4 stars out of 5

L’Oreal Hydra Nutrition Manuka Honey All Over Balm ($19.99) is a new all over moisturizing balm that can be used on your face, neck, chest, hands, and probably under your eyes if you want to get wild and crazy (and don’t mind the subtle fragrance). I picked up this little gem recently because if nothing at all I love me some multitasking skincare! According to L’Oreal this is ideal for mature and very dry skin. Hey, I totally have try skin so let’s get this party started!

Depending how you look at it L’Oreal Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Manuka Honey All Over Balm is a little expensive if you’re purchasing full price. At 1.7 oz squeeze tube will set you back $19.99 to $24.99 but of course sales and coupons go a long way and making this a lot more affordable.

Surprisingly enough L’Oreal did a good job with it although the honey portion of this balm is a little lower on the list of ingredients it still contains some rather good ingredients such as jojoba Shea butter, and a range of hydrating oils that will hydrate skin nicely. Not to mention they put it in a nice hygienic squeeze tube! Good job L’Oreal! It also contains Honey extract, royal jelly, and beeswax but it’s hard to determine how much of that is in the formula and those ingredients do appear a midway down the list so there might be a good amount in here or there may be a smaller amount.

Based on my testing I’d say honey was probably lower down the list of ingredients since I didn’t feel like this was as intensely hydrating “for very dry” skin as it promises. It actually reminds me of hand cream and not a balm at all. That’s not a bad thick it’s just to say the texture was creamy yet thinner and quick to absorb with some very nice moisture but not intense moisture for very dry skin! In other words, don’t expect this to be your perfect Winter balm to cure all your flaky dry areas in a flash!

That being said, I liked it none the less. It’s lightweight, isn’t greasy, it doesn’t contain mineral oil if that’s a concern nor parabens, and it absorbs super fast leaving behind quite smooth skin. It someways it reminds me of Clarins Flash Balm in the fact it would make a rather nice makeup primer prep for drier skin!

It does contain some fragrance sadly which may or may not upset you as well as a very small amount of limonene. The fragrance, again, reminds me of hand cream. It’s light, fresh, and smells like some sort of generic hand cream! I guess they were going for a honey scent but I don’t quite get that from this! The scent was pleasant for me but I know tons of people who like to avoid fragrance in their skincare. The good news would be the fragrance seems very subtle and light to my nose.

All in all, L’Oreal Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Manuka Honey All Over Balm is quite nice. I’m enjoying using it and makes for a nice travel buddy if you need a multitasker! I’ve applied it on my cuticles, on my face, my chest, just about anywhere for some nice moisture that isn’t greasy or oily! I’d recommend checking it out! It’s not going to be a complete end all for drier skin but it is a nice lightweight moisturizer!

Where to buy

Walmart Amazon Target Ulta

L’Oreal Age Perfect Hydra Nutrition Manuka Honey All Over Balm is a new, permanent all over moisturizing balm that can be used on your face, hands, neck, or chest. This isn’t a balm in my experience but more of a lightweight creamy moisturizer that absorbs easily without being greasy or oily. It has a light fragrance that seemed quite subtle and has some fairly good hydrating ingredients to provide nice moisture but nothing too intense for drier skin unfortunately. I quite liked the fact I could multitask with it and apply it all over my body including on my cuticles. The texture is very light and didn’t make me feel or look greasy or oily. I have drier skin though and I’m not comfortable saying this is perfect for intense moisture or hydration but there’s plenty enough to act as a primer of sorts for makeup leaving skin very smooth without being heavy!
