Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eye Palette Collection review and swatches

The new HSN exclusive Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eye Palette Collection featuring a Pumpkin Spice Eyeshadow Palette launched last month and I purchased it immediately because I’m basic. Don’t lie that the idea of a Pumpkin Spice Eyeshadow Palette didn’t totally make you squeal in joy. I haven’t quite reached a point where I’m annoyed or irritated by scented makeup or makeup inspired by fruits and veggies. Present me with unicorn or mermaid makeup anything and I will cut you but give me a fruity scented makeup collection or in this case a Pumpkin Spice one and I’m all over it.

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eye Palette Collection is actually a 4 piece set that’s $49.99, available exclusively at hsn.com, and ships free. The items inside the set are all full-size and it comes in a gorgeous box ready for gifting. It’s actually a really cute hostess gift if you’re attending any Fall events/gatherings at a friend’s house who happens to love makeup.

I admit Pumpkin Spice Everything is part of my Fall religion. When it comes to Fall and I embrace all the basic things about! Apple and pumpkin picking, haunted destinations, Fall festivals and fairs, sitting my a warm fire sipping Pumpkin Spice flavored anything…whatever you got Fall throw it at me as I’m sure to love it and I have no shame admitting that.

So, of course, when this collection launched I HAD TO HAVE IT. I wasn’t even taking quality into consideration! Just the fact it was a pumpkin spice inspired collection had me right off the bat. Sadly, my review is a little late coming down the pipe line as Holiday Collections keep getting in the way of me enjoying all the basic bitchery that is Fall. At this point I’m sure many of you already tried this collection and have been enjoying it (or not).

The collection pretty much reminds me of some of the the Too Faced past HSN exclusive sets like the Funfetti Set and Sugarplum Set. I don’t think the collection holds any truly unique shades unfortunately, but it still is a nice collection none the less and has some very fun Fall and pumpkin inspired shades (which I’m sure you can dupe but it sure is nice having them in one palette).

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eyeshadow Palette

So, what do you get! You get a Pumpkin Spice Eyeshadow Palette that holds 16 eyeshadows all of which are Made in China. The palette has a fairly generous-sized mirror inside, a really cute pumpkin design on the front cover, and the eyeshadows all have their names printed below them and are arranged in groups of four making it easy to pair up looks. Some folks asked me if my set came with a get-the-look guide and unfortunately, it did not but if you’re struggling with looks I think it’s fairly easy to pair shades up here especially since Too Faced divided them up for you into quads. The set also includes a full-size Better than Sex Mascara, a Pumpkin Spice Ultra Plush Lipgloss, and a Teddy Bear Hair Eyeshadow Brush.

I don’t think the shadows are as velvet or thick as ones we’ve seen in some of Too Faced’s better eyeshadow palettes or even as good as ones featured in the Tickled Peach Eyeshadow Palette that recently launched. However, they are still fairly good none the less. All the shades had very good pigmentation and the mattes felt smooth and silky. I was able to easily apply and blend these shades. Some colors are a bit drier but a sponge-tip eyeshadow applicator does aid in piling color on. Golden Pumpkin is also a bit sheerer and not your typical shimmer eyeshadow but more of a sparkling overcoat with a good deal of Fall out (I’m wearing it in my look below) that looks best over another shade but not all its own. These’s nothing awful here, it’s just not a Too Faced’s Best in Show Palette if you get my meaning. All the shades are Fall friendly and the last quad in particularly has a selection of shades that are very pumpkin-y! Unfortunately or maybe fortunately (for sensitive users) I did not notice any scent or fragrance from the eyeshadows. Not even a hint of cocoa (which is sometimes how Too Faced Eyeshadows smell) so, if the pumpkin spice fragrance element worried you, you can rest easy knowing there is no fragrance here.

Along with the eyeshadow palette this set comes with a Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Ultra Gloss. Ultra Gloss seems to make an appearance within many of the HSN sets but isn’t an item they offer permanently. I tried it the first time in the Funfetti Set that launched in 2016. I liked the formula but it was sheerer and that could be due to the color. This shade has a lot more pigmented and is a very pretty Fall-friendly terracotta spice shade. It does have a cinnamon vanilla-like fragrance and flavor but not quite a pumpkin spice one. The texture feels balmy almost as if it has a built-in primer of sorts. It has a nice hint of glossiness and a faint shimmer. I didn’t feel it was sticky nor tacky and wore for about three hours and it felt lightly hydrating through the first hour of wear.

I’m not a huge fan of Better than Sex Mascara which also came with this set so I’ll be gifting that. I did love the brush it came with! It has nice soft bristles and works great packing color on.

Overall, the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eye Palette Collection is a fun and fairly inexpensive way to celebrate Fall and the shades of the season!

Where to buy

HSN

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eyeshadow Palette is a limited edition pumpkin spice scented 16-pan eyeshadow palette that launched exclusive in the Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Eye Palette Collection which is available exclusively at hsn.com. The palette contains 16 shades that are 0.03 oz each which are made in China. I had fairly good results overall with the palette. Application was good, blending was great with minor fall out on some of the sparkly shades. Some shades did run a little drier and required sponge-tipped eyeshadow applicator for the smoothest results but all in all the texture on these was fairly good just a bit thinner and less velvety than some of the brand’s standard eyeshadows. The shades in the palette all worked very well together to create warmer Fall looks! I did not detected the promise pumpkin spice fragrance and smelled absolutely nothing not even a hint of cocoa. Sadly, the palette is unavailable as an individual purchase and can only be purchased as a set which is a great deal as it does include a full-size Better than Sex Mascara as well as a Pumpkin Spice Ultra Gloss and eyeshadow brush.

Pros

  • Perfect for lovers of Fall and warmer eyeshadow looks!
  • Very affordable for 16 eyeshadows, a brush, as well as two other full-size products.
  • Ships free!

Cons

  • Doesn’t smell like pumpkin spice.
  • Not available at any other retailers aside from HSN.
  • Eyeshadow shades are easily duped if you have a lot of different warmer shades.

I got this set too and I agree, it’s not the best thing TF has ever produced but it is half-way decent and the colors are perfect for Fall. Mine did smell slightly, but it did not smell remotely like pumpkin spice. It just smelled like a faint vanilla smell. Kind of a let down, tbh, as I was truly hoping for a nice pumpkin spice smell. I love the BBW pumpkin spice candles so I was sort of hoping this would have a similar smell. Nonetheless, I’m glad I ordered it because it was a great value for the items you receive. I agree that the shadow quality isn’t 100 % top notch, however, it is still very pretty and I like how it is sectioned into four quads or you can obviously mix and match it how you see fit. Glad I purchased it, no regrets. Most of the holiday offerings are let downs anyway, so I haven’t really purchased anything other than this, the Gingerbread palette and the UD Naked Cherry.

ITA on everything you said! Only thing I didn’t get was the vanilla scent, mine had no scent, didn’t detect anything! However, I agree! Not the best palette around but not the worst either and I don’t regret it. I think I’ll make a lot of use out of this Fall ;-D good selection of warmer colors 😀

  • Alyssa

I’ve been waiting for them to do a pumpkin spice one, but honestly the palettes from hsn are usually not a good as an Ulta or Sephora one. Think I’ll pass on this and hope they do one like the gingerbread palette next year

  • kjh

They took a tip from Cargo, and laid it out in obvi quads. I like that, even though I might totally disregard it.

“Present me with unicorn or mermaid makeup anything and I will cut you”…….
this made me laugh. I love you sense of humour 😀
Thanks for the review. Shame it doesn’t smell like pumpkin spice – missed opportunity! (Although, personally, I’m not really into scented makeup because my eyes are so sensitive, but I still enjoy sniffing :D) Also, thank you so much for saying where it was made. That’s super helpful 🙂

The colours look very pretty on you, especially that gloss!

    • Isabella Muse

LOL glad I made ya laugh! ;-D my pleasure my dear! ITA! I was a little disappointed it didn’t smell like pumpkin spice damn! No prob! I’m glad you found it helpful! <3! thank YOU!

  • Kim

I think it’s great that they divided it up into quads, you can see the 4 distinct looks you can get very easily. Really great for someone new to makeup. If I didn’t already have every shade in the universe, I’d be all over this!

    • Isabella Muse

ITA! I sometimes struggle with color pairing and this just makes it easy! LOL I can relate!

  • Liz

My heart literally cried when I read that this doesn’t smell like pumpkin spice. 🙁

  • Kim M

Mine DOES smell like pumpkin spice! Well, it smells like the chocolate bar with a slightly different/”spicy” end note, but it definitely smells. I had my friends over smelling it, too. I wonder if you got a dud? Otherwise I agree with you about this palette! Nothing revolutionary but I like it none the less. In fact, I kind of enjoy that it’s not super pigmented right away, but you can build it up. Excited to get some more use out of it. And thank you so much for posting about it originally, that’s the only reason I knew about it!

    • Isabella Muse

Maybe it’s a dud 🙁 I smell nothing! Likewise! Not really unique or special but I’m still glad I got it ;-D Yay! You are so welcome Kim! Enjoy it!

  • Candace Hollins

Hi girl! Thank you so so much for your fabulous review. I am sad that yours didn’t come with a “get the look” guide but that’s totally ok because like you said, it’ll be easy to create something with the four quads that happened to group together colors that would look fab together. Thank you again! Xoxo

    • Isabella Muse

My pleasure! I was sad to see the lack of guide to but at least the shades are easy enough to pair up 😀 enjoy yours!
