4 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild Zodiac Color Icon Eyeshadow ($4.69) in Fire is one of four limited edition eyeshadows that Wet n Wild released with their Zodiac Makeup Collection exclusively at Walmart. I picked up Fire and Earth which I recently reviewed! If you haven’t already do take a look at that review as I had some fun creating the look for that post.

I ended up ordering my some of the collection from Wet n Wild’s website as I have yet to see any of this collection at Walmart (although it is available at walmart.com). This is an opening for me to rant about the fact that exclusive drugstore collections suck. I feel like I’m running all over the damn place to locate these collections lately. The new Fire Dragon vs Ice Dragon is apparently exclusive to Walgreens and Ulta but I located at Harmons which leads me to believe at some point the Zodiac Collection will have a wider launch as well but as of now you have to haul ass to Walmart to get it. When did makeup become so damn complicated?

Wet n Wild Fire Color Icon Eyeshadow ($4.99) arrives in a circular compact that holds 0.21 oz of eyeshadow with six shade pressed into a single compact. I was a little concerned it would be difficult to use the shades given they are all housed together in one tiny space but I had no problems reaching into the shades I wanted without making a mess!

This palette is inspired by the Fire element with shades fiery shades of red, cranberry, orange, brassy gold, cream, and brown. It’s a really stunning selection of Summery shades! The shades pair up really well together and I was able to create a pretty contrasting look using them!

Unlike Earth these shades swatched quite nicely without as much glitter or dustiness but the formula was a little drier which disappointed me. None the less they were still very easy to apply and blend out with no fall out issues.

Where to buy

Walmart

Wet n Wild Earth Color Icon Eyeshadow is one of four shades that launched with Wet n Wilds new Zodiac Collection for Fall 2018. The palette contains 0.21 oz of eyeshadow and will set you back $4.99 for six shades. I thought the eyeshadows swatched very poorly on my arm and felt dry and appeared to dusk away easily but the application was a lot smoother with plenty of pigment and a good deal of lovely glitter although there was a good deal of fall out to deal with.

Pros

  • Lovely shades that all work well together.
  • Beautiful fiery shades for creating a really pretty Summer eye look!

Cons

  • Swatches a well but shadows are a bit drier and need a little TLC during application such as good primer or a sponge-tipped eyeshadow applicator for application.
  • Available on Wet n Wilds site only at the moment as it sold out at Walmart (apparently it is a Walmart exclusive collection).

Who

I think anyone who loves a fiery eyeshadow look will get on rather well with the Wet n Wild Fire Color Icon Eyeshadow. It’s a nice pick if you simply don’t have the money to splurge on palettes like Urban Decay Naked Heat!

Very pretty! I’m so tired of things being exclusive to certain locations, I just don’t have the time to track things down and the staff at said locations never seem to know what I’m talking about when I ask for stuff. I just feel like they could be much more successful if they launch everywhere. And supply more than two of each LE item.

I swear to God I always cringe when you review something I want because it doesn’t show up in Michigan for WEEKS after. I ran around to 10 different Walmarts for that limited edition Physician’s Formula bronzer kit! I FINALLY got in ONLINE six weeks after the fact … GRRRRR

I ordered this and the Air palette from Walmart as those were the only 2 left in stock. Received the Air but this was delayed. I used the Air twice, decided it sucked, and chucked it in the garbage. So I went ahead and canceled the order for this palette thinking it would probably suck as well or that it was already out of stock and my order would be canceled. Figures this one ends up decent. The Air one had no pigment. At all. It wasn’t even worth keeping because you couldn’t even see the shades on my eyes. Frustrating. But I agree with you, never did see this collection in stores but they were shipping the products from other stores to mine because it said so.
I don’t get it. Plus, WNW has too high of a free shipping threshold and I only wanted a few items from this collection. Tired of jumping through hoops to purchase makeup.

I haven’t tried air yet I got this one and earth and both weren’t bad! A little dry on some shades but overall, was able to create some nice look! ITA I really do hate jumping through hoops to buy makeup!

I finally found these in a Walmart in Utah (lol yes Utah, I live in Virginia) when I was on a business trip with some time to spare. I got all 4 eyeshadows and 2 lip glosses (Libra and Sagittarius). So far Earth is definitely a winner for me too, but Air wasn’t all that pigmented and didn’t show up on my lid very much. I ended up adding some from Fire to it. Tomorrow I’ll try Water on my eyes and Air as a highlighter and see if that works better.

Looks as if the one piece e/s palettes and the HLs are element based, and it seems the HLs are embossed with zodiac symbols. Not going to quibble that they’re not the same. I assume there will be an air and a water one piece e/s palette as well. They are kind of like concentrated versions of what Nyx did a couple of seasons ago. This palette is a great way to get this colorway, if you’re not duped to death. Nice on you.
