4 stars out of 5

Kaja Cat Nap Under Eye Brightener ($19) is a new peach-toned corrector that acts to brighten up eyes which can be used alone or under your favorite concealer. This is probably one of my favorite pick up in the beauty world recently!

I typically don’t like using concealer and corrector because 1. I already use a very pigmented concealer and don’t feel the need to correct anything that’s already concealed by the pigmented coverage I already applied and 2. I feel like concealer and corrector is just too much product under my eyes!

This formula however, is the exception to my rule. I can’t believe how much I like this!

Here’s why.

Kaja Cat Nap Under Eye Brightener is part of a new “Korean Brand” that Memebox recently launched at Sephora. I use Korean brand loosely because as many of you pointed out Kaja Beauty wasn’t born in Korea but created right here in the USA. However, I guess the idea and inspiration comes from K-Beauty if that helps things alone. Either way, I purchased a few items from the brand and so far I’ve really enjoyed the items I tried. One of those items was Kaja Dont Settle Concealer which was a little sheer but still a very, very lovely concealer formula.

The same holds true for Cat Nap as it is quite sheer and this actually why I like it. In terms of shade selection it reminds me of a lighter version of Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluid. The texture is creamy yet quite thin, blends easily, and has a lightly hydrating formula that didn’t crease or cake under my eyes. The fact that it’s so thin and has such a natural skin finish makes it very, very easy to wear under my concealer! It doesn’t cause issues with me applying my other concealer nor did it make my concealer crease or cake up. The formula is very, very lightweight.

The peach shade is actually wonderful as well (I actually wish they made a pigmented concealer in this color as it’s so great at brightening up the eye area and a loose setting powder too please!). I wouldn’t say the shade created some wow inducing brightness under my eyes but it was just enough to correct minor darkness prior to applying concealer. It’s the type of product that somehow, someway magically brightens up the area under my eyes with very little effort (or pigment as it is quite sheer). I was sort of amazed how well it brightened the area up and set the stage for my concealer. I can easily see myself wearing this and only this on days I’m going minimal with my makeup as it doesn’t look pasty or unnatural. It just sort of erases the tired look my eyes sometimes have!

Kaja Cat Nap Under Eye Brightener is definitely a great product that will eliminate tired eyes and give them a well rested look! I really enjoyed this formula!

Where to buy

Sephora

Kaja Cat Nap Under Eye Brightener is $19 and 0.19 oz in size. This brightening corrector is available in a single shade of light peach and was created to diffuse the appearance of dark circles. You can use it alone or under your favorite concealer to brighten up the eye area. It’s thin yet creamy, lightly hydrating, and blends easily. The coverage runs sheerer but still managed to brighten up my eye area nicely. I was surprised it wore so well and easily under my concealer without making me look heavily made up. I had no issues with it creasing or caking and it worked just as good alone as it did under my eyes to perk them up and give them a brighter look!

Pros

  • Anyone who needs a little help with tired looking eyes.
  • Runs sheer but still manages to brighten up eyes nicely.
  • Thinner, creamy texture blends easily.
  • Lightweight feel that wears easily under concealer.

Cons

  • Might not be ideal if you suffer from severe dark circles due to sheerness of the formula.

Who

If you aren’t struggling with major dark circles this little guy is a nice pick up to use alone or alone with your own concealer to perk up tired eyes!

Sold. The concealers all look too yellow, though I have yet to see them in person. Maybe the Kaja could do ok over the corrector. The formula sounded very nice. I think there’s a subcategory: KI beauty. Korean inspired. Julep is one, too. Love Julep lips and foundation. KI is a good thing.

Oooh ooh! Speaking of Kaja…did you purchase any of the
Beauty Bento Bouncy Shimmer Eyeshadow Trios? I am intrigued! Especially with the upcoming sale. I am thinking it would be a good time to give one or three a try. 😉

Ooh! Awesome! I will keep an eye out for your thoughts on them. I am most drawn to Sparkling Rose and Toasted Caramel. 😉
