The Ulta exclusive Urban Decay Aphrodisiac Eyeshadow Palette for Fall 2018 launched today and I’ll have a review live for you this week but how are you guys feeling about this one? Looks like purple might be a trending shades for Fall looks this year! The Norvina Eyeshadow Palette started us early on the trend and looks like other brands are heading into warmer plum tones for the season ahead.

I think quite a few people will be disappointed by the Aphrodisiac Eyeshadow Palette ($29) since like the Norvina one it contains a lot less cooler purples and more warmer ones combined with warmer nudes as well. I’m actually sort of struggling with combining some of the shades at the moment which has held up my review slightly as I brain storm a look out of the five colors.

Shades include:

  • Sheets (warm nude matte)
  • Beyond (matte terra-cotta)
  • Night Fever (soft rose gold metallic)
  • Addict (deep magenta shimmer)
  • Glare (metallic brown with gold shimmer)
  • Whiplash (deep reddish-brown matte)

I have to say this palette does feel like a prelude of a bigger purple palette for Fall. I’m placing bets we’ll see a Naked Purple Eyeshadow Palette or a Smoky Purple Eyeshadow Palette as we towards the end of this month. I could place bets on that one and likely win big.

What are you feelings about the Urban Decay Aphrodisiac Eyeshadow Palette?

This came out of the blue, well atleast to me anyways. I will wait for your reviews and a sale (remember Backtalk) it reminds me of a smaller Lorac palette I purchased, those generally come out during the holidays.

Likewise! Sometimes these releases are super top secret lately and suddenly surprise here’s a new palette!

This. All warm neutrals and a token berry shade = almost every Tarte palette lately.

Leaving it. I’m dying for a cool toned purple palette. With my red undertones and red hair, all of these burgundy shadows make me look like a bunny on crack.

This little palette definitely has my spideysenses tingling. I like the color combos. But I’m going to wait for some swatches… I also heard from a little birdie at Ulta that a 20% off coupon should be coming out in the next 3 weeks’ish….

At first I was like, Yeah! But then saw it in stores and was like, Meh.
Plus, saw some swatches online and they were just ok. The reviewer also said the shades muddy together. So in the end, decided to pass. I hope your prediction comes true, Muse. We could use a nice purple Naked Palette for Fall.

I love purple and hope we see a lot of that shade this fall. But this palette doesn’t appeal to me at all! Maybe in person it looks better, but none of these shades look like they belong together.

I had the same feelings about it. Tried it and I finally figured out the shades actually do go together somehow 😀
