The eye shades look like other Tarte shades from previous palettes, except for packag ing and shade names. Easy pass. Plus Tart e holiday palettes are mostly made in China

  • Carol G

This is dumb. Sorry. Plus, as always, it looks the same as every other holiday Tarte palette. Wouldn’t even buy it on clearance due to the shape: storage nightmare right there.
(I do see this collection as an epic fail. I believe it’ll be on clearance straight away, after Xmas).

    • Isabella Muse

I hate to say this, bests on if I am wrong, but I have a feeling they’ll sell out of this one!

      • Carol G

You think? How come? Just curious.
Perhaps for teenagers as a gift but otherwise I can’t see people flocking to buy this. I could be wrong too, though.

        • Isabella Muse

I have no idea how but Tarte does a good job selling stuff out rather quickly during the Holidays! I don’t think the entire Holiday Collection will disappear but bigger like this palette will likely be gone by the time December rolls around! I’m sort of over it but their younger audience really gobbles it up! But who knows!? This year might be a big difference due to the fact makeup has become so very disposable! We shall see ;D

  • kjh

Bore me to tears, for all the aforementioned reasons. But there are newbies to makeup every minute who might love this. Tarte def has its too faced side. (repetitive, cutesy, etc.)

    • Isabella Muse

ITA! there are indeed a lot of makeup newbies that will totally adore this! That’s in fact where they have potential to sell out of stuff like this!

  • Cindy

Nope, nope, nope!! I was turned off by the pineapples with the Too Faced Tutti Frutti stuff, won’t go near this!

    • Isabella Muse

omg don’t hate me I liked Tutti Frutti ;-D even if the quality wasn’t quite there!

      • Cindy

Noooo I could never hate you LOL! I was just annoyed that all the blush colors in that collection were wrong for me and I really can’t stand the smell of pineapple so I was turned off by that whole thing.

        • Isabella Muse

aw I love you too ;-D how would I live without my fellow 80’s geek in arms ;-D They could have def did better blush shades! I did like the blush but I was hoping for more golden peaches and shimmering pink cherry anything blush! sigh!

I always used to look forward to Tarte’s holiday palettes. My favorite was from 2013, I believe. It came in a beautiful purple travel organizer. I still use that organizer to this day. But this, I’m not sure what you would do with a giant plastic pinapple??

    • Isabella Muse

and the worst part I don’t think the pineapple is reusable doesn’t appear to have any trays that pop out!

    • Cindy

I still have that purple organizer too! I’ve used it for travel a few times, it’s great!

  • AllisonT

I already have a few from the Tarte line. They are beautiful but I feel that once you have maybe 2-4 eyeshadow palettes the medium to large sized you pretty much have them all. These are definitely pretty. Tarte for the most part has always 98% had great packaging. Unfortunately I don’t need all the eyeshadows I already have repackaging 150 difference ways. For newbies these are definitely a good investment if the quality is up to par.

    • Isabella Muse

there we go found your comment from yesterday Allison! I agree! A lot of the shades are repetitive! For newer people ITA, this is a great palette but for many of us that have Tarte palettes it’s a lot of rerun!

  • Jennifer Bell

I laughed when I saw the pineapple theme! I grew up not too far from colonial Williamsburg, VA so strangely enough, to me, the pineapple makes sense for the holidays. What I don’t get is why Tarte thinks that the majority of people are going to get this connection – if in fact that is what they were shooting for.

    • Isabella Muse

hmm! do you think that’s what they were going for? VA pineapples!? Interesting!

  • Nora

To be honest, I think it was intended to be a summer collection but they probably had some timing issue and decided to sell it as ” Christmas in Hawaii “. I know, maybe I’m overthinking, but there is nothing about Christmas in this palette, they could mix tropical fruit print with santa’s hat or Christmas tree for lipstick tubes or add Christmas themed shade names, something like ” santa on the beach” or ” pina colada for Rudolf”, but there is nothing that shows it was intended as a Christmas collection.

    • Isabella Muse

that would be because comments are on approval and I’m not at my desk 24/7 to reply 🙂 plus I’m on a flight at the moment so I’m slowing working myself through all the comments I got on this post! As soon as I see yours (new comments show up first) I promise it will be approved and replied to. Thanks for being so patient!

        • Isabella Muse

LOL I TRY to be I really do try to be 😉 I just have a hard time catching up sometimes. I just told Martin I’m going to sit through this entire flight and try to get through all my backed up comments (there’s like 342 EEP!).

          • Isabella Muse

jesus yes please! about a year ago I was going to start interviewing interns but I ended up getting too busy to actually do it! Irony!

    • Isabella Muse

omg not at all! I’m glad you like it! To each his/her own! I think I’m just sort of done with all the bigger, bulkier palettes for the Holidays! Enjoy it honey!

  • Linda

I won’t lie, I’m really digging the tacky pineapples. I’m still on my summer kick of tropical and bronze-y and Hawaiian everything, and this packaging hits my sweet spot where it’s so tacky that it becomes charming. But the official swatches don’t look great… not keeping my hopes up for good quality on this one.

  • Liza

These colors look an awful lot like the mermaid palette. I like the Ulta exclusive version of the tarte palette better which has some better shades and also holds mascara, lipstick and eyeliner.

  • AJB

I really love pineapples. I kinda collect them, to be honest. The only reason id buy this is the packaging and the makeup is cool too I guess. But im not sure if I want to spend $60 on it… Is it really worth it?

    Anyone else watching Psych.
    Im a Pineapple loving Psycho

  • Lilas

    Hi
Eyeshadows, blushes, bronzer and highlight of this palette are they made in China like the sexkitten eyeliner ?

    • Isabella Muse

I don’t have it but this is likely made in China as Tarte Holiday Collections typically are but I can’t confirm officially!

  • Christine

I just ordered this for myself and I’m SO EXCITED! I think it’s incredibly unique as far as the giant pineapple and it being for the holidays. I’m 44 and I’m loving the warm neutral colors in this palette. Plus Tarte is my favorite and I’ve never been disappointed with any of my pallets from them. Happy holidays from Texas ❤️
