Eyeshadow Palette that launched today!

I have a few of the Clinique My Happy Scents on my list that I thought today might be a good day to haul!

I could kick myself for ordering the Too Faced Tutti Fruitt Collection already otherwise I’d have totally hauled it today to get the points! Grrrr!

I ran out so I’m restocking up on Memebox Nooni Deep-Cleanse Snowflake Jelly Cleansing Oil which is amazing! It’s a great little cleanser to get all your makeup off after a long day!

Nooni Snowflake Cleansing Oil

I was playing with the idea of picking up the new BH Cosmetics Desert Oasis Color Shadow & Highlighter Palette as a lot of these shades are so me. It looks like a lovely Summer palette but the shades will transition nicely into Fall!

I’m still making my list but that’s what is on it so far.

How about you?

Do share your wish list!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I restrained myself and mostly stuck to basics that I had been planning to buy during the upcoming Sephora sale: Anastasia clear brow gel, Nars soft matte concealer, Lancome Pure Focus toner, but then a few fun things too: a MAC lipstick from the scented Oh Sweetie collection, a Maybelline matte ink lipstick since I’ve heard such good things about them, and the soda pop palette (couldn’t resist-I love soda and purple!).

And, I think I may end up reaching Diamond this year! Just finding myself shopping at Ulta a lot more this year with all their new brands.

    • Isabella Muse

nice haul! ;-D I got the Soda Pop Palette too! I was actually surprised to hit Diamond! Didn’t think it would happen!

I’m getting the TF cool-toned eyeshadow palette from the Tutti Frutti collection, and some of the new “blush drops” from Flower Beauty. Liquid or cream blushes play nicer with my dry skin compared to powder ones, especially the older I get. I returned the two new Morphe palettes I got — terrible quality, and so much draaaaaama — so I can justify today’s purchase.

    • Isabella Muse

oh no! that bad!? few people have already emailed me to say the same! I’m getting the new flower beauty liquid blushes too! they look cool!

      • Susan

They do! I had a hard time choosing between the colors Pinched and Bubbly, went with Pinched to see how I like the formula. Oh, those Morphe palettes! Admittedly, only $15 each but even so, amazingly crappy. Patchy, don’t blend, colors fade dramatically, colors in pan don’t translate to the eye, some of the shimmers impossible to pick up with a brush, plus I feel the company and JH are outright lying about several things regarding the release and I cannot support them.

        • Isabella Muse

oh wow. that sucks! I can’t believe it 🙁 I saw a lawsuit popped up too which I didn’t read much on it yet but was shocked to see! :-O!

I pounced on the Maybelline Soda Pop palette (thanks so much for the heads-up earlier today!) and City Mini Palette (in Blushed Avenue): also the new Flower Beauty Blush Bomb color drops.

I was really good and only got 2 things I’m actually needing – Drybar dry shampoo and Smashbox primer. I know there’s a coupon coming soon for both Ulta and Sephora and I HATE paying full price for stuff LOL
But my 2 items were both 10x points, so I took the deal lol I have a list at both stores that I want to pick up – PTR Skin to Die For primer – got a sample and LOVED it, another dry shampoo, I wanted to get another Laneige lip mask with the Sephora coupon, but the flavors are all sold out (good thing I got a back up!).. I’m TRYING to be mindful of what I need vs. what I want this time around ;D

    • Isabella Muse

SMART smart SMART I try and do the “do I need or do I want it?” in my head all the time!

      • Janessa

Ohh believe me girl, I will justify a ‘want’ as a ‘need’ in a heartbeat! Like I’m going to NEEEED the new Charlotte Tillbury PillowTalk blush when it comes out in Sept. I’m being good about only wanting stuff from the new TF fruity collection. I think I can wait for the elusive coupon for that.

        • Isabella Muse

LOL likewise ;-D I did damage on TF tutti frutti hope I don’t live to regret it!

I used to get really excited about these points events. That was before I got my hands on the Ultamate MasterCard, which I use for absolutely *everything*. So every month, I’m getting 500-700 points from that. I’d rather buy stuff on sale, and am holding out for the next 20% off coupon.

What I got from Ulta today is BLOCKED. They locked down my diamond account and I am no longer allowed to place orders online as of this morning. I’ve called customer service and Facebook pm’d them and they can’t or won’t tell me why nor will they remove the restriction. I guess we are breaking up, Ulta and I. I am keeping the makeup in this divorce though.

      • Toni

Ulta has a maximum of 6 online orders allowed per day as it turns out. It took me writing an email to the CEO of Ulta to find that out and even that took 5 days. Apparently neither their customer service dept (including supervisors) nor their IT dept is aware of this daily limit. My genius technique of checking out and paying for a few items at a time (so they would not sell out before I got them) was apparently not a good choice for me on 10x points day.

I bought a sample set that has all the Clinique My Happy scents. They are all nice but don’t last long on me and are light. They seem like they were made for layering. I like Cocoa and Cashmere the best and it seems like a cozy late fall and winter fragrance. I wish the chocolate top notes lasted longer though. Happy Splash is just a watered down version of Happy to me. The prices are good so it may make up for having to spay more on.

    • Isabella Muse

I did too from macys! They are very light and not at all long wearing but I still really liked the Cocoa and Cashmere ;-D so decided to grab that!

  • Angie

I’m over 6k points with my order today. It’s killing me not to use them!!!!! Staying strong! Lolol

  • Michelle

I stocked up on some of my bigger items, drybar and Pureology Shampoo/Conditioner. I also used my 2,000 points for this purchase. I earned all of that back plus a couple so I am all set for the 20% off plus another 2,000 points to use!

  • kjh

Did not think I had time, but uh, points! (scored>1300) with a Nars VLG (they added my total mauvey faves from the summer launch, but I got Roseland) a dark powermatte, 3 Hand in Hand bath products, sea salt, and the FAB triple duty eye that is running low. Not bad work between my two Monday jobs. Glad I did not fall for the JH palettes, thanks, guys. I’ll stick with my Zoevas on Black Friday.

    • Isabella Muse

I picked up soda pop and three other things yesterday and held off too! I hope to see 20% happening soon too!

  • Stephanie

Hi Muse! I ended up giving in and bought the Norvina palette. I used my points so I ended up getting it for $30 and I was happy that I earned 5x points on it. Can’t wait to use it!

    • Isabella Muse

Nice Stephanie! ;-D Let me know if you like it!!!!!!!!! ;D Enjoy, wear in health!
