Pantone Color of the Year 2019 is Living Coral and I Can’t Wait To See What the Makeup World Does With This

The Pantone Color of the Year for 2019 has been announced and it’s called Living Coral. This bright orange coral shade looks like it’ll make for some fantastic Spring Break Makeup Collection as well as some sizzling Summer ones. It feels ages since the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year for 2012 launch in the shade Tangerine Tango! Living Coral closely resembles the shade in my humble opinion which makes me hopeful we’ll see bright shimmery gold coral blushes and lipsticks and eyeshadows oh my! The possibilities!

I remember coral playing such a prominent role in Spring makeup launches but it literally feels ages since I’ve seen a collection embracing the shade and I’m about ready to see some brilliant shades of coral inspired by the Pantone Color of the Year! Although, the last few years the only brand that really gets on board with the idea is Butter London who has already launched a collection featuring this shade (yay!). I do hope that other brands are inspired to do so as well!

What do you think of the Pantone Color of the Year 2019?

Are you a fan of bright corals?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. This coral colot is all for you Muse. Not orange, not peach but coral for your blushes!

Well, I hope this means I won’t spend as much money on makeup as I did last year! My skin tone is not coral-friendly. 😉

Me either, esp in lip products. Tangerine Tango was ok, bec orange is ok. The pink in there is what does it in for me.

Nope. I would love to wear corals, but they are simply a no-go on me.

I love it! Really can’t wait to see what products come from this. Should be awesome.

ooh this is exciting. they haven’t done a good pantone since Tango! that was a fun year.
after that I don’t think sephora did anything as successful. I tried to get all the products in your photo but only managed to get the eyeliner. which, TBH, I never used, but still have in my collection lol.

I’m excited for next year’s Living Coral!

I LOVE it. I’m fair skinned with warm undertones, and coral is such a flattering color for me. I can’t wait for all the coral blushes and lippies that will be coming out.

Old post, but still: a Chilean makeup store (DBS) released a Pantone collection back in August. It’s fantastic. I own the biggest palette and it’s beautiful. The colours, both matte and shimmers, are pigmented and easy to blend. It’s still available.
